Upon arriving, it was clearly called out that the practice had changed hands as there's typically holdovers in terms of staff. Dental hygienist who did my cleaning was thorough and couldn't have been nicer. I asked her about an almost-cavity that my previous dentist had been monitoring, and she said it was still a non-issue. The dentist (Eastern European guy, not Zedeker) comes in and magically finds a cavity that she allegedly didn't see. Didn't offer much explanation other than it wasn't the same one I asked about. They insisted I come back to fill the cavity later and had me make an appointment which was weird as typically a dentist will just handle a cavity on the spot. A lot of this didn't sit right with me, so I went to another dentist to double check. Turns out there was no new cavity where they said, and even the old almost-cavity was so small that they would never recommend touching it unless it grew. Maybe they thought I would just allow them to make more money off of me, and do unnecessary (potentially harmful) work in the process. I canceled my appointment and will never return. Maybe this practice was once good and honest, but that clearly isn't the case anymore. Plenty of dentists around who don't pull crap like this. No wonder they needed to buy an existing practice.

For a little over a year now, I've been going to Dr Simpson to have a synthetic tooth installed in my lower, right jaw. I had heard about such procedures before, but it always seemed rather extreme...until I started having chronic problems with one tooth, which culminated in a serious root infection. My dentist (Dr. Narang) suggested I have that tooth out and replace it with an implant. So I thought, OK, now is a good time to try an implant. My dentist recommended Dr. Simpson (an oral surgeon). Dr. Simpson checked the situation out and determined that I would be a good candidate for an implant. Dr. Simpson clearly explained the steps involved in the process. The process to have an implant is rather lengthy. The first step was to extract the old (original) tooth. That went without issue...and without pain. A good start! In fact, I experienced no pain during the entire process. [Note: the process will be slightly different for each person, depending on their circumstances.] After the tooth was removed, we had to wait some time (months) for the jaw to heal and be ready for the next step. Then the hole in my jaw was filled with bone fragments (don't ask where from), which would meld in with my jawbone in preparation for the next step. More waiting... Then the base for the implant was placed into my jaw. [Screwed in, actually, using what looked like a small ratchet wrench.] More waiting... Then, when everything looked good, I was sent back to my dentist to have the crown put on my new tooth stem and fastened into the base. More waiting... Inspected by both my dentist and Dr. Simpson and given the thumbs-up. My new tooth is now in place and feels right at home. No further problems!

I confirmed my insurance once over the phone and then multiple times in person that the office was in-network. Based on that, I proceeded with my appointments on March 16 (cleaning and exam) and March 23 (night guard fitting). On March 16, the doctor and back-office staff were absolutely amazing. Since there was no hygienist available, the doctor personally performed my cleaning, and it was honestly one of the best cleanings I've ever had. The assistants and imaging techs were also great--professional, kind, and efficient. Ashley at the front desk was also consistently pleasant, professional, and knowledgeable. Unfortunately, my experience with Talia at the front desk was the complete opposite. During my first visit, she began discussing treatment and payment mid-visit and even repeatedly called me by the wrong name ("Jennifer") despite having my paperwork in front of her. The doctor recommended both a night guard and Invisalign, but I made it clear I was not ready to move forward with Invisalign. Talia then discussed the night guard and quoted me approximately $440, stating my insurance would cover 50%. She confirmed both the pricing and that I was in-network. We agreed I would pay half at the fitting and the remainder upon completion. I also provided insurance information for my daughter and spouse. I declined self-pay for my daughter after being told they were out-of-network. For my spouse, who has UHC Oxford, Talia said she would verify coverage and call me back. I never received a call. I followed up a few days later and was again told someone would call me back--still no response. At my March 23 appointment, I addressed multiple issues: my email was still incorrect in their system despite providing the correct one previously, there was still no update on my spouse's insurance verification, and I again offered to provide his information, which Talia declined--only to interrupt my fitting mid-procedure to ask for it, forcing the tech to stop and raise my chair so I could access my phone. This was extremely frustrating and unprofessional, especially since I had already provided and re-offered that information multiple times. The most concerning issue came at checkout. When I went to pay the agreed-upon $220 (half of $440), Talia suddenly told me the total was approximately $880 because I was out-of-network and the service was "orthodontic" and not covered. This directly contradicted everything I had been told before booking, during my first visit, and during prior payment discussions. I even had the original quote she emailed me as proof. When I questioned this, she insisted a night guard was orthodontic treatment. I explained that a night guard is considered an appliance, not orthodontic treatment, but she became dismissive and argumentative instead of listening. I left without paying because I no longer trusted the information being provided. I immediately contacted my insurance, who confirmed I am in-network with this office, a night guard is NOT orthodontic treatment, and they cover 50% as originally quoted. They also reviewed Talia's call and confirmed she incorrectly described the night guard as orthodontic treatment to them as well. At that point, I decided this practice was not the right fit--not because of the doctor or clinical staff, but because of the front desk experience. Patients rely on accurate insurance and billing information to make informed decisions, and that did not happen here. When I called to cancel, Talia denied ever telling me I was in-network, which is simply not true. The call was handled poorly and lacked accountability. I did receive a follow-up call from Kali, the manager, who was excellent--professional, understanding, and transparent. She acknowledged that the situation should not have happened and confirmed that re-education would take place. However, to further validate my concerns, I asked Kali to confirm my email address while we were on the phone, and it was still incorrect in the system despite multiple prior requests to update it. Ultimately, I went to another in-network dental office and paid only $107 for the same night guard--compared to the $440 (and then $880) I was quoted here. Overall: Doctor and clinical staff were excellent. Ashley and Kali were professional and helpful. The front desk experience with Talia was disorganized, misinformed, and unprofessional. I strongly recommend verifying your insurance directly before scheduling or making any payments.

