Ordered: Chicken finger platter Sweet Potato Souffle Sweet Tea This was my first visit here, and I was pleasantly surprised when we were offered rolls and corn bread. It is such an easy thing for restaurants to offer, and I give major points for free food. The corn bread was delicious, and I was happy that the butter it came with was the smart balance butter I have at home. Our food arrived shortly after we finished the rolls which was great. My chicken fingers were different than I expected, but in a good way. The batter made the fingers crispy, almost like a tempura batter you would find at a sushi restaurant. They were a little greasy, but still delicious. I also enjoyed my sweet potato souffle. Having a sweet tooth, it is hard to disappoint me with anything if it has sugar in it! Roaster's is a simple pleasure- they don't make much use of, say, goat cheese or even arugula lettuce. That said, it's a fun place with lots of options that runs very well. The rotisserie chicken is very good, as are the side dishes. The creamed spinach in particular is extremely tasty. I like the Santa Fe chicken, without cheese, if I'm trying to eat light. The pico de gallo sauce, rice, and chicken really combine to form a nice package. The fish tacos are good, too. Come to think of it, I've ordered and enjoyed more different dishes at Roasters than at most of the places I go to, where I have a tendency to stick to one or two favorites. I suppose that reflects well on Roasters. The facility itself is unpretentious and comfortable, with lots of parking. I got a combo plate of 1/4 dark and bbq pork with mashed potatoes and Mac and cheese. The 1/4 chicken was amazing, the pork was good, both side were delicious. We can as a party of 17 and they quickly rearranged tables to accommodate us. We only waited 10 minutes. They put lots of bread baskets on our table, corn bread was incredible. Good, if not exceptional southern cuisine. Roasters delivered just what we expected. The ambience was less than desirable, dim, with waitstaff who are not terrifically professional. The food was hot and prepared quickly. I ordered the rotisserie chicken which was tender, juicy and quite flavorful. The BBQ sauce was not necessary, nor was it unique. I also had the German potato salad (good for a few bites) and their very satisfying okra. I also enjoyed my wife's sweet potato soufflé. My teenaged daughter, MaddieKate, felt her pulled chicken sandwich was "okay" but all she could taste was "the meat"... Which seems to indicate that it was perhaps bland or uninspiring. She had "as expected" Mac and cheese, "pretty good, but not the best ever". They do know how to make sweet tea, but then I've had better. Good, moderately priced, fresh and fast. But it's not a joint you're going to bring up in conversation the next day at work. read more

Great restaurant! I went with my girlfriend the other night and this place was on their A-game. We were seated right away. We got our drinks ordered and got some delicious cornbread and rolls. Our waiter was very nice and fast and he had our food on the table literally 5 minutes after we ordered! I got the BBQ pork platter with baked beans and the mac n cheese. We were in/out in under an hour, and even on a busy night. Our server kept the food coming at just the right pace... As someone always in search of good barbecue places, I came across this one using the GPS. Of course the first thing I thought of was Kenny Rogers Roasters from Seinfeld. This was a different beast altogether though. I did not find a bucket of chicken, but they did have a lot of meat. I got a platter with beef brisket and pulled pork. I usually prefer my pulled pork in sandwich form and sliced for eating plain, but oh well. It was decent, as was the brisket. Nothing too special or worth driving out of my way for though. Fries were okay, corn was okay. The only thing I really liked were the yeast rolls. I love yeast rolls and whenever a place has them I have to eat at least four. These were not as good as the ones at Texas Roadhouse, but were still good. This place was very two stars for me. Meh is the right word. The servers were nice, the manager came over to see if everything was good so they get good ratings on customer service, they just need to have better barbecue. A wide variety of quick barbeque and sides make this a good stop for the southerner in me, but it's not a stand-out place. Like I said, the food is decent - better than I expect from a chain, and there are a lot of options for sides and main dishes. Unfortunately, the brisket I had was pretty dry (not the worst I've had, but not good either). Luckily there were a lot of sides that made up for it - the fried okra was my favorite - and my mates enjoyed their meals so I can't complain too loudy. The restaurant was pretty dark though - it was 6PM or so but I wondered if some bulbs were out. I guess it might be ok for a first date with the atmosphere, but I would rather have brigher lighting. The service was functional, but nothing particularly special. Attentive but not friendly. I chalked it up to a bad night. The prices were very reasonable - $40 for 3 adults and a kids meal. read more

