They expect payment when scheduling before any work is done which is a bad sign and I definitely experienced some burnout vibes here: condescending attitude toward patient satisfaction, lacking empathy, and recommending work that I am not sure was necessary. Seem to care more about profit and really felt like they like the profit but not as much actually providing positive experiences here. Would definitely not recommend for anyone with dental anxiety. Regret scheduling here, and only really went because I didn't know Dental Health Associates in Lakewood started taking military insurance.

The entire team stayed on, which says a lot about Dr. Choi. The other day I went in for a scheduled filling. They found, after numbing my gum and a few quick races with their brand new little x-ray gun (which makes it incredibly easy by the way) that there were a few small cracks in the tooth, but actually no cavity. Since I have terrible insurance right now and couldn't really afford to pay for the service, Dr. Choi said "no problem. We can defer this and there will be no charge for today." it is so refreshing these days when so much in life is so transactional. They then reccomended a different, more intensive cleaning, which was not covered by insurance. When they told me how much it would cost, I declined that procedure. They then declined to provide the covered cleaning. So, I essentially paid $900 to have a dentist decline to clean my teeth. Very frustrating. I know they don't provide this level of service to everyone bit this was my unfortunate experience.

Then along comes Dr. Winter to blow all my expectations out of the water. He may be Hollywood-handsome, but he knows his dentistry!! When he started to hint that a root canal was needed, I completely shut him down. He didn't argue with me. That's how gentle he is. His assistant Trish waited until I was ready for more info and she educated me, then Dr. Winter confirmed why this was the optimal solution for my particular dental concerns. More info always helps me make decisions like this -- vs. info that is scattershot and untrustworthy online. Trish gave me all the factual info I was missing. And then the hygienist Addie blew my mind with all the info she provided on how I can avoid spending more $ than necessary on the periodontal cleanings I need 4x a year. She really listened to all my concerns, and while she had my complete attention (meaning I couldn't yak since she was working on my teeth) she "brain-dumped" all the info I told her I was craving. She knows how to tailor her message to her audience. All without missing a beat as she cleaned my teeth. Great multi-tasker! Incredibly, she managed to turn my few remaining uncrowned teeth to an ivory to match my other teeth. Gone is all the yellow -- in a single cleaning! Why haven't other hygienists in the past done this for me??? Maybe because they were trying to sell me on whitening treatments I wonder? I can't take the risk of bleaching my sensitive teeth, and Addie totally sympathized. She gave me a crash course in protecting my teeth going forward. And last but most emphatically not least, this clinic has the most impressive technological advances I've seen at previous dentist offices. You'd think all this state-of-the-art technology would cost up the ying-yang but they really aren't any more expensive than the other dentists' offices I've dealt with. Had a good experience with the care team. The doctor and staff were kind. They surprised me with an…read more$800 deposit due at the time that I sat in the OR after my vitals were already taken and check-in was complete. And mind you they have a 15% charge if you miss your appointment. So if you couldn't pay what happens? I didn't have 800 dollars I wasn't even aware it was due until after I was getting prepped. I asked if I can put 200 for now. They made an exception but it just felt really weird and messed up. That's all I had for the next two weeks. I was scared. Usually it's courteous to give a rough estimate before the appointment so one comes prepared. This is with insurance so they were attempting to charge me based on my policy coverage prior to billing occurring. They also didn't offer me any options prior for the wisdom teeth removal whether it be local or IV sedation. It was just a charge list that they handed to me without offering any options. They also didn't talk about any changes that are possible for the sedation process which is the pricey area. Make sure you guys advocate for yourselves and make informed decisions before you walk into any office. Make sure to call and inquire about patient responsibility too so you come prepared for your appointment or have to reschedule. This is something they really need to work on and I'm really disappointed. But I'll end on a positive note, doctor called me in the evening to check on me. Office was responsive when I told them about my stitches coming out. They gave great after care instructions and provided appropriate pain management.

Dr. Womack was even able to get an IV in my arm which in my 36 years on this earth has any other doctor been able to! They will work with you as far as payment. They request a deposit the day of surgery, then you have 3 months to pay the balance.
