He couldn't close the tank anymore and propane was hissing out of the tank. After one hour he said I can now drive because only air is coming out of the tank. I drove 30 miles to Campingworld in Winchester, VA. The manager there looked at my motorhome and said he can't help me and didn't know who could. Amerigas in Winchester denied help too. I called Southern States in Stephens City, VA and Wayne offered immediately help. He was shocked because not air was still hissing out of my tank but propane. A spark could easily have caused an explosion or the heat of my engine while driving. He put immediately an adapter on the tank and the bleeding stopped. I am a 72 year old woman and was frightened to death. But no one was willing to help but Wayne. Thank you so much Wayne!

I have always had relatively good experiences with Valley Energy. However, I'm now done based on…read morethis past experience. I guess it does take only one bad experience. Poor management when questioned. I had an issue about whether 800 gallons was actually delivered to my home. I have a 1,000 gallon propane tank -- when I got to about 150 to 175 gallons, I called for a refill. When I received the refill, they refilled to 800 gallons (which is typical -- 80% total). They gave me a bill for exactly 800 gallons delivered. I questioned the invoice because I knew I called in when there was no less than 150 gallons, which means if I had 150 and they put 800 in that I'd have 950 total. They said they put in 800 and my tank must have been completely at zero and that my gauge must be wrong. I check my gauge every week and know it was not at zero or even close to it. My email was initially ignored, then it was clearly misread when it was responded to and not sent to management. I had to call to get a manager (or I think they connected me to a dispatcher), who tried to placate me to get me off the phone with the understanding he would follow up in a couple of ways, which he never did. When I finally followed up a few weeks later by email, the assistant contacted the the manager (or dispatcher) who told her to pass along that the driver who made the delivery was contacted and said that there were in fact 800 gallons delivered and everything seemed ok at the time of delivery. My emails to Valley Energy and my discussions were clear in that I was not seeking not to pay for gas I did not receive. I was interested in finding out if my gauge was wrong to have it fixed, or to learn if the gas truck that did deliver to my home reported the wrong amount as being delivered (they track all amounts all day) -- I indicated perhaps at the end of the day there may have been an extra 200 gallons on the truck. In any event, they handled it wrong and they lost a customer. I was with them four years and will be no longer. This experience leaves me with a taste of mismanagement, possible dishonesty and siphoned gas in my mouth. I'm not suggesting Valley Energy actually billed for gas they didn't provide to me, but the way they handled this incident, it gives me great pause to consider whether it is just bad customer service. I've lost my faith in them.

I called Sunfire to see if they would mind making the trek to Virginia to have a look. Today they showed up early with 3 technicians, the lead tech (Jerry) was able to get the fireplace up and running again in about 30 minutes. They all worked to give my fireplace a thorough cleaning as well, and it has been long overdue. I like a contractor that shows up on time, knows their stuff, and leaves with everything in working order, plus they left everything cleaner and nicer than it was when they arrived. Jerry gave me sound advice about future self maintenance. All of that for about $100, not bad at all. If I ever have an issue again, I know who to call.

He basically said he wouldnt come out for an estimate (what i really wanted) until he had spoken with my GC about the renovation but he did give me his cell to pass onto my GC. When I tried to use the stove after delivery, there was no gas. I tried the dryer with the same result. I even tried the fireplace on the other tank and got the same result. I then went outside to determine if the valves were open, and they were. I then called SS, but by then they were closed and the answering service took the information and said that someone would get back to me that evening or the next morning. No one called, so I called again Sunday afternoon. The answering service said that they had my first message requesting a delivery! I than explained again that I had had a delivery, but no gas was coming into the house from either tank. The service then contacted SS. The SS serviceman told me that I had to pay $250 for him to come and check the tanks, or I could wait until 8 am Monday morning and call the office. I work 1 1/2 hours from home and I have to be to work by 8 am. I would have to take a day off to call and have a serviceman come to the house. Besides this, I was supposed to host Thanksgiving dinner for my family from out of state. I had planned on preparing a lot of the meal that weekend but could not because I had no stove or oven. I also could not do laundry. And SS wanted me to take a day without pay or pay them $250 to have them fix whatever they had done! I ended up canceling Thanksgiving Dinner. 32 people will have to find somewhere else to go because I was unable to cook.

The store manager told me the bags where crumble when the label on the bag clearly said pellets. He then got an attitude because I rejected the order and told him to cancel it and refund the order. This was the 2nd time I ordered online for curbside pickup and the 2nd time the order was presented to me incorrectly. District manager was zero help, he claimed the person I dealt with was not the manager yet the person in the store told me he was the store manager. Someone is lying. A company who lies to customers, argues with customers and just does a lousy job on all levels does not deserve our hard earned money.
