This is simply the best, most consistent breakfast place in town. It's busy nearly every day and mostly regulars. The egg and pancake/french toast items check all the boxes you expect but to me, the most special items are the baked goods. Muffins, cookies, cakes and pies along with several kinds of bread are on the menu every day. The muffin menu alone usually has 4 or 5 different choices and they go far beyond the standards. Service was great! Food was fair for its price. ample parking space. Great view in the parking lot, overlooking. Ambiance is a typical american diner where veterans hangout to read and get their coffee in the morning. They accept credit card. Table spacing is close but not tight for limited movement. Probably 30-40 people could max out the tables and chairs. read more

I'll start by saying I've never had a bad meal or experience at roasters!!! However, they just became the 3rd local small restaurant to use the "that menu is so old" line. I don't care how old it is! When I go on your website to view the menu and a sandwich is $8.95 then I show and am charged over $14.00!!! Not cool! It's a photo of a menu! Take a current one and be fair to your customers! This cafe is country cute inside. (& the bathrooms were clean!!!) When you walk in there's a bakery display case and it looks like the specials board is all they serve...but if you take a table they will bring you a menu & serve you. The bread was homemade and delicious. The tomato and ham omelette was seasoned well but I couldn't decide if the ham was prepackaged or if they're roasting hams and using a slicer. Over easy eggs were cooked perfectly! At so many places they over cook them. Orange slices on plate were fresh. The negative? The potatoes were boring. No seasonings. Just the taste of the oil they were cooked in. The bakery selection looked great but the chocolate cake we tried was a bit dry. The staff was very friendly! read more

Roasters is a great place to catch an early breakfast before heading out to the slopes, snowmobiling, or hiking. They open at 6:00am. It's fairly small but they can accommodate a group of eight if the tables are rearranged. As you walk in, you will notice the interesting floor. The building used to be used by a company that sold flooring. The samples are still built into the floor. As for breakfast food, they serve American but with a French Canadian twist. You can get omelettes, scambles, muffins, pancakes, etc. They also serve quiche with either a salad or a fruit cup. The quiches are made there and they are quite good. There are many types of coffee so ask before you have her fill your mug. The food quality is a solid "good" but not "wow." Portions are a good size as well. Around 75% of their clients are locals and the rest are visitors. Many are regulars. read more

A small deli cafe which serves up hearty a hearty breakfast. We stopped in for breakfast on a recent camping holiday weekend. About twelve tables fill this small space which is brightly decorated with local country artwork and bright paint. The menu is quite traditional, with a focus on homemade. Huge blueberry pancakes with real VT maple syrup, homemade corned beef hash, and delicious homemade bread (go with the oatmeal raisin) are the stars here. They serve strong VT Coffee roasters. I hope to come back for lunch and try a sandwich on that outstanding bread. Located feet off I-91 exit 28 on Rt 5 across from Shaw's plaza. read more

Seriously, the most delicious homemade hash we have ever had. We ordered an iced orange pumpkin muffin and it was so good, dense, not dry at all. The homemade oatmeal raisin bread and homemade bacon quiche were also so delicious!! The coffee was rich and served piping hot. Our waitress was very pleasant. My husbands eggs prepared over easy were perfect. We would absolutely go back again on our way back from Canada. Very clean restaurant! Thank you Roasters!!! read more

It's not really a comment on the restaurant itself, but the first thing that struck me about Roaster's Grill & Deli is that the building (just off I-91) , built right on the edge of a drop-off that gives one a lovely vista of Vermont mountains and countryside... but the only place one can enjoy it is from the parking lot. That said, this is an excellent boutique deli/restaurant obviously run by people who enjoy food. The kitchen is visible from the dining room, always a bonus in my view, and the wait staff was pleasant and efficient. For the information-enabled crowd, the deli offers free wifi. My wife had a baked chicken Caesar salad and I tried their Beefalo burger with a side of French fries. Both were excellent. read more

We were coming back into the US from Canada and were desperate for a cup of coffee, so we got off of I-91 south at exit 28 and were delighted to find Roasters right across from the off-ramp. They operate a nice clean restaurant with friendly staff and a variety of good food and homemade bread! We got sandwiches on sourdough rolls and our 'coffee stop' turned into a nice lunch. read more

We happened upon this place while visiting relatives. It is now a regular stop for us every time we are up that way. They have the best donuts and crullers. The "subs" are really more like gourmet sandwiches. At its best the roast beef is about the best I've ever had. Everything they bake is terrific. Very friendly service though things get a bit chaotic at times. Portions are medium to small -- just right for me but maybe not the place to take the football team after the big game. Over rated. Rude service. Bad food. Very expensive. First time I went, never going back. We had to wait almost 5 minutes before a waitress came to give us a menu and ask if we wanted coffee even tho this place is super tiny. Then we had to flag down the second waitress to take out order since the waitress who first gave us menus was just standing there drinking coffee ignoring us. Both of us ordered Ruben sandwiches. I could see our order waiting to be brought out from the kitchen but they waited almost 10 mins to bring it out while the waitreses chatted with locals. By the time we got out food it was cold and the bread was soggy from sitting so long. The meat in the sandwiches was so fatty that you could hardly bite through it and tendrils of fat would stretch from my mouth from the sandwich as i pulled it away. NASTY. After we were served NO ONE came to see if we wanted more coffee or even refilled the water. For 2 sandwiches with fries was over 30$! Not worth it. The staff only seems to provide good service to thier personal friends. Not going back. read more

If you're looking for fantastic breakfast or lunch, this is the place to eat! Homemade doughnuts, muffins and pastries of all types. The staff is excellent and the customer service was spectacular. The menu offers a great variety of foods, and the selection of specials that aren't on the menu have had our family making this our favorite place to stop each time we visit. We've tried other local places to eat, and Roasters is the best by far. We don't leave hungry and our wallet is smiling too!
