To:dr: I will return due to the quality of the work, the vision and artistry he brings to his tattoos, and the consultation he does to make sure the final products are what you want them to be. Full backstory: I've had a tattoo for over 15 years that I hated. An ill conceived Japanese dragon had been made worse when I gave a different artist free reign to rework the design, and the resulting concept just wasn't me Finally went in to consult with Bill and he asked what I was looking for. I told him that, knowing how hard coverups can be, I was considering maybe an armor, biotech, or solar system tat could fix it. He looked at it and said he could fix it a lot of ways... what had a wanted if I could do it from scratch? So I told him I'd always loved the idea of a full Harry Potter themed sleeve or half sleeve. He asked me to put together some ideas and send them over for him to put together and make it art. So I did 7 months later and four sittings in, and my upper half sleeve is complete and the lower half is in design. His work ethic is phenomenal, he takes great pride, and his finished projects are stunning. Thanks so much! Hell, when we have to move away from the east coast we will undoubtedly make trips back to Wilmington to get tatted up again because we just don't trust anyone else now! While we've gotten tiny easy tattoos on vacation at other places, we will NOT go anywhere else for our more complicated and detailed tattoos. The artists we've used (Verb & J-Rock) just understand their clients. We explain what we want, we provide pictures, and they give us back a masterpiece. It's obvious they understand their clients' unique personalities and tailor their work to accentuate the vibe you give off (or try to give off.) The final product is always infinitely more amazing than we are able to picture in our minds beforehand. I really cannot say enough good things about this place. Some might say it's "pricey" here; we always expect to pay talented artists well as they deserve it and the finished product is more than worth it. If you're nervous about your new piece of art and want to ensure you're getting exactly what you've envisioned (actually better), go nowhere else other than Northern Lights.

I went and someone else did it. They did the piercing completely incorrectly and it was a wholly unsanitary environment. After sticking the needle through my cartilage, they then took the needle out before attempting to put the jewelry in. After mangling my ear, they were unable to put the jewelry in. I had never experienced such pain (and I have body piercings that are supposed to be "the most painful piercings"). It is a day later and my ear is truly purple. I will have to go to the doctor on Monday, that is how bad it is. I tried to save some money since it is so cheap here but I definitely wish I would have paid the extra money for the piercing somewhere else instead of the doctor and the antibiotics I will have to take.

Its my biggest tattoo yet, so safe to say I was nervous at first! Let me tell you, Rachel was the sweetest artist I could have asked for for this piece. Not only is my tattoo amazing, to the point where I'm staring at it right now in tears because of how much I love it, but Rachel was SO patient with me during the whole process. She made sure that I was 10000% happy with the design before we started, and listened to any comments or changes I wanted before we started. I never felt intimidated, rushed, or uncomfortable at all. The studio is extremely clean and well managed with some of the nicest people you'd ever meet. Down to earth, wicked chill vibe. I felt so welcome and at home there, I honestly cant WAIT for the itch to return for me to get another tattoo because I absolutely will be coming to Double Diamond and asking specifically for Rachel. While waiting, I was reminded that leadtime for the tattoo is over a year, and I'd need to leave a down payment today. Ok, not ideal but I get it, no problem. 40 minutes later, no sign of Ryan and now I'm risking missing dinner plans. I mention to the lady at the desk that I've run out of time, and she goes to the back and Ryan comes out a minute later. I couldn't rely on the guy to follow through with the consultation, so I'm certainly not leaving a down payment and waiting a year. I'm not mad, just disappointed.
