There are 400+ steps to climb up and down. The steps are made of timber but could be wet and slippery from early morning dew, so I feel that a late morning trek is better when the stairs are dry. On my second visit, I went around 6 PM. Although the stairs are well lit, I just did not feel safe. I found myself alone at one point and looking behind me, checking if someone is coming out of the dark bushes. Maybe it's just me... But overall, if you would like to hit your 10K steps and/or your target heart rate, this is a fun way to go!

Parking is easy with a large lot right next to the lake, opposite of the lake are some hiking trails if you have more time. It's a nice loop going around with some different areas along the way such as a small creek, reeds near the shore, and some water works that looks like they have been turned off or no longer function. Even in Winter there are a lot of different birds around. My kids loved following and chasing the large pelicans in the lake. You can fish here and there are children's fishing competitions. Just keep in mind to have a permit because when we went there was a police officer checking and ticketing people.

Parking is in front near the entrance, weekdays it's $4 /hr but free on the weekends. Admission is just a $5 suggested donation to support the arboretum. I arrived within the first half hour after opening to try and beat the heat. Even though it was still warm, there were plenty of shaded areas to stay cool along with benches that were great for relaxing. There was also a breeze so that helped. Thought about spending an hour there but glad I paid for two hours of parking because I ended up staying for 1 & 1/2 hours. One of my favorite moments were simply sitting on a bench listening to all the birds. Hopefully you can hear them on the video. This is a peaceful place to unwind and definitely encourage you to visit.

I came on a really hot day, so I only saw about half of the place, but it was such a nice time by the ponds, creeks, and little lake. Beautiful wildlife to admire, too -- turtles, ducks, fish, and tons of dragonflies and other lovely creatures peacefully about. We spent a lot of time admiring a group of docile ducks and enjoying the shade by the water. They also have an online plant shop for those interested in gardening (with a great ongoing deal). Planning on purchasing from there and picking up so I have an excuse to stop by again. Loved my time here. Expect to enjoy yours too!

Lots of people walking dogs, there are trash cans, a few benches and picnic tables. Somewhat peaceful but lots of traffic right off the main roads. Hidden in a neighborhood behind some homes which is why I never knew it existed. Had a great afternoon here today with friends for a play date. Not a lot of parking here but they do have picnic tables and a cute park area and you can also bring ride on things, skateboards, scooters and bikes. It's a spacious park big inviting and pretty. They have some shade because they have a lot of trees, but it's nice to bring an easy up for birthdays because it does get quite hot out there. But I do love this park. I was hoping this park would have a smaller footprint or to be more grand in size, but it was still a good park. I did enjoy my walk around the park. Went around twice, since it wasn't a huge place - you have to actually make up your own route to get a good workout. But they also have an outdoor workout area. I think I'll have to try those out on my next visit. I did like sitting on one of their benches on the other end of the pond. And lots of parking, depending which lot you enter from.

There really is something for everyone and I love the surrounding "hiking" trails. Around the lake by the tennis courts there is also a free little library that have good quality books and sometimes I saw a stack of CDs as well. We have been here multiple times and will be back again to take a stroll after lunch.
