We had a 630 reservations and they were packed but we got sat right away. Lovely services. Apps came out fast. Dinner was ok, my stuffed stuffed shrimp were covered in a cheese sauce I wasn't expecting. Very cozy bar area. Great martinis- love a place who makes a great French martini! read more

The service is consistently awful, they make you feel like you shouldn't be there. I have tried to make it work year after year as a snowmobile ride destination, terrible. The salads are really good but the rest of the menu is average at best. Will not be going back. read more

We came here for the restaurant on a Tuesday evening in late March (ie mid week and off peak season). So it wasn't too busy and we didn't have to wait for a table or sit at the bar. There aren't too many tables either as it's a small restaurant at an inn. Great service from their wait staff and food portions are huge! The food was great and we took plenty of leftovers home. This was my second time visiting the restaurant. First time was around Covid time. This time around, I was with my family and a big disappointment. I do not recommend this restaurant to minorities....not only was our experience unpleasant but I as entered the restaurant the waiters couldn't hide their displeasing facial expressions and statements of having to serve an interracial couple. I decided to stay with my family but this was a mistake. We waited one hour for our food. 3 families came after us, served after us, got their food before us and left before we got our food. I had to ask our server for an update about our food and was told there was a big party however how was it possible these other parties totaling 6 individuals were served before my family that totaled 4 and our order was taken first. Visit the Junction Restaurant about 10 minutes down the road- excellent service, pleasant atmosphere, exquisite food, and the staff makes you feels welcomed- we went twice during our stay this time and regretted not going this morning. read more

THE PORTIONS ARE HUGE! BE AWARE!!! The chicken parmesan could easily feed 4 normal people. The nachos were served on a plate the size of a pizza pan. The salad was in a hugely tall bowl. That aside, the food itself was pretty good. I enjoyed getting the nachos with just salsa and cheese as opposed to all the other toppings. Caesar salad was good but heavy on dressing. Parm was served on angel hair pasta which I enjoyed. So overall it's pretty good. Then again it's not like you have many options around here. Comprehensive drink menu with cheap choices for beer. They serve Smirnoff ice as well for $3.75. Place was reasonably full even on a Monday night. Get there early to ensure a seat. read more

We have been here several times now and we love the atmosphere especially when it's chilly and the fireplace is blazing! We loved the big platter of meats which was enough for lunch the next day even after my husband and I ate our full! The cocktails were delicious and pretty and so was the poutine. This is my second time staying at JWI and it was still as amazing as the first time! The price can't be beat! We came up with friends and booked a two bedroom suite with a shared bathroom and for the price of two days was still cheaper than staying at Jay Peak Resort! I still am not too familiar with restaurants or bars around Jay because we always stay at JVI the food is amazing! Reasonable and affordable price and big portions! I got the first night for dinner the chicken parm and it was massive, had to bring the rest upstairs. And then the next two days for breakfast I had the eggs benedict and then the bacon sausage and biscuits! I give it 5 stars across the board. I will obviously be coming back and staying here when we come back like we always do! The staff is very friendly and accommodating!  Thank you for always showing us a good time and feeding our bellies with such amazing food! read more

We did the whole JVI experience- lodging and dinner & breakfast. Food was a 5! Lodging- rustic B&B style rooms worked perfectly for a family of 4 2 bedrooms with a bath in between for $165/night. Comfortable beds, cable tv and a mini fridge in each room. Rooms were hot had temp set at 55 but stayed at 70 probably because rooms are right above the restaurant. Inn had a sauna and hot tub too (both clean) Restaurant - first can't beat walking down the stairs to a bar and restaurant. Pls note there was no restaurant noise in the rooms we had Bar good selection of VT drafts and a ton of specialty drinks with a VT flair. Food was outstanding- now we didn't got for some of the fancier options like blue cheese and truffle encrusted NY Sirloin but what we had was great. Poutine was authentic and delicious. JVI Burgers very good with a great garlic onion mushroom sauté on top of blue cheese. Pulled pork was spot on. They smoke all their meats on premise. Breakfast the next morning. Look at the portions - no one finished and everyone shared! Food again was fantastic! Perfect place to stay for Indy Pass holders and all Jay Peak lodging comes with tickets. We went here for two nights on our ski trip because it was super close to our lodgings and when over a foot of snow falls, you want to go somewhere close! This place has a northern New England ski vibe inside, with a big fire going and rustic charm. This place is known for large portions and we saw it with our own meals but also those who ordered around us. Huge margs and ice cream sundaes for one! My bf's bbq platter the first night came with tons of meat, coleslaw, and a big bowl of fries. I had quite a large cut of swordfish as well that was super good that came with potato and veggie. On the menu I considered getting a steak but it was a 14 oz cut of meat! Wow! The second night we went with their 'lighter meals' options, with me getting a fried chicken sandwich and the bf a supreme quesadilla, along with delicious poutine with beef gravy for a change. Tasty food, a good menu, and also a long cocktail menu with both hot and cold drinks. The service was great the first night but so so the second. The pats game was on and they seemed perhaps understaffed? They were apologetic and it only took away from the meal in that we were tired after two days of skiing and were looking forward to going to bed haha. Best pub food in the area! We stayed at the Jay Peak Resort and the food at the resort restaurants were not very good. We were so happy this place and its only a 5 min straight shot drive from the resort! We started with the Nachos they were huge and very tasty with very fresh ingredients. I had the cheddar burger and it was Honestly one of the best burgers I have ever had! Cooked and seasoned perefectly :) The fries were very tasty as well. My wife had the grilled chicken salad which was also a huge portion and she said was very fresh and tasty. Our server was excellent as well. read more

