I've had several procedures. I have a small mouth and the work is 100%. I don't experience pain, post procedure.

The crown she put on my implant caused persistent discomfort, both pain and strong pressure. She was not able to resolve it. It finally led to an oral surgeon throwing out the crown and having to remove the implant, my getting another bone graph, having another implant procedure, then getting another crown. The cost was considerable. The length of time without a tooth has been embarrassing. The office itself still has the charm of Dr Vetter. But Luck Dental has been the worst dental experience of my life. read more

The dental experience I had with the Vetter Clinic was the best dental experience I've ever had. I'm 40 and move around every so few years with my job. This place takes the cake! I came in for a cavity fill and a cleaning. Dr. Luck and her tech (I didn't catch her name... wish I did! She was incredible!) made me feel comfortable through the whole process, especially when getting the numbing shots. Kati (the dental hygienist) explained everything thoroughly and was very gentle. As a new patient, I found the entire experience and staff interactions to be top notch. I was very impressed. I've always had "good" dentists, but finding Vetter Dental was like finding an AMAZING dental office. I can get a little anxious in new settings, and found that everyone I interacted with was helpful, kind, and easy to talk to. You can get text or email reminders about your appointment, so you don't have to worry about forgetting. The waiting room is clean, well lit, and tidy with a selection of magazines such as Real Simple and Enquirer. The receptionist was friendly in a business-like manner and easily answered my few questions about insurance and paperwork, without making me feel dumb. My dental assistant was very careful, very mindful of any potential discomfort I might experience while she was taking my X-Rays. I was offered sunglasses for the bright overhead light. The dentist I met, Kristin Vernon, was cheerful and noted lots of issues out loud that I have never heard my previous dentists ever mention, but have always been aware of. She was very capable of easily addressing questions I had in a way that was plain and easy to understand. The dental hygienist who cleaned my teeth was friendly, cheerful, and very mindful of discomfort. They had options for numbing gels for discomfort ("it's Strawberry flavored!") and used a Sonic Pulsing Water jet for cleaning. The polish came in Mint, Bubble Gum or Sugar Cookie flavors too! I don't think I got a single piece of drool on my face at any point in the entire process, which is just a testament to how careful and attentive the whole team was. I love Vetter Dental. We moved from the San Francisco Bay Area 6 years ago and have gone through 3 dentists for various reasons [too expensive, or incompetent,[Dr Attila Tabaler] or not taking our Deltal Dental insurance, etc....When I had a horrible experience in trying to get an implant and the dentist [Dr. Tabaler], involved was incompetent and didn't do the procedure correctly to prepare for the implant--, [so the implant was impossible !]- Dr Coppin [another Terrific Dentist !], suggested going to Vetter Dental for a bridge instead of having the implant- [which, he said, would be faster and less expensive]... Dr Vernon@ Vetter Dental group, said she could not only do this, but that they also took Dental Dental and "could get the job done" [ a 'job' that I waited over 1 year for with a friggin 'flipper' in my mouth that Dr. Tabaler had put in !]. When I heard this news from Dr. Vernon, I so was elated ! Vetter Dental Grooup dentists are so competent and are located conveniently in Olympia... Pros: They will work with you on payment plans; accept credit cards; discount for paying with cash or check. Nice office, convenient location. Cons: Not the best quality dental care; poor bedside manner. I'm sorry to say I can't recommend Dr. Vernon. She was quite aggressive in the number of fillings she recommended for me, and for very tiny cavities. The drilling she had to do was probably more damaging to my tooth than the pre-cavity she was wanting to fill. My husband, who had not had regular dental care previously, had several fillings (the first in his life) done by Dr. Vernon. During a subsequent exam, Dr. Vernon criticized the quality of one of the fillings, saying "whoever did this..." Um, it was you. Dr. Vernon also lacks appropriate bedside manner. While working on my fillings, she was gossiping with her assistant, saying negative things about her child's teacher, and going on political rants. When I came in pregnant, and my nice hygienist pointed it out that congratulations were in order, Dr. Vernon said, "Oh, I couldn't tell, I thought she was just looking a little tubby." Right in front of me, in third person. Needless to say, that was my last visit to this office. I once saw a different dentist when Dr. Vernon was out, but she no longer works there and it was too brief of an encounter to judge. I don't know anything about the other dentists currently there. The hygienists are competent and friendly. The only negative thing I can say about the hygienists is more than once they pushed us to get fluoride treatments by trying to tell us that our insurance would pay for it, even though (1) we had no insurance, and we'd told her that, and (2) most insurance generally doesn't cover fluoride treatments for adults. read more

