This is such a treat and treasure! I am here touring VA Tech and Blacksburg with my son from Georgia. I found this place in search of a spot I could get a chai tea latte that would meet at least half of my expectations. It met all of my expectations! It was perfect! The staff were so nice and helpful. I was able to sit, enjoy the surroundings, check my emails while my son was back at The Inn catching a few more Zzzzs. The food looked yummy, but I did not have any because I am not a morning eater. If my son decides on VA Tech, on my visits I will be here every morning after my workout to start my day!!!

The best coffee and chai around! I have to come every time I go to Virginia. So many flavors and options available, easy parking, and a great atmosphere. Baristas are always super helpful and nice!

Great place to stop for coffee at any hour of the day (literally, they are open ALL day into the evening!). I highly recommend their iced coffee which can be enjoyed on its own or with flavored syrup (I love the English toffee). They have half and half, sugar packets, and simple syrup available at your convenience to add to your drink. They also offer cafe style food, and there are some vegan options on the menu! With plenty of indoor and outdoor seating this is a great place to get some work done or catch up with friends!

Super cute cafe. They have really good breakfast sandwiches and pastries. The lattes were pretty sweet and milky ( which I guess is what a latte is) but may get less flavor next time. Great place for breakfast.

I looked at the reviews initially, and saw that it had a lot of stars so obviously had to try this to fulfill my coffee needs. A very hole-in-the-wall place across from VA Tech campus and parking is very limited. Tried this place a few times with different coffee drinks and I just felt like the coffee was very burnt. Didn't seem fresh at all, and the syrup ratio was so off. Either they would add too much or too little. The smell of coffee walking in is also so strong, it sits in your clothes and purse after leaving and kind of makes you nauseous after. The staff and everyone is very friendly, no complaints there but just the quality of the coffee is too burnt and acidic for my tastebuds. Cute place to study with friends, and food must be good, but I was very turned off by the quality of the coffee itself given its fame and recognition and the amazing reviews.

Overall a great local coffee shop. The coffee is fresh and has great flavor. Caveat: I am a black coffee only person so can't attest for fancier drinks. Has an egg sandwich one day which was very good and a muffin another day that was average. The atmosphere is very inviting and comfortable. The service over two days has been okay. Not quite as hometown as you'd expect in a home town coffee shop. The staff was nice but not engaging. I will say they seem very efficient so wait time is limited. Overall a nice place to grab coffee and light food.

Chocolate chip cookie, do better next time. Please and thank you. It was my favorite back in the day when quality matched the price.

I was so hungry, I forgot a pic. Thankfully, my friend got one of hers sesame bagel, veggie sausage, and cheddar. Plus her iced coffee.

The great: I loved my breakfast sandwich. I chose the veggie sausage, provolone cheese, and egg. For my coffee, I chose a iced latte with the Irish cream flavor shot added. The veggie sausage is AMAZING. I'm not vegetarian, but I was a huge fan and will get again. To note: I went around 10AM on a Sunday, and they had limited bagel options. Only sesame and everything bagels. The reasons for my 3 star: First, they seemed to be understaffed. The person at the cash register would take your order, then make your drink, then come back and assist the next person. It seemed inefficient for ordering and I was a little concerned about the person handling money making my drink. This also was reflected when I was told that it was going to be 10-15 minutes because 'the kitchen is really behind." We didn't mind waiting, but seemingly was getting more behind as there was a line of people behind us. Secondly, the place just didn't appear as clean and neat as I'd expect. Given my first assumption of it being understaffed, I think that could be why. But I noticed a blender that had remnants from a previous smoothie sitting around, people doing multiple jobs - some without gloves, and a person in the kitchen with hair not tied up. If I'm back in town, I'd definitely go check them out again to see if this was just an off day.

Their coffee is absolutely delicious. My favorite go-to order is Vanilla Latte with oat milk -- iced and hot is amazing. Their vanilla flavoring has a nuttiness to it and their coffee (unsure if it's the coffee itself or the milk) is so creamy and delicious. Highly recommend. Just be aware of finding seating here, it's often crowded (:

I was so thankful to find a local coffee shop in Blacksburg. Upon first glance, I thought they only had Starbucks! I walked to the coffee shop from the Inn on the edge of campus and ordered an iced coffee and was excited to see that they offered off season syrups such as pumpkin and gingerbread. The coffee is roasted on site, with the toaster being the centerpiece of the seating area, and it was delicious. I will definitely be making repeat visits to Mill Mountain.