We ordered a bbq platter for $26 and a full rack of ribs for $29. Got a full rack of ribs but in the bbq platter was a half rack of ribs and only two thin slices of brisket. BBQ platter was supposed to have chicken and pulled pork in there and when I called them they said everything is weighted and they don't do pork and chicken because it's not in the menu, but it was clearly in there. ugh, where do I begin here. 3 strikes and your out. I have been here 3 times with my wife and it was quite possibly the worst display of professionalism I had ever seen. food sucked, drinks sucked, service sucked. I think the only reason people come here is because it's really the only thing around in that town. I'm a retired chef of 35 years and a retired firefighter. we would usually sit at the bar when we could due to the musky smell, and the flies and mouse turds in the dining room. I only suspect they were mouse turds because Of the several mice we would see roaming the floors. So first time we went there, I automatically felt animosity from the women bar tender who was clearly drinking behind the bar. I asked for a manhattan that was served in some sort of rocks glass and she shook it , which i did not ask her too. Most manhattans are stirred unless you ask for it. My wife ordered a simple margarita which was awful, tasted like the mix was bad and old. And she received disgusting well tequila. Was awful. so to the food we ordered. I ordered a steak rare with mash potatoes and I believe asparagus was the veggie that night. and my wife ordered a jvi burger mid rare with fries. well from the position we had from the bar I thought it was very odd that the cook was smashing down the burger on the grill instead of letting it cook, considering it's a mid rare burger. Never in my years had I'd seen smashing and totally wrecking the burger. It looked like it was in pieces. But I kindof said whatever hopefully it's good. Then I saw another cook take a spoon and scrape what looked to be old mash potatoes in a wooden bowl and throw it in the microwave. so once we got our food it was clear that we were a burden to them. my steak was not rare, medium at best , and tough as nails. And of course my wife's burger was not mid rare, was burnt on the sides and just done very poorly. Looked like a bunch of meat pushed together probably due to the smashing which baffled me. my mashed potatoes had a weird crust on them as well, leading me to believe they weren't even fresh potatoes, my guess is they are powdered and dehydrated. Her fries were probably enough to give someone a heart attack with the amount of salt and had a weird reddish powder on them. So I guess that night the best thing I had was the asparagus, although tough, they weren't bad. Bout a couple months later, we both came in again, only me eating this time and I ordered the vegetarian ravioli. And when I got it, the ravs which seemed pre frozen to me were like mush and i actually asked the bartender if they had a trash can behind the bar so i could dump the 2 cups of oil out inside of it. It was a complete mess and appeared to be canned stuff in with it. I mean, I say this because my god, the prices these guys are charging and the with the quality of food your getting is extraordinary to me. I'm at loss for words. The 3rd time we went in, the bar was full and we didn't have a problem waiting for a drink, and it was the same bartender we saw before. Well after about an hour we had enough. I'm not sure who the owner is and I don't care, but all my years in the food industry and in customer service, this is one of the worst establishments I've ever stepped in. I felt like I needed a hot shower when I left. and then when I thought I'd have seen enough, while we were leaving, there was 2-3 people wearing aprons drinking liquor on the side of the building. I recommend new management, or even owners. cause there is not a care in the world. Stay far away. Sorry but this was a disgusting experience and just seems like no body cares. I'd be doing some overhauling inside and out. In a New York heartbeat. Thank you. read more

This is the best place to stay at! The Inn has great accommodations, atmosphere and staff. They truly make you feel at home there. We enjoyed coming back from skiing each night and having food/drink at the bar and then being able to walk right up stairs to bed. Super convenient ! Such a great local stay.
