Best home style buffet in Branson. Living in Branson we have an abundance of home cooking restaurants, buffets and chains that all begin to blend together. Roadhouse 165 is different. At Roadhouse 165, you get fresh food and a team that genuinely seems to love working there. The salad bar includes fresh Romain and spinach greens unlike many of the local restaurants that only serve iceberg lettuce. Along with a great selection of greens the choices of vegetables for salads are plentiful. Several standard dressings and the highlight. The deviled egg dressing are all available to place on top of your salad or take on the side. We're entrées there was Meat Loaf, fried chicken, grilled chicken, fried catfish tri-tip being served at a carving station. A baked potato bar, several sides including green beans, mashed potatoes, and many more favorites like mac & cheese and chicken pasta. Desserts were cookies and ice cream. A drink was included with the meal, making it an all inclusive dinner. Service was spot-on and as mentioned earlier, all of the staff we interacted with were friendly and welcoming. We will be returning often, as this is definitely the best buffet for fresh food in the area. read more

New restaurant. They had live music playing. Upon check in we told them we had a gluten allergy in the party and they said they could accommodate and to relax. They were a little understaffed but who isn't. Server didn't seem to really comprehend we had an allergy and was very much in a hurry since she was also the bartender. but the buffet was clean so we didn't have to ask to many questions. Food on the buffet had flavor some interesting combinations like balsamic Brussel sprouts. They changed several offerings while we were there. Being new I think they are experimenting on what they had out. Food on the buffet was solid. Baked potatoes were way overs cooked but they brought out a fresh one from the back and did change over the station. When our KC steak came out it was a beautiful cut but was Pittsburgh rare when ordered as medium. We had to send back and they got it up to medium rare. Manager apologized and brought out the redo. Roadhouse 165 has an excellent rustic interior. It's a great concept - all you can eat steak, chicken and shrimp with several sides available. The servers were all outstanding, with lots of smiles and regularly checking to see if we needed anything. Tom Lovato provided excellent live music from the 70's. Unfortunately, the food was less than was expected, and wasn't all that great - except for the apple cobbler which was amazing! Overall, it wasn't bad, but I'm not motivated to return, given the price. read more

We were headed down the highway and there were a man and woman across the street protesting this place claiming cockroaches in the shepherd's pie. Next thing we know a group of employees walked across the street shouting and one guy started beating up the male protester in the middle of the road. We pulled in and waited for police and several of the staff were not telling the truth about what was happening. Clearly not a place to take the family. read more

This was epic, far and away one of the worst experiences I've ever had in a restaurant. Our server was very nice. It's an all you can eat buffet, the problem is there was no food, what was there was awful. No steak, no baked potatoes, and the sides looked as if they'd been there for hours. All things considered at this point , I was sympathetic, assuming they we're having trouble getting help. Here's where it really gets bad, when leaving we realized the entire back of the house were either spectating or involved in a fight behind the restaurant. This was 10 or so employees, more than enough to keep the buffet stocked & thing's running smoothly. I'll give it 1 star for ambiance, I'd advise that server to get a job elsewhere, certainly employee of the year here. read more

Service was so good I didn't want to write a bad review. Here it goes for $25 per person the food was should I say less than a C-. The steak on the buffet was tough as a rock. The chicken was poor. This is the "new place" in town (as of July 2023) and we've driven past it so many times we were anxious to give it a try. They did a nice job of cleaning up the gray, weathered exterior. Entrance is around back, by the way, not as you first pull up. I'd really like to give them 4 or 5 stars because they are so darn nice! But, as another reviewer mentioned, the food didn't meet expectations. An adult meal will cost you $25 each and a soft drink is almost $4 (with tax). So, figure on $29 each for adults. This is a buffet - aka all you can eat. American/Country style. A small salad bar is at one end and is next to the baked potato bar. Beside it is a beef carving station. They call it steak, I"m guessing it was prime rib but it was VERY tough meat. Almost no seasoning - salt helps some. The hot food items are hit and miss. Mac n Cheese and baked beans - I'd skip. Grilled shrimp is OK but spicy. The beef soup is decent but also very spicy. The Fried chicken is average - not like you'd find at Pizza Ranch. Corn and green beans were OK But skip the Brussels sprouts. Meatloaf was mushy. Rolls were OK - glad they had real butter. Best part of the meal was the mixed berry cobbler with ice cream. Not sure I'd go back but it was fun to try. Again, the people are incredibly nice and everyone there goes out of their way, manager included, to speak to you and check on you. As I was paying to leave, at least 3 workers asked me how I liked it. If only they could take the food quality up a few notches, they'd have a real winner! read more

