I came into the store because I just got into running more and I needed some running specific shoes. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They do seem to be running around a lot and may be a bit understaffed but are able to manage it well. They definitely work as a team at the store. I've been in multiple times so I've seen it happen each time. After going through the fit process, finding my shoes, and leaving and being so satisfied, I brought my husband back for the same process and he was also very impressed. Some of the stuff that they did not have in stock, they were able to order it and it gets to my house within two days so I have no complaints. Another WONDERFUL experience here today! I am loving the new store which is only 2 doors down from the old location. I came in here to exchange a pair of shoes I'd been wearing for the last 5 weeks that just weren't working out so well. I love the perks of being a VIP because I get 90 days to love my shoes or exchange them.. which I rarely ever do honestly. Amy was the sales associate who helped me and she was awesome. We talked about socks, insoles and my gait and ultimately decided that in this particular shoe I would need to go up a half size. They had a pair in stock and I was on my way within just a short time. The store is also dog friendly which is a huge plus in my book. After receiving a sale notification email I went to this store for my first in-person shoe purchase for their VIP Outlet Sale and was dazzled. I instantly bought two pairs of shoes, running tights, and a hat. Unfortunately, nothing fit. However, their customer service was A+ and I was able to receive credit and switch out the ill-sized items. I highly recommend this running store, especially for new runners who aren't used to performance gear fit and pricing. When I decided to call they pushed the dates back again. I finally just cancelled my orders including my vip membership. Do not trust their website when it says "in stock ". Their customer service rep on the phone sounds like a bored teenager who puts you on hold and picks up the line and asks " Are you still there?" Like she was hoping I would just give up. I'm really surprised by some of these reviews on here. I had on Sunday, like I've always had, a very professional and pleasant experience here. I am not a runner but I have some unique issues relative to my feet so I require some intelligence about the kind and type of shoe I wear. My son, however, is a competitive runner. We both came in this weekend to get some new shoes. He needed middle distance spikes, something I have no knowledge of. Our sales associate, Dani, took time to explain the features and issues surrounding the various types of spikes and what we should be considering. The place was extremely busy and she did a phenomenal job balancing customers and never making me feel anything but important. She also spent a great amount of time with me getting the right brand, size and model for me. Look, if you want some intelligence about serious athletic footwear, go here. This is not the place for the cheapest shoes but the employees provide great insight and the shoes are high quality good value. I started running two years ago and went from not being able to complete a mile to my first full marathon. No matter where my skill level or how much I knew they never made me feel uncomfortable or like I was being a pain. I've always been treated amazingly. Some of the prices might be a little higher than you might find online but the service is beyond worth it. I joined the VIP club because you have 90 days to run in your shoes and if you don't like them for ANY reason you can bring them in and exchange. I've done this twice on some shoes that just wore out and there was never any push back or feeing like I was bothering them. I went through the shoe fitting process, was talked in to custom soles, bought the custom soles and shoes and experienced shin splints two runs in. I stopped wearing the custom soles and reverted to the soles the shoes came with and my splints lessened. YEARS later, I was charged a $24.99 fee for the Roadrunner VIP club. Hmm.. I didn't sign up for that, despite your harping on me to do so, Roadrunner. Sneaky! I do not recommend this store. If you're looking for a good shoe store, go to the experts at the Boulder Running Company. They will thoughtfully put you in shoes that will enhance your life. While they certainly know how to sell a shoe, I cannot say that I am happy with my overall experience. Three seperate people tried to sell me the VIP thing ( a membership fee for discounts? I don't know of any retail chain that does well with that kind of rip-off.) and I declined all three times, explaining that the shoes were actually cheaper with the sales price alone and without the $20 "sign up" fee. I went in simply to browse and look at possible, future shoe purchases. However, I immediately was sat down, did the whole foot analyses thing, and was trying on several types of shoes. While that speaks highly for their selling ability, I felt very pushed and uncomfortable. The salesman working with me never asked what I wanted, even after I told them I was logging more than 30 miles a week and had been running competitively for over 5 years! I had a pair that I wanted after a bit, but only in a certain color. My companion was trying to find it online for that size and color, but the salesman insisted it was discontinued and they'd never find it. Next thing I knew, I was up at the counter. A woman behind it was VERY pushy with the whole VIP thing before. I was considering it before that, but when she pushed me to explain why I was saying no and seemed, well, mean about the whole thing, I decided against it completely. Lo and behold, I ended up somehow buying a pair of shoes I wasn't in love with. As soon as we walked out the door, my companion found the right color and size online for cheaper. So, RoadRunner, a word of advice from a customer. If your sales people are too pushy, even if they are successfully pushy, I will be returning those shoes because I don't actually want them! I can always return them, and that comes to no profit in the long run. Furthermore, I was so put off by the experience personally that I won't be coming in again, even though I liked more of your merchandise and prices. Overly pushy and sub-par friendly salespeople will just get you a lot of returns and a loss of repeat customers. read more

This place is by far my favorite place to get shoes and running gear. If you buy more than 1 pair of running shoes per year, it makes perfect sense to get VIP membership. For $27 (it's way less for your first year) you get cheaper rates on gear, price matching, and 90 days love it guarantee. I've had a pair of shoes for a whole month and they just weren't working and was able to bring them back to a pair I loved. Don't hesitate to ask for a price match they are great about it. Hubby and I love the people here, they are super knowledgeable and patient when we take forever to pick our shoes. We've been in late and they are really nice about staying the extra 5-10 minutes. While the staff was friendly, they were entirely too pushy with the upsell on their VIP program. I've worked in outdoor retail long enough to understand how a VIP / membership program works, once I say that I'm not interested that should be enough to have the salesperson drop it. I don't feel like I shouldn't be required to sit through an interview on where else I buy my shoes (I'm sitting on fifteen pair right now, so, a couple places...), nor do I care that I could have saved three dollars on my purchase. NOT INTERESTED. Once I made that clear, the level of service and friendliness dropped off considerably. Also, perhaps they could open another register instead of having the entire rest of the staff chatting with the Brooks rep while I wait to give them money. It was a bummer, since I had very high hopes for this store. They do have a pretty great selection of footwear, but that was about it. Most of the apparel looked to be their own brand or the same Nike stuff you can get at Sports Authority. This is probably an OK place if you're just getting started out running and live in the area. But, if you're already pretty established and just want a place to gear up without being hassled to spend more, this is not it. read more

I am not a serious runner or athlete but the folks here made me feel welcome anyway. I needed new running shoes and they put me on the Shoe Dog thing and had my gait analyzed. I thought it was a bit gimmicky but it pointed me to a brand of shoes I've never tried. And my feet love me for it. And I love Road Runners for it. They have a wide selection and the sales people are most concerned about getting the customer the right equipment. And the stuff isn't any more expensive than other shoe stores (Fleet Feet, etc....)
