I am extremely disappointed with the customer service at Peekskill Dental Associates, specifically the receptionist who answers the phones and schedules appointments. This is now my third negative experience with her. Every time I call, she comes across as rude, impatient, and as though she doesn't want to be there. She offers no solutions and speaks to patients with a dismissive attitude. Today, my appointment had to be rescheduled because the hygienist wasn't available. I called more than 20 times trying to reschedule and even left a voicemail. When someone finally answered, the call was disconnected. After that, I called from a different phone because I genuinely felt like my calls were being ignored. When I tried to reschedule, I simply asked her to tell me the available day first so I could decide what time worked for me. Instead of helping, she told me, "You can call back on Monday since you're being nasty," even though I was only trying to schedule my appointment. When I asked for her name, she sarcastically responded, "My name is 'Call back on Monday,'" instead of identifying herself. I then attempted to ask for her manager's name, but she abruptly hung up before I could finish speaking. That level of unprofessionalism is unacceptable. There was no reason for the way I was treated. Patients deserve to be spoken to with courtesy and respect, especially when they are trying to reschedule an appointment that the office itself had to change. The dentists and hygienists may provide excellent care, but the first impression of any practice is the person answering the phone. Unfortunately, this receptionist's behavior has been consistently rude, dismissive, and unprofessional. Because of these repeated experiences, I will not be returning to this office. I hope the practice addresses this issue by providing customer service training or reevaluating whether this person is the right fit for a patient-facing role. No patient should have to deal with this kind of treatment simply for trying to reschedule an appointment. read more

The office charges the insurance before the work was even started. This is completely illegal. We have been trying to get xray records and the refusal to give the records to the next doctor is again illegal. This office should be completely shut down and investigated. Horrible Costumer service , called over 17 times and it was impossible to get someone to answer the phone, when I finally got through the office manager hand up on me half way through my sentence, it seems like the employee was overwhelmed and stressed and couldn't deal with the call volume. . How is this even possible to still be happening in 2025 . read more

My mother and I decided to go to this office to try out a new place, as our last dentist office suddenly closed. On my first appointment back in December, I was made aware that I had 2 cavities that had to be filled and made a follow up appointment to take care of them. NEVER did they let me know at that appointment that they only do composite. On the day of my filling, they informed me that they only do composite and that it would be a $50 charge per tooth, while I was already in the chair. They had me sign a form agreeing to pay, which was fine because I did agree to pay the fee. However, my mother informed me that we have never had to pay for a cavity filling. Long story short, we reached out to the insurance company and Peekskill has denied everything that has occurred. I am completely disgusted with their lies and unprofessionalism. Do not recommend. Peekskill Dental associates needs to let their customers know beforehand that they only do certain services and that there will be additional fees. This means BEFORE a customer reaches the chair so they can decide what to do. read more

absolutely everything about this place was a nightmare. The secretarys are rude and never call to cancel your appointment if the dentist is out. I had 2 different appointments where i had to take off work and when i got there i was told i wouldn't be seen. They tried to give me a upper plate that looked like it came from a Halloween store. I would like to share with you the experience I had at Peekskill Dental Associates, Provider NPI 1881984003, 901 Main Street, Suite 200, Peekskill, NY 10566, 914-739-9400, info@nycdent.com, www.nycdent.com On Monday the 3rd of August 2020 I was scheduled for the extraction of a wisdom tooth. My appointment was for 1:00 p.m., but I was not seen until 3:45 p.m., after a two hour and forty-five minute wait. A typical wait, at this practice, is one and one-half hours past the appointment time, in my experience. When I made what I felt was a reasonable request-- the receipt of my tooth, post-extraction, Dr. Cameron Lewis took an extremely belligerent and aggressive tone, browbeating me verbally, without even a pretense of civility, and continued in this vituperative manner even after I agreed that, as it had an amalgam--as I understood, from reading the CDC guidelines, that I could not retain it as I had done with the four wisdom teeth previously extracted as well as the four teeth extracted during my orthodontic treatment, all of which are still in my possession. I have seen many dentists in my 53 years--who would answer my concerns and questions in a civil manner: Dr. Grisanti, Dr. Morrelli, Dr. Widman, Dr. Geller, Dr. Meyerowitz, Dr. Fox, and Dr. Stern. Never, in my recollection, have I ever experienced such absolutely appalling behavior, in any context, professionally or personally, prior to this appointment. By contrast, the demeanor of the support staff was civil and helpful, in particular the young lady who provided me with the anti-microbial rinse and the gentleman who took my pulse and blood pressure. It later transpired that charges had been made twice for several services, and there were covered services that my insurance covered, which I had been compelled to pay up front for, prior to the appointment. Once we discovered this we started the long and arduous process of seeking reimbursement for the sum which we had been overcharged. This practice did not lose one patient--they lost three--because I could never, in good conscience, expose my children to the possibility of this sort of behavior from a supposed "professional." read more