We went out for a late supper and I know you can get food not up to par when yiu go around 8 pm but this place was open until 10. The staff wasn't very friendly and the buffet looked like it had been sitting there all night and nobody touched it. read more

6/23/23 They have only been open for a month. With that being said the buffet was very good. They are going to be having a menu offering different steaks soon. Don't bypass the cobblers. Monday June 26, 2023 are giving one star only because I am unable to give zero stars. Husband, daughter, and I arrived around 5:30p after deciding to have supper here due to lots of recommendations on FB. Once seated, approximately 10 minutes went by before our waitress showed up to take our drink order. Drink order given (only time we saw our waitress for order and delivery) we went to the buffet to help our plates. Once we got our sides (no salad as salad bar was very minimal) we were waiting at the carving station were only offering was what appeared to be leftover, dried out, tri-tip roast from lunch (only the end pieces). We inquired as to how long a wait for rare beef and were told 45 minutes. A waitress told us the wait was long because they had more guests than anticipated for a Monday lunch and had run out of beef therefore needing to cook more. Husband settled on shrimp, daughter settled on meatloaf and I decided to wait. A man came by (perhaps a manager?) and informed us we would have a 20 minute wait for beef and they were not offering cook to order steaks. Approximately 20 minutes went by, the booth behind us was seated, they were told it was going to be 30 minutes before beef was ready. Husband said shrimp for good, daughter said, meatloaf was OK, and all I can comment on are mashed potatoes, gravy, and corn of which all were mediocre. We all agreed buffet foods were frozen, or canned and had been microwaved, heated on the stove top, or baked. We finished our supper, which had a price adjustment due only to our complaints, and left vowing not to return. I understand this establishment recently opened and has kinks to work out; but, this could've all been avoided had management informed the host there was no tri-tip available until around 6:30p and pass this information onto guests so they have the choice of leaving or waiting. read more

Other food was room temperature at best. This place has a lot of potential. Very relaxed environment. Hope they can get it together. read more

The server was very pleasant. The sinks in the bathroom were really cool. Other then that this place was horrible. Buffet had old dried out chicken tenders and lunch meat. You can order off of thier list of steaks ,or you can do the buffet. We were told the buffet would have steak on it ...... absolutely not apparently a roast is a steak now in their eyes. Not to mention all of your other food options are cold, old and just dry from sitting to long. I even tried to order a steak but they made it seem like it was to much off a hassle for them . 25$ for a salad is ridiculous which is all I ate ,but unfortunately that is what you're expected to pay if you get the buffet . Food was extremely limited for the price. I could and should have gone to golden coral or grand country buffet for half the price and ten times the food. Do not recommend this as it's almost $30 per person for buffet if you want to call 10 items that drinks which are small and taxes. Thought for the price it would be worth it but never told us drinks were not included in the buffet price and when we arrived the workers did not acknowledge us but took two people to talk to one customer that came in before us. We had to get there attention to even get a greeting. The buffet was pretty pathetic this very few items labeled and very few choices. Told there was steak and other meat options but all that was available was thin tough strips cut by the butcher or chef whoever they were that was so tough you could barely cut it. The salad had maybe ten options for toppings and dressing all together the food maybe had four options with a couple sides all of which were either so bland they had no flavor or were beyond seasoned to where you could not eat them. The desert was just as bad with so much sugar and so overcooked it was inedible. I took my father mother nephew and husband for Father's Day and for the food and drinks plus tax it was so not worth the $160 bill and I will not go back the experience was terrible and if they want to stay open they need some serious changes. read more