A less than memorable experience last night. My husband and I frequent Roasters quite often and have for years! Last nights dinner of rotisserie chicken (white meat) was very dry and crumbled when we cut it up instead of being moist and juicy. Seemed like it had been sitting in a warmer for much too long. I tried Roasters for the first time today. I went for lunch and the food is amazing! It is conveniently located off of Roswell Rd. I placed a to go order since I was on my lunch break. The staff was very friendly, and I received my order in less than 10 minutes. The menu reminded me of Boston Market, but the food doesn't even compare. It was bursting with flavor. I ordered the chicken, creamed spinach, cinnamon apples, and corn muffins. Everything was great! I will definitely be coming back and marking this down as one of my favorite spots. read more

My first time coming to Roasters was last weekend & the food was quite delicious. They brought out warm and soft cornbread and rolls when we first sat down, which was perfect 'cause I was starving. I order the half rack of ribs with fries and mac & cheese. The food came out fairly quickly. The meat was so tender & literally falling off the bones. & The mac & cheese was cooked to perfection in my opinion. My friends got the meat loaf & the Mexican chicken breast. One of my friends expressed how she loved how the meat loaf slices were nice & thick. & my friend who got the Mexican chicken breast liked how it was seasoned quite well and how it had beans that came with meat. Now the server was had made our experience at Roasters even better. He was very sociable & knew the menu very well. He came to check on us a good bit, but not too much. & The environment was nice. I was excited because I heard positive reviews from friends at another location and coworkers for this location. Went for the early dinner tonight. Decided to get bbq brisket and the sides being sweet potato souffle and fried green tomatoes. Well I was very disappointed. The sweet potato souffle was crumbly, not smooth like normal souffles. The green tomatoes didn't have much of a flavor unless I dipped it in the spicy ranch and the tomatoes didn't seemed very cooked like the southern style I am used to. The brisket was more like pot roast. Overall very disappointed since I am a true foodie. The best think was the hot rolls they brought out in the beginning. Oh well. read more

This was my second time here. The bread and cornbread they give you is good. I especially like the cornbread. I ordered lemon pepper wings to share and when they brought the food with two small plates, there was a small, curly hair on one of them. When they brought our entrees, I asked them to take back the small plates. Only then did I realize there was a long, black hair in my salad. The waiter promptly removed the salad and brought me a new one. It was unnerving to have hair show up twice in one visit. Overall the food wasn't bad. I ate most of my salad. I've had better tasting lemon pepper wings. My friend ordered the white bean chicken chili and that looked good I might try that if I ever go back. I ordered a delivery through Doordash today which consisted of Roasted Chicken, Cornbread Dressing, Green Beans and Key Lime Pie. Doordash's delivery was good as always, however this food was horrible. Nothing was seasoned, the dressing was sugery sweet yet had no flavor, the chicken was dried out and had no flavor and the green beans were also flavorless. I spent $28.00 and could not eat this food it was that awful. I certainly will not order from this establishment again. I had never heard of Roasters until I started working in Sandy Springs. I have to admit I wasn't too excited about a restaurant focused on rotisserie chicken, but I was pleasantly surprised. The menu is very diverse, and the food in delicious. They also provide hot rolls and cornbread which I can never pass up. I visited last week with my colleagues, and our server was Pepe. He. Was. Awesome. He was funny and attentive and gave great menu recommendations. The owner, Steve, also stopped by and thanked us for coming and treated us to dessert. We had a great all around experience. Always reliable. I frequently get the family deal with a whole chicken and two sides and it's usually about $20. But everything here is good. If you like southern comfort food, this is the place. I have been to roasters twice and both experiences have been phenomenal. Definitely come here if you want a nice southern meal! Both times I was here with my puppy and i love how there is outdoor seating with umbrellas! It is conveniently situated in a busy plaza with trader joes and other shops off of roswell road, so parking was not hard at all. The menu is straight forward with their daily specials listed next to the entrance, and they specializes in chicken, ribs and veggies. The prices were very fair for the amount of food you get, it is definitely a huge portion and a very hearty meal! Their options of side dishes were also vast, and the food tasted very authentic and home-made. They also serve complimentary biscuits and rolls with butter while you wait which is nice, but the food came out super fast as well! I did notice alot of older senior citizens dining in this place, and alot of them seem like regulars! This place is very underrated and definitely deserves more attention! Not sure what was souffle about tge sweet potatoes, but they were delicious and a huge serving; I would have liked a few bites more if mashed potato and a little less of tge sweet potato.
