I have been going to dentists in Los Algodones for several years, and my opinion is that Dr. Fernanda Gutierrez is the best of the best. She has knowledge and experience, as well as a very pleasant personality. Her prices are reasonable. She is not focused on dentistry as a business, but as a source of care. Dr. Fernanda has her own office, "Spark Dental," in the Gisella Plaza which is a nice area. It is near the border. Her assistant will meet you at the border, on the Mexico side where the benches are, and walk you to the office. Also, the Baja Pharmacy is at the corner of Gisella Plaza and very convenient. Dr. Fernanda prescribed an antiseptic mouthwash which is helping my gums. He is the only surgeon that made sure to get all the gas out of me before he was through and I had absolutely no gas pain. She also has a mind for saving costs when she can, and doesn't automatically jump to the most profitable option to solve a problem. For example, telling my daughter that she could get about the same whitening effect from using Crest Strips for a couple of weeks as having an expensive whitening treatment done in the office. His office is over the top in kids decor (weird if you happen to not be a kid), his office staff is disorganized-throw away forms you've already filled out, and he's got about 6 signs on the wall that make reference to charging you for every little thing (not insignificant charges either). I had an irritating disagreement the very first time I walked in over them wanting to charge me $300 for records. I said no, then he didn't even want to see over a years worth of records from a previous doctor, and told me he was the only one in town who exclusively does the Damon bracket (alluding that I wouldn't find anyone else). When I went BACK for a consultation, he realized then that I have clear brackets in the front (who doesn't notice that?), and that he doesn't have replacement parts and would not order them if he broke them. THEN, told me he'd have me in braces for an additional 9 months when my previous release date was 3 months away, let alone what the additional cost would be. He was pretty rude about everything, and made no attempt to secure my business. There are other orthodontist's offices (ABC orthodontics) that will work with you, would actually like to see your other doctor's records, and will not nickel and dime you to death (on a larger scale).
