This is against a Federal law called the FTC Opthalmic Practice Rules--the Eyeglass Rule. What is most disturbing is to see elderly people receiving services here and more than likely they are not aware of this law. Without $80+ dollars this can mean the difference for affording necessary medication, food, utility bills etc.

After returning to their store a few times trying to troubleshoot my issue of feeling like I was crossed eyed when wearing my glasses that were $316 WITH insurance they made me an appointment. At appointment time I was told that I have to pay even more to have it corrected. I will be disputing this with my card and insurance because I refuse to spend even more money when they obviously entered something incorrect pertaining to my astigmatism. I should have never left Carolina Family Vision since I've never had an issue with my prescription from them. Edited to add: I just thought I should fill everyone in. Two months ago they did replace my lenses without a recheck so they actually confirmed that they DON'T have good customer care. It also shows that you don't have good communication in your office since you wouldn't have said that had you known you all have already failed. Shame on you for trying to hide your failures.

When he gave me the eye exam, he gave me 1 line to read n I told him I could not read it n he was blurry. I am an artist. I can't read a road sign, Im using old glasses to teach art n to paint at home. Reading Glasses! I guess I need to get a pair of reading glasses to read a book, another to read a road sign, another to see you, a couple to teach, another for the PC, another to paint, and another to see my subject. I called the call-back number they specifically gave me which led to the automated phone tree, after pressing all the buttons it led me to the voicemail in which I stated I was trying to call back this lady about I don't even know what. They never called back. So I went to my first visit, checked in, all only to be called to the front and told I don't even have an active referral. For reference, the office would not have been able to call me and schedule an appointment without a referral ... they told me I needed to call my PCP and reschedule. I finally get things sorted with my insurance, and my second attempt at a first consult is coming up. I receive another call from the office telling me I need a referral from my PCP. At this point I have received verbal AND written confirmation from TriCare that I in fact DO have an active referral. I tell this to the front desk and she goes "oh okay bye." The front desk staff clearly has no real organization or communication with insurance. It is extremely frustrating and I haven't even been to my initial consultation yet.

After meeting with the eye tech for 30 minutes. I went to another waiting area to wait on the doctor for over 25 minutes. I walked out and notified the front desk I wouldn't be returning. The wait time here is unreasonable it's giving free clinic wait times as if my insurance isn't good (when it is). Duke Health (Holly Springs) is a NO for me and I don't intend on returning.
