Best coffee shop in town....atmosphere, background music, food, service and, most importantly, the COFFEE. Located in a quiet neighborhood. I walked and was greeted by friendly and helpful staff. Best espresso you will find in Roanoke.
Love the small coffee shop atmosphere, I got a cold brew and my friend got a dirty chai latte. Coffee was great, super quick. The staff didn't seem very friendly but I'll give it another try since I live In the neighborhood, I look forward to trying their food too!
Roasters Next Door Craft Coffee is an amazingly delicious coffee that I discovered by taking the Road less traveled in search of RND Coffee in 1114 Main Street SW, Roanoke, Virginia. When I arrived to the place, it was a rustic but very clean and freshly painted purple brick building with large windows on the outside and a combination of exposed red bricks and beautiful polished hardwood floors on the inside A few minutes after I arrived, a young lady turned on the lights inside and open the doors to the place. AsvI entered the door she greeted me with welcoming smile and told me a little about the place and the coffee and pastries sold there. I ordered an Everything Bagel with plain cream cheese which was made in-house and a 16oz Cafe Latte with Dutch Mocha. The coffee served in a large coffee cup looked and tasted amazing. And the bagel with the home made cream cheese as well. I enjoyed having breakfast in this comfortable and relaxing atmosphere and highly recommend it to all of you reading this review.
Super trendy local cafe with coffee, pastries and savory breakfast options. The best part for me? Vegan options! I had a vegan carrot cake muffin with a glaze drizzle and oat milk horchata latte--both SO good. They also have avocado toast if you're vegan (but on this particle day they were out of it which was a bummer). 10+ points for having any vegan options at all which has felt super rare while visiting the area. If they offered vegan cream cheese with vegan bagels in the future that would even better. Cute place, lots of seating inside and a few seats outside. Very friendly staff. All around good energy and would love to go again anytime.
I got the turkey, avocado toast with pickled onions and it was 10/10! My sister got an everything bagel that came with whipped cream cheese, which seemed to enjoy a lot too! The matcha was solid, and my sister enjoyed her latte too! Overall, a solid place! Service was quick even when ordering food. I think the ambiance of the coffee shop and food options are what makes it! 10/10 experience, would recommend if your looking for a quaint small town café.

There is a decent line and every seat taken. It took us 30 minutes to get our drink. The place was really nice and comfortable. Unfortunately, the coffee was a bit bitter and not great.

You can count me in for any coffee shop, but one that's purple? That makes its own syrups? That has lots of plants? It's hard not to be obsessed! There were lots of people working inside/out front, so you just know it's a vibe and the internet is actually functional. I definitely plan on bringing my work here in the future. I didn't see a designated parking lot, but the street parking adjacent to the building was free. I also thought the bathrooms were ESPECIALLY clean. Overall, if you haven't tried this spot, I think this is some of the best coffee in the area.
RND coffee in the Wasena Park area is a great local roaster in a historic part of town. Tons of street parking and his aesthetically pleasing local roaster awaits. The store fits perfect into its neighborhood surroundings it's fantastic. RND (Roaster Next Door) is just that, your local coffee brew. I ordered the chai tea latte and man, it was phenomenal. I get a chair tea often, but this one, has that extra special something. Flavor was sooooo good, it made me make a noise, you know one of those 'ooooo yeah' noises, but not at all like Macho Man Randy Savage. They have made the store social distance so the seating is limited, bit still appointed nicely. Many people we're popping in to get their online order, so you can tell it's a local favorite. Bathrooms were clean and they make their drinks fast, there is food to order as well. They even have some canned cold nitro brew six packs. It was an awesome find and if I was from town RND would become a spot of many visits and hang time with friends. Enjoy this Roanoke Roaster, their drinks are good good good. Oooooooo Yeah!!

