I had seen a program about 3 months prior that talked about the high quality of dental care available at the "Molar City" in Mexico (aka Los Algodones). Remembering that show, I did a bit of research online and decided that Dental Solutions would be our clinic of choice, and I'm so glad I made that decision. First off, getting there from the Phoenix area was relatively easy. Just like taking a trip to Yuma. The border crossing was a very smooth and easy process and once on the other side we called a number gives to us by the clinic and were picked up in their shuttle car by a friendly and personable driver. In reality, the clinic is walking distance from the border (about 4 blocks) and we actually walked back, but the shuttle was a nice option as well. The clinic itself is a newer 3-story building, well constructed and designed. It had the same quality of design and feel as our regular dentists' office in upscale Scottsdale. The front desk staff was friendly and the check-in process was rather simple and straight-forward. In minutes after check in my wife and I both headed back separately and were examined and evaluated by the staff. Everyone spoke clear English and they confirmed what work needed to be done. The cost for all the work that was suggested was approximately 25% of what we we were quoted by our US dentist, and even with adding Zoom whitening it was still drastically less than what we would pay in the states. A big positive was that they freely accepted IS credit cards including Amex, which showed me that they have confidence in the work they provide given the patients power to dispute with cards. Once we had our procedures it went very smooth.. The dentist and dental techs involved were friendly and communicative and did a great job. All the equipment was new and state-of-the-art--again feeling no different than our Scottsdale dental experiences. A month and a half after doing work and everything feels great. Our teeth are healthy and white. We will be going back in September and bringing our teenage kids as well. As an added bonus, the city of Algodones is quaint and charming and we enjoyed a nice lunch and some shopping afterwards. If you need major dental work don't pay insane prices just because you live in the US--I'd strongly suggest you give Dental Solutions a call. You'll get great care and service at a price that is affordable without sacrificing quality of care.

Arriving for my appointment I was taken back at my appointment time. The front office staff are very professional and friendly. After x-rays and photos I returned and waited for the evaluation. After about 20 minutes I was called and they reviewed my choices. I knew everything that needed to be done from two other quotes done in the US. I also knew the manufacturer of materials used. Their plan was spot on, three implants, crowns, root canal and crown. Cost 8200. It's been about a year 1.5 yrs and I am very happy with the work that was done. It's a process so I had to return a few times.My last visit was to have my teeth cleaned again while my wife had her invisalign checked. The doctor came in and looked over his work, all is well All the doctors were very thorough and detailed on their work, Very impressed with the group and would highly recommend them. The issues I experienced included: - A bridge that failed within the warranty period - Crowns that cracked and required replacement - Implant-related complications - A root canal that an independent U.S. dentist later confirmed was not completed Despite multiple visits to allow the clinic to correct these issues, the problems were not resolved. They then called in a specialist, who confirmed the office couldn't do his work. She also looked in my mouth for 1 minute to confirm a question one of the assistants (maybe another dentist) had about my cavity. All said and done, they couldn't do what we made the appointment for, let a dentist who they acknowledge shouldn't be practicing anymore, and then had the audacity to overcharge for it all! When we said we didn't want to pay extra for services we didn't ask for, the daughter of the dentist/office manager called the police and tried to cry to them that we said we were refusing to pay (which is a pretty bold lie while standing in the lobby cash-in-hand). She spoke over me as I tried to talk to the police, yelled at me (while complaining that I was raising my voice, though I couldn't have gotten a word in edge-wise) and continued her fantasy that we asked for these extra services and were now refusing to pay. Unfortunately we decided to let this EXTORTION win because we just wanted to get back home (a long drive we never would have made had she just told us over the phone that they couldn't do that type of impression). So now we spent all day driving and essentially spent hundreds to have who knows what put in our mouths on a geriatric dentist's hands, get one filling and get the cops involved. Unsanitary, over-priced, arrogant extortion. I'm not sure what I expect, but I will be reporting to Ministry of Public Health and any other body that would oversee them. But in the meantime, go anywhere else.