Update: I have to update my review. I went in for fillings and was handled with an older dentist…read more In total, I probably went back and forth about 4-6 more times. This was due to him not being able to locate the cause of pain, as he claimed he had filled all cavities and that it can take up to "two weeks for the nerves to not be sensitive" post-filling. Eventually, he said I might need a root canal. Well, after wasting an incredible amount of time and gas I ended up finding another dentist. They located the hole in my filling and filled it, as well as the other cavities. They told me that was the source of pain and that I definitely didn't need a root canal. I don't have the issue anymore, it was fixed in one visit with another dentist. I was also told I had periodontitis and would require deep cleanings every 3 months. This was also false, as confirmed by other dentists I saw shortly after. My teeth are actually in great shape. When I called them to get my records, they tried to tell me they couldn't "release" them to me. I ended up getting them anyway. Horrible team and staff. They're CON ARTISTS.

The office staff is great, and the dental hygienist was excellent; very thorough and professional. I was seen briefly by Dr. Rachel Wheaton, one of the dentists on staff. Dr. Wheaton recommended 4 new crowns, which surprised me since I had just been examined by my old dentist 6 months ago. One of the crowns recommended would address the hole in my tooth from the filling that came out this morning. There was no offer of a shorter term, less expensive solution for the problem that brought me to the Harriman Dental office; only a $1657 crown. I indicated that I couldn't do new crowns right now and left for home. I later called to speak with Dr. Wheaton, but she was at lunch. I asked for her to return my call. Later I received a call from the receptionist who said Dr. Wheaton asked me to return to the office for a "consultation" and did not want to do a "consultation" over the telephone. I asked the receptionist to confirm that the doctor was unwilling to do a repair on the tooth, and her reply through the receptionist was that I needed a crown, a repair would not be permanent, and she would not do a restoration. So I am left with a hole in my tooth and a sharp edge until I can afford a crown; and I am less than pleased that Dr. Wheaton would not call me to answer my question. Allan E. Harriman, NY

When you're all the way back in the chair there's a TV screen to watch and they give you sunglasses so the lights don't bother you. Today I had a cleaning and a tooth extraction. Both dental hygienists are very gentle. It's never painful. Then I had X-rays done. They used a gun he held and it was More precise and lower dosage. The hygienist didn't even need to move away. The Novocain worked well and i barely felt the tooth extraction. Afterwards I got free toothpaste and a toothbrush. I highly recommend Mint Kisco

After the dentist completed the exam, she recommended a deep cleaning, fillings, and an extraction. Instead of moving forward with a cleaning, I was taken to speak with the financial coordinator, who reviewed the proposed treatment plan and costs. The deep cleaning would have cost over $1,000, with my portion being $477 after insurance. I was comfortable discussing the fillings, but I declined the extraction because it has never caused me any problems, and previous dentists have told me it could be monitored if it remained symptom-free. I explained that I was not ready to proceed with the deep cleaning and politely asked if I could receive a regular cleaning instead. I was told that I could not and that I should find another dental practice. That response was disappointing and felt unprofessional. What frustrated me most was that the deep cleaning was presented as a recommendation, yet I felt I had no choice if I wanted any cleaning at all. At every other dental office I've visited, when a deep cleaning was recommended and I declined, I was still given the option of a regular cleaning after discussing the risks and benefits. This was the first time I have ever been refused a cleaning altogether. I understand that treatment recommendations are important and that practices need to discuss available options. However, I also believe patients should be able to ask questions, decline recommended treatment, and still be treated respectfully. I left feeling like my concerns and preferences were not taken into consideration. To make matters more frustrating, my insurance benefits were used for the exam and X-rays, and I now have to schedule another appointment with my previous dentist to receive the cleaning I originally came in for. Overall, I left feeling disappointed by the experience. While the hygienist provided excellent care, the way my treatment options were handled and the lack of flexibility in discussing alternatives left me with a negative impression of the practice.