I don't enjoy their drip coffee as much as their espresso, but you can also get a tea pot to sit with which is so nice for doing some work or reading.

I have lived in Blacksburg my whole life and ODB has been a go-to bakery for most locals for a while. Serving a variety of pastries, cakes, breads, and offering lunch, brunch, and dinners. They have a lovely variety of options for customers to enjoy. The bakery primarily serves French pastries and caters to French cuisine at their meals. Although they offer more than just French inspired food. In the past, my family and I have enjoyed grabbing their cakes for celebrations and individual pastries from their pastries case. But recently, they have not been up to par and have left us very unsatisfied. The cakes have been dry and do not taste fresh at all. On my latest visit I tried a couple of things, all of which were cold, with dry, crumbly textures. It was evident to me that these pastries were not made day-of and had clearly sat in a fridge for at least one night (if not more). I found this to be extremely disappointing as ODB used to have a reputation of serving FRESH baked goods and pastries. I cannot attest for the hot food they serve during meal times, but the pastries and cakes have gone down hill. Over the winter break, I had their NY cheesecake bar (which I've gotten in the past and it was phenomenal) and it fell so short of what I remembered. It was lacking flavor and the crust at the bottom was dry. This past visit, I tried a Napoleon (also have had this before and really enjoyed it), a specialty cake, a scone, and a couple macarons and macaroons. The Napoleon was so cold and the puff pastry was super stale, it practically fell apart the second I tried to eat it. The specialty individual cake slice was also very cold and the cake wasn't moist at all. Again, indicating it was not fresh or made day-of. The scone was also a disappointment as it was dry and lacked any moisture. I thought the macrons and macaroons were fine though. While most of this was disappointing, the price didn't help either. Nothing was inexpensive and the quality was completely missing. So disappointing to leave this review as I used to enjoy coming here for sweet treats. It's sad to see that ODB is unfortunately not what it used to be. I will note that the service is very friendly and they do their best dealing with customers. Could have been more efficient, but I did go during a busier time. I hope they can turn things around, but until then I do not think I will be retuning soon.

We actually tried eating here a few months prior but the wait was nearly 2 hours long. This go around we had no wait. We were immediately sat and our drink orders were taken. Both my daughter and I chose apple juice. We also ordered a small appetizer b/c she was starving. The appetizer was yummy, can't remember what it was called but it was basically like doughnuts without the caramel it comes with. Our server was a young man and he did a fantastic job. He was very attentive to our table and our needs. The food was amazing, now I see why there was a 2 hour wait last time. I rarely eat other people's grits but these were pretty tasty and cooked just right. When I got my check I was in total shock though. Two apple juices (with no refills mind you) were approx. $5 a piece. WTF, why so expensive? I could have purchased a large jug of apple juice from Kroger. Yeah, I know I sound cheap. Nope, that the case just shocked at the price of a small glass of apple juice was with again no refills. We will definitely return next time I visit but we won't get apple juice again, we will stick to water.

Joe's was a nice start to the day as they provide good food and good service within a tiny, but capable venue. Joe's is located near the Main St-College Ave intersection, next door to Hokie Hair (mind you, College Ave is no longer open to traffic, it's now a huge sidewalk). They are small and, since all the buildings along this portion of Main St are older, its interior is dark and dated. A makeover could be in order, but its old school look and feel lends itself to the friendly small town vibe I've become accustomed to in Blacksburg. This diner was nearly full, so we sat at the bar. There were three servers on the floor - all students. All three were friendly, helpful and loquacious (we talked about college in general, how to take advantage of a college's resources, and even discussed desired future outcomes of their educations - plenty of interesting topics for a chill Sunday morning). Neal had the t-bone steak and eggs, while I ordered a dish known as Joetaters (diced potatoes, cheddar jack, eggs, onions, peppers, tomatoes, mushrooms; and a choice of either bacon, ham, country ham, or sausage). Joetaters also came with a choice of white or wheat toast (or you can choose a biscuit for an extra $1.50). I chose wheat toast, and the entree was excellent. Neal ate his entire meal, so it's safe to say we enjoyed our food. Joe's is an excellent diner with awesome food and service. I can't wait to dine there again when I return. Thank you, Joe's Diner!