Always a great place to have some coffee here around a quaint neighborhood. Service is great and the steamed milk is always spot even with extra hot request. Will be trying their roast beans once I have finish my batch. Hopefully, an update to this review with more about different coffee/beans. read more
The big problem currently is that this place is in a location that is right next to a bridge that is under construction for a long time, which means it's not the most convenient location to get to. Ordering in advance, yield me a completed order which was right on the counter near the door when I got in, so at least that saved me some time. I was able to get a bagel for breakfast and they do charge for butter, but it was so much butter that I will have leftover for several more bagels. Their house chai wasn't interesting subtle spice mix, and was available with alternative milks. The star of the show, though was a vegan peach crumble coffee cake, which was about as good as you could possibly imagine such a thing in being. It had a moistness and texture that you would never think would come with a vegan baked good and every bite delivered a delectable flavor mix. The menu will vary, of course, but they clearly have the ability to deliver some quality items for virtually anyone seeking a breakfast or lunch. read more

I was in town for the weekend and had to make a stop at RND, the best cafe in Roanoke. I got a hot toasted cardamom latte with oatmilk. It was divine. The homemade cardamom syrup was perfect. The staff are so friendly and the space is so cozy and welcoming. Perfect spot to meet up with friends! read more

RND is a quaint coffee shop with cool vibes! The baristas were friendly and informative. They definitely wanted me to have the right drink for what I was thinking. If it wasn't so early in the morning, I definitely wanted to try the Nitro float (nitro coffee and ice cream). But I trusted my gut and went with a lavender and thyme latte. And oh em gee. This is my favorite lavender drink! The thyme adds a savory finish to this not too sweet drink. Check them out! read more

The staff is pleasant, the place is clean and welcoming. We stopped in around 4:30pm and caught someone preparing packaging for the home made treats available. My coffee was 3$ and did not take long to prepare. 4 stars. read more

Absolutely a wonderful neighborhood coffee shop. The service is fast and friendly, without sacrificing the quality. They keep it simple to keep the quality above status quo. The granola on the parfait is made in house and leaves you wanting more. Along with the compote, nothing is overly sweet and creates nice layers of flavor and texture. The nitro is creamy smooth and dangerous good. Go for the pour over coffee, it is worth the wait if it is a little busy. The atmosphere is casual and a place you want to sit for a casual chat. *Both restrooms are clean and gender neutral There is on street parking in front and along the sides. There is a nearby parking lot for another business, but an option if it is a little busy. read more

