The entire team stayed on, which says a lot about Dr. Choi. The other day I went in for a scheduled filling. They found, after numbing my gum and a few quick races with their brand new little x-ray gun (which makes it incredibly easy by the way) that there were a few small cracks in the tooth, but actually no cavity. Since I have terrible insurance right now and couldn't really afford to pay for the service, Dr. Choi said "no problem. We can defer this and there will be no charge for today." it is so refreshing these days when so much in life is so transactional. I have never stayed with a dentist until this group. I have an irrational fear of needles which I understand is stupid since I have piercings and tattoos, but something about shoving a needle in your mouth to what feels like the the back of skull just freaks me out. I let Dr. Tammy know this and I now want her to do every shot I ever have to have! I'm not lying when I say I didn't feel most of them. The only ones I SLIGHTLY felt were the ones in the roof of the mouth, but I barely felt those as well. For comparison the last dental office that took a needle to the roof of my mouth had me literally jumping out of the chair in pain. That was the only time in my history that I had considered climbing the cabinets and hissing at a dentist like a feral cat. Dr.'s Victor and Tammy always have you laughing and feeling comfortable. Then along comes Dr. Winter to blow all my expectations out of the water. He may be Hollywood-handsome, but he knows his dentistry!! When he started to hint that a root canal was needed, I completely shut him down. He didn't argue with me. That's how gentle he is. His assistant Trish waited until I was ready for more info and she educated me, then Dr. Winter confirmed why this was the optimal solution for my particular dental concerns. More info always helps me make decisions like this -- vs. info that is scattershot and untrustworthy online. Trish gave me all the factual info I was missing. And then the hygienist Addie blew my mind with all the info she provided on how I can avoid spending more $ than necessary on the periodontal cleanings I need 4x a year. She really listened to all my concerns, and while she had my complete attention (meaning I couldn't yak since she was working on my teeth) she "brain-dumped" all the info I told her I was craving. She knows how to tailor her message to her audience. All without missing a beat as she cleaned my teeth. Great multi-tasker! Incredibly, she managed to turn my few remaining uncrowned teeth to an ivory to match my other teeth. Gone is all the yellow -- in a single cleaning! Why haven't other hygienists in the past done this for me??? Maybe because they were trying to sell me on whitening treatments I wonder? I can't take the risk of bleaching my sensitive teeth, and Addie totally sympathized. She gave me a crash course in protecting my teeth going forward. And last but most emphatically not least, this clinic has the most impressive technological advances I've seen at previous dentist offices. You'd think all this state-of-the-art technology would cost up the ying-yang but they really aren't any more expensive than the other dentists' offices I've dealt with. I needed some work done badly with a tooth and I called the Black Lake office and they had a walk in appointment time the same day. I can't tell you how at ease Carla made me in prepping for the Dr. She was reassuring, and positive and upbeat the whole time, and that helped tremendously. She was very apologetic about the Dr. being late but I was in NO rush, to so it was all good. When Dr. Prince came in he also was very apologetic about running late but he was meeting with the boss so I completed understood. Dr. Prince basically picked up where Carla left off, he explained in depth what was going on with my tooth, what my options were, and what best case scenarios and worst case scenarios looked like. I explained to him my history of dental visits and he said he completely understood and had been doing this for years (like what since he was 12) he didn't look to be older than 27-28? The worst part for me has always been the injection in my mouth for numbing, he assured he "had this" and he was on point. I felt nothing. Everything and I mean everything from then on was basically worry free. Dr Prince even had jokes, at the end of the extraction he said "ok here come the hard part" I immediately tensed up until he said "we are done" I couldn't believe it, amazing. It takes a lot to impress this old man, but I was blown away by the ease of it all. Dr. Prince and Carla are my DYNAMIC DOU of Dentistry and I actually look forward to going back for the rest of the procedures and follow up. Billing errors are not the responsibility of the customer. I had a verbal agreement to the procedure and paid according to the insurance company. Prior approval from the insurance company was received and costs were clearly stated. I was fraudulently billed for "enhanced" teeth cleaning when in reality it was a standard teeth cleaning as I have gotten all of my life. I had to refer this matter to the Washington State Attorney General and the Better Business Bureau. Sound South Family Dental & Dentures refused to cooperate with the BBB. The accountant provided a false statement to the AG's office. Avoid trouble and stay away from this business.

We booked a back-to-back appointments at the clinic, and the experience left A LOT to be desired. Both the front office and the care made us feel extremely uncomfortable and like they were after our $$ - we will be finding another dentist. Here are the "lowlights" of our experience: - The first time I called to set up an appointment, I was put on hold and waited for a good 25 minutes before I hung up. - My husband had an 8am appointment and was in there for about 1.5 hours before he was seen by Dr. Lee. - They took additional x-rays, but did not disclose that these images would have additional cost to us. We were not given a clear reason why this was necessary; they made it seem like it was standard procedure. - Dr. Lee seemed like a mild-mannered man, but he spent barely any time inspecting our teeth and was quick to suggest additional procedures. I was expecting a thorough dental exam like I got from my previous dentist. At this clinic, the dental assistant examined my teeth for a few minutes after taking the x-rays, then I was made to wait much longer than the time Dr. Lee actually spent with me. - Dr. Lee found 2 "cavities" in my husband's teeth, and he has never had cavities in his life. Apart from missing his cleaning earlier this year because of the move, he has regularly seen the previous dentist. - Dr. Lee suggested 3 fillings for me - one for a "recurring cavity" and two to cover a slightly receding gum. My previous dentist (who I saw just a month ago) never mentioned needing any of the fillings Dr. Lee suggested. - In addition to the fillings, Dr. Lee suggested cleaning to me. I had to tell him that I had it done in May, then he changed his mind and said I'd get it done in 6 months (which is what I would have expected in the first place). - I was charged some fees when I checked out, my husband was not (he had left after his appointment). When I called their office to inquire about the discrepancy, they said maybe my husband "slipped out" before they could settle the bill with him! In fact, my husband had spent extra time at check-out discussing his follow-up visit and the associated fees.