Dr. Vetter is terrible. Their financial system and billing system will screw you and she does terrible work. If you go here, you will get unfit crowns and be billed more than she ever will quote you for. One crown has costed $7,000 from her. Not to mention she'll do fillings when you don't really need them. I have always had good experiences at Vetter Dental, and this week was no exception. I suddenly had a situation and they got me in quickly both days. My regular dentist was out of town so I worked with two different dentists and their staff, and everybody was so nice, professional, efficient, friendly, personable, and worked hard to put me at ease during my appointments. I've always loved Vetter Dental and Mary Ann, and it's great to meet other dentists in the group and know I can count on them as well. I'd never go anywhere else! read more

This review is pretty late but it's an experience I think about every time I go to the dentist. I went to Vetter 5 years ago for a regular exam and cleaning. I was told that I had 9 cavities which was a total shock because at the time I'd only ever had one filling in my life. I went as far as booking appointments to get my "cavities" filled (yes, multiple appts bc they recommended so many fillings). My friends and family urged me to get a second opinion. Thank god I did because I learned Vetter's recommendation was a total scam. The second opinion I went to told me that I had two tiny cavities that didn't need to be filled immediately and could possibly heal with proper treatment. It's been 5 years since I went to Vetter and I've only needed to get one filling. At the time, I was a full-time student without insurance and was planning on taking out thousands in loans to pay for all the work that needed to be done because I was made to believe that it was urgent and that if it didn't happen soon, I might need a root canal in a couple months time. I don't remember which dentist I saw but that type of practice is predatory and I wouldn't trust anyone there. The financial exploitation is completely unethical as is drilling holes into a person's teeth unnecessarily...that experience instilled a general fear and mistrust of going to the dentist. read more

I came to this dentist office after bad experiences at my previous dentist. I have been here for 3 cleanings now and have had excellent experiences each time. Yesterday, Nissa was my hygienist and she was friendly and polite and had great bedside manner. Dr. Rentschler was great as always. I will forever be thankful to her because when I came in for my cleaning last year, she noticed a spot under my tongue that, upon biopsy, was not benign. I have since had surgery to remove it and all is well but I am very thankful she noticed it to begin with. I don't live in town anymore but I still make the 45-60 minute drive to come here. My wife and I recently moved back to the Olympia area and I've been tasked with looking for a dentist for us. I was amazed to see the overwhelmingly positive reviews that Vetter has received. Avoiding this office was the one caveat my wife gave me. We're both originally from Olympia and my wife has previous experience with Dr Vetter. About 7 years ago my wife's mother recommended she take our daughter there. She went in for sealants and a cleaning - but Vetter wanted to place silver caps on my daughter's teeth - her PRIMARY teeth! When my wife questioned her about it she rolled her eyes and acted insulted to be questioned. She quickly left the room afterward. It seemed pretty clear to her that Vetter was inventing a reason to rack up a major bill. They never went back. The dentist our daughter went to immediately after was amazed by this story and completely disagreed with Vetter's recommendation. read more

Vetter Dental sets the standard for customer service in the dental industry. I have moved since becoming a patient but am willing to make the drive just for the consistently great experience. They even accommodated my cranky four-month-old when I had to bring her with me on my last appointment. They took the stress totally out of the situation and actually had one of the hygienists come in to hold her for a bit when she started getting fussy. Totally unnecessary but a perfect example of how they go out of their way to make the experience and environment great every time. I just hope I don't move any further away. read more

My family goes here and it amazes me how they are able to work with very little kids and me (who hates going to the dentists). All of the ladies who have worked on my family have been great. Very kind, never have to wait in the waiting room and they take their time to explain everything to us even showing me things in my mouth with a camera! Who needs a kid dentist when you have the staff at Vetter Dental? I thought they would refer my little sister to a specialist when they saw how nervous she was about her first check up, but they put her right at ease! They even let her touch some of the equipment. The assistant had fun names for everything she used and it made her giggle. They put goggles on her and let her watch a cartoon while she sat in the dental chair. I didn't even know they made such a thing?! Thank you for making her first dental appointment a happy one! I cannot beleive they were able to take pictures of her teeth and polish them. She loved getting a prize out of the treasure chest and a new toothbrush at the end of her appointment. She keeps asking when she will get to visit the dentist again. I chose this dental group because they were rated 'Best of South Sound' by their patients in an Olympian survey. I saw Dr Rentschler. She was friendly, efficient, and thorough. She did a filling with minimal discomfort. Accommodating staff, pleasant well-quipped office without being ostentatious. Dr. R. didn't try to convince me I needed a lot of expensive work done that was unnecessary. (I never got out of my previous dentist's office without being told I needed several thousands of dollars worth of work done. I suspect much of it was for his $benefit, not mine.) read more

My appointment wasn't able to see Dr. MaryAnn Vetter, who was the dentist recommended by friends, but who wasn't taking new patients.
