Doctors, Cramer, and Chung are very clear with their explanations and steadfast with the plan, which I appreciate.

We appreciated the pre appointment paperwork was sent to us electronically prior which streamlined the check in process in the comfort of our own home. The decor, lighting, and seating in the office, along with the complimentary coffee, tea, and cold water were lovely and very welcoming. My husband is mobility challenged, and the doorways were wide enough to accommodate. There was a little children's table with books to help entertain the little tykes. We were thoroughly impressed with all of the staff members who took their time explaining everything. They have a "comfort menu" listing several spa like amenities that are free to choose from in order to make your dental visit as enjoyable as possible. I chose the warm, moist neck, wrap, the heat and massage on the dental chair, the aromatherapy with lavender, and the paraffin wax hand treatment, which were all special touches. For United States veterans, we were told that they do work with the VA in getting community care referrals. They also offer $50 referral bonuses. And lastly, I would like to say that they do have a large handicap accessible restroom, which was large enough for my husband's wheelchair. Thank you tranquility dental wellness. I have had anxiety with dental visits since I had an adverse reaction as a young child. Thank you, we are elated to have found a wonderful new caring dental practice catering to tranquil patient experiences.

OUCH. I had a few visits at tranquility that all went well outside of yesterday. The dentist/ owner…read morewho I saw for the first time last friday recommended i have 2 fillings redone so i scheduled for monday. All the staff there are so kind but i have never felt like such an afterthought like yesterday. The dental assistant put the numbing gel on my gums and not even a minute later Dr. C walks in and gave me the numbing injections before the gel even kicked in. It was terribly painful and i felt gaslit the whole time with him making comments like "oh that means i got the right place." Ive had a lot of dental work done and have always been told whats happening during the process. That did not happen, the whole time he was just talking to his assistant about sports, his kids baseball team, ebikes, the tour de france and golf. It felt like i was the least important thing in the room. After the first he moved onto the 2nd and I felt the drilling and after the 2nd time i felt it and shooting pain down my leg he gave me another numbing shot, which I did feel pain during too. If i was numb i shouldn't have felt the shot. After a few he came back in and continued drilling and i still felt some shooting pain in my tooth. He blamed my "anatomy" and asked what i wanted to do. I asked how close we were to done and he said almost so i told him to continue and to finish the job while i was white knuckled the whole time. After the torture, i mean procedure was finished i paid for the service (which of course was more than what i was quoted on friday) and left. I talked to my husband when i got home and told him what happened and how the friday before they tried to collect a co pay from me for a routine cleaning. He said they charge him EVERY time he goes in for a cleaning, WHAT? Our insurance pays for 2 cleanings a year and i had never been charged. Shady billing procedures and the care factor is non existent. Today i am sore, sensitive, and honestly pretty upset. We will not be back.

The entire team stayed on, which says a lot about Dr. Choi. The other day I went in for a scheduled filling. They found, after numbing my gum and a few quick races with their brand new little x-ray gun (which makes it incredibly easy by the way) that there were a few small cracks in the tooth, but actually no cavity. Since I have terrible insurance right now and couldn't really afford to pay for the service, Dr. Choi said "no problem. We can defer this and there will be no charge for today." it is so refreshing these days when so much in life is so transactional. He just wanted to make sure that I had to care that I needed and that I could afford. This is a five star review. Thank you, Dr. Choi and welcome to the dental practice!

They then reccomended a different, more intensive cleaning, which was not covered by insurance. When they told me how much it would cost, I declined that procedure. They then declined to provide the covered cleaning. So, I essentially paid $900 to have a dentist decline to clean my teeth. Very frustrating. I know they don't provide this level of service to everyone bit this was my unfortunate experience.

I am extremely disappointed with Affordable Family Dental. My first (and only) experience with them…read morewas in September of 2024, and I'm still so upset about it that I felt compelled to write this review. I went there as a new patient to establish care, have X-rays taken, and get a cleaning. The receptionist was very standoffish and was under the impression that I had called to cancel my appointment (I had not). Despite arriving on time for my appointment, I was informed that there was not enough time for a cleaning and that they would only be able to take X-rays. This was frustrating, but not the end of the world. Dr. Dhanoa told me that I had a few cavities that needed to be filled, which was not a surprise, as I have always been cavity-prone. What did come as a shock, however, was when he informed me that I needed to have many old fillings re-done, amounting to 13 fillings altogether! This seemed odd to me, and I decided to get a second opinion from another dentist. I requested my dental X-rays from Affordable Family Dental multiple times - twice over the phone, and twice via email - and they never sent them to me despite my having filled out their records release authorization form. It was abundantly clear every time I called that the receptionist had no interest in helping me and could not wait to get off the phone. Two of the times I called in, she actually hung up before I had finished talking. I explained my situation to another local dentist, and thankfully, they were very understanding, were able to fit me in right away, and took a whole new set of X-rays for free (shout-out to Access Dental!). The new dentist said that I only needed to have the new cavities filled and that the other work that Dr. Dhanoa told me I needed was excessive. The impression I received was that Dr. Dhanoa was trying to squeeze as much money as he could out of my insurance. I also feel that his office is intentionally withholding my dental records. This is a violation of WAC 246-817-310 and HIPAA's 45 CFR § 164.524. Between this and the rude, incompetent front desk staff, I am flabbergasted that Affordable Family Dental has such high reviews. Something positive I would like to mention is my experience with the dental hygienist who took my X-rays, Stephany. She was very sweet and was aware of the discomfort that oral X-rays can cause. She worked quickly and told me to let her know if I needed a break. She was the bright spot in what was otherwise a frustrating and lackluster experience. While they have lost my business, I truly hope that Affordable Family Dental will take this feedback seriously and do better moving forward.