Worst experience ever. Had to get my wisdom teeth out, came in first to get the scans done and second time for the surgery. Took off two days of work to come in sit there for 1 hour just for them to come in and tell me my insurance doesn't cover part of the surgery and I should really go to a hospital to get it done because of extra risk. I am typically a coward when it comes to going to the Dentist. I was filled with anxiety from the get go. The women at the front desk are both professional & beyond accommodating to me as a single father raising my 4 sons my schedule is tight yet they always accommodate me. The nurse was so sensitive to my fear she offered to play my favorite music which is Country on her personal phone to ease my fear..and the Dentist was so gentle with the novicane injection I didn't even know it was administered & her completing my 2 fillings was absolutely the most non painful dental experience I have ever had. I would like to share with everyone the horrible experience I had a few months Ago at my appointment. I really don't recommend going here at all. I had a regular check up appointment, which I was excited about as I hadn't gone to the dentist in a few years and had a very hard time finding a dentist that accepted my insurance but thought I finally had found a good place and to add to all this I was excited because I had a lot of discomfort in my teeth and just wanted to get it fixed as I could see my fillings deteriorate and I could feel and see cavities. When I got there I had a lovely person take care of me and she took my x-rays. I told her my concerns and she showed me on the x-rays where my cavities were and where a crack in my filling was. I was thankful she had done this because I knew I had felt a lot of discomfort and pain in those areas. Then afterwards the actual dentist came in, a women that seemed to be in her 40s but I can't recall her name. She was rude from the beginning and showed NO CARE. I explained to her my concerns about my teeth and within that time she didn't pay attention to me, took a quick look at my X-rays and told me everything was fine... I told her yet again that I knew there were issues (I couldn't tell her one of her employees had already told me there were issues in my teeth because she had told me she wasn't technically allowed to tell me). This women gave me TOOTHPASTE for my discomfort and pain. She was in and out of the room within 2 minutes. Being absolutely unprofessional and walking away after I was clearly in a state of shock. I have NEVER made a complaint on here, I have NEVER even thought to leave a bad review anywhere but this situation was so incredibly horrible and unprofessional that I had to. As I walked out her employee told me that she suggested for me to go to a different place and get a second opinion. I walked out of there feeling defeated, unheard, and devastated. How can someone who went to school for this and took an oath for this job let a patient walk out with pain, discomfort and concerns. SHE DID NOT CARE FOR A SECOND ABOUT HER JOB. I am the calmest most understanding person but this situation made me so incredible upset. DONT GO HERE, this women Does not care... it's been a few months and I haven't been able to find another dentist locally or without a huge wait (I work 2 jobs and go to college full time so I have little to no time to drive far). I am still in a lot of pain and discomfort, this has actually gotten 10x worse. I have trouble chewing and enjoying my food as my teeth feel sensitive and there are cracks and holes in my fillings and clean signs of cavities. I have now considered calling my insurance company to explain this situation or who ever is in charge of this place. read more

I was very happy with my first experience with this dental office. I called them at 2:30 asking for a new patient appointment as an emergency as I had a cracked tooth. They took me right away. Everyone I spoke to was so nice and friendly. I'll definitely be using their services again! read more