Order: Smoked Apple Cinnamon Latte, Pour Over, Coffee Jelly Price: $23 Positives: The flavors were incredible and they offer truly unique coffee "drinks", Negatives: Seating wasn't super comfortable. tldr: RND is one of the most creative coffee shops I've ever been to, and on top of that they are on point this with their basics. This is a must visit coffee shop no mater what you're looking to get from your cafe. Thoughts: Finally! A coffee shop that does a pour over! We had been in Charlotte earlier that day and visited three different coffee shops and none of them did pour overs. I was beginning to think I was in some weird dimension where pour overs no longer existed and then I walked into RND Coffee Lounge. My wife had said this place was fantastic because the owner does some insanely creative coffee stuff. She wasn't joking. When we walked in one of the first things I noticed was the smoking device on the counter. Given my insatiable curiosity one of the first questions I asked the barista, who also happened to be the owner, what he does with that smoking machine. When he told me he makes a smoked cinnamon apple latte I just threw money at him. Then my wife told me I also needed to try the coffee jelly. Wait, I thought, coffee jelly? Like what is going on in this shop shop? Coffey jelly and smoked lattes? This was either going to spectacular, or a disaster. But I trust my wife so we also ordered coffee jelly and then we got a pour over. The pour over was mostly just because I have been missing out on pour overs for days. To be fair it had only been one full day since I had a pour over but addiction am I right? Anyway while we waited for our crazy drinks we took a seat in the building and I think the only negative thing I will have to say about this place is that the seating is only OK. It's definitely not bad but I really hope in the coming years they're able to build out the space a little bit more and make it more comfortable to sit, do work and hang out. It could be a situation where very few people stay at the coffee shop and so they don't need a fantastic place. But the church style pew that was their bench definitely wasn't my idea of a comfortable place to hang out. We didn't have to wait too long because our coffee got to our table pretty quickly. The pour over was very basic, simple, but really good. You could taste the depth and complexity of coffee. The coffee jelly was unlike anything else I've ever eaten. He explained it was coffee with a little bit of gelatin, just to make it solidified, and then served in a cup with condensed milk over it. My worry was that it would taste like bland Jell-O, flavored with coffee and that wasn't even close to the case. The stuff was fantastic. It was like drinking coffee that you could also chew that had this wild texture in your mouth. It was so good that I ordered it without question the next time we walked in the door a few days later. It definitely wouldn't be something that became my standard fare if I lived in the city but it is phenomenal and you definitely have to try it if you haven't! The smoked apple cinnamon latte was another mind blower. So he makes this apple cinnamon latte, which to be honest would probably be good all on its own because he's hand making the syrup plus, as I found out later apparently the owner was a chef before becoming a coffee master and you can kind of tell the way he works on his drinks that there's more going on in his head than just coffee. Anyway, so he makes this latte and then he smokes it and lets it sit inside the smoking glass for a good five minutes. When I tell you that this thing showed up at our table smelling like warm apple pie being eaten around the campfire I'm not even sort of exaggerating! Just smelling this thing made me happy and tasting it was unreal! You tasted the wood, the apple, the cinnamon, and the coffee all in this glorious amalgamation of a drink. It did come off as a little bit sweet though I wasn't exactly surprised because after all it's a smoked apple cinnamon latte. If it wasn't sweet it might be weird. I wish there was more espresso in it and if I ordered it again I would do it as a cappuccino not as a latte just to make that espresso pop a little bit more in the drink. If you can't tell by my absurdly long review of two coffee concoctions, I loved this place. We went back again as we were passing through the city to leave our vacation and I would 100% come here all the time if I lived nearby. Apparently he changes the espressos and the different drinks and I would love to just work my way through whatever this man came up with for years. If you live anywhere nearby (I'm literally clapping my hands while I say this that's how serious I am) you owe it to yourself to get to RND Coffee. Not only will you get amazing coffee you will get coffee presented to you in a unique way that you will almost certainly have never encountered before. This is my first time ordering from here. I ordered a latte and bagel sandwich. Both were actually really good. The bagel sandwich was surprisingly filling. I got a lavender latte and it was warm, foamy, and definitely tasted like lavender! The food was great however the service not so much. Went early to avoid any crowds and the two people working the front were quite cold. I asked for suggestions since it was my first time and one of them just pointed out their flavors. Nothing more nothing less. After ordering they continued on with their conversation and disregarded me. I felt very unwelcome and just left without eating there. I don't know if it was because I was nervous and couldn't order the coffee right away or I'm soft spoken; however that doesn't excuse being rude. The picture is just proof that I did order from here. Absolutely adorable little spot. Traveling from NY and needed a solid cup of coffee that wasn't Starbucks or Dunkin both which always leave me wishing I had something better! I'm a huge advocate of supporting local business so I always try to find a local roaster. RND did not disappoint. They were able to direct me with an order based on what I described I wanted and my daughter and niece were so thrilled to have a solid iced coffee at the fields while we played our tournaments. read more

A great little coffee shop which was a much-needed addition to the Wasena neighborhood. Great coffee, great pastries, you can't really go wrong. The pricing is reasonable as well. The atmosphere is super cute and artsy. They did a great job with the renovations. A small shop, though - if you come during a busy time like the morning on a weekend, it may be hard to find seating. The owners are very nice and happy to talk about their coffees and foods. They are clearly passionate about what they are doing. However, service can be a little slow because it is just two people working there for now (it seems). I can imagine that to be a bit overwhelming with how popular the shop is becoming. I hope to see RND learn, grow, and thrive in the neighborhood. read more

I am heading north and had to stop 40 miles back for something to eat and a coffee but all the places were closed, I am so glad they were..,the staff was friendly, attentive and suggested this delicious breakfast bagel....as I say delicious!! read more
