This place is SO hipster cool. There are a bunch of mini businesses inside once you enter the coffee shop. They even have a vintage record shop- so cute There is plenty of seating for studying! My coffee was good and I got in some good hours of studying. Definitely suggest you come here. Upstairs there is cool seating where you can look out the window too while sipping a drink and reading. Great study spot!!!!!

Located in a very "one of a kind" building named "CRAFTERIA" on Church Ave Downtown Roanoke, after reading their outdoor sign with a wonderful selection of coffees and hot chocolates, I decided to go inside to explore this Little Green Hive and see what this CRAFTERIA in the heart of Downtown Roanoke is all about. And what I discovered was this so called Little hive was full of a big selection of coffees, pasties, sandwiches, ice creams, among other items on the menu. It is the first business one encounters as one enters the CRAFTERIA. Today you can see it decorated for the Holidays and listen to Christmas music in the background. The cathedral ceiling at the entrance gives the place a majestic ambiance so deserving of the place. On the right side there is a comfortable sitting area with leather sofas and chairs to sit and enjoy your coffee and pastries with friends. I ordered the Peanut Butter Latte. The server behind the counter was very nice and had my coffee made and ready in no time at all. The high quality of the cardboard material and design of the cup was a reflection of the exquisite taste of this unique combination of dark chocolate, peanut butter, and coffee. The place has another sitting area with small black marble tables and chairs. As I sat on a chair next to one of these tables enjoying the Holiday music I observed another employee preparing the pastries. On the walls of the place there are some paintings from a local artist for viewing and for sale. And in the middle of the place their are some other arts and crafts from local artists. There are also some other stores inside such as two small beauty parlors, a Puerto Rican Restaurant "Delicias Boricuas," and a vinyl record store. What an amazing environment in the middle of Roanoke to stop, have a bite to eat, drink a cup of coffee, and enjoy with some friends wonderful artworks and music. I highly recommend this place to everyone who is in the area and would like a wonderful and unique dining experience, and also make a suggestion to those involved in the invigorating the City Market Building to use this as an example of attracting people to an area at the same time that it serves the artistic needs of a growing community.

Lovely location, cosy interior, many stalls with local crafts and produce. Great freshly brewed coffee, home made pastries, favs were cinnamon rolls and poppy seed-lemon muffins. Look forward to taste their smoothies.

Liked the unique atmosphere- a really chill space (shared with a few different vendors) with a stairwell leading up to seating and lounge areas on the second floor with windows look out on the street below. Lovely service, gluten-free and vegan options, reasonable prices. Highly recommend the "Purple Haze" latte!

It was fabulous. Just coming through from out of town looking for a great place to have a smoothie. Thrilled to find this beautiful old cafeteria with great coffee, cappuccino breakfast food, etc..

The place was very clean and organized. The ambiance felt refreshing and relaxing, very much like their products themselves. I was greeted with a warm welcome by two very friendly ladies who were wonderful introducing and explaining the menu to me. I first ordered the Golden Glow Smoothie, which contained my favorite fruit, Mango, among other things. It was served in a glass Mug and tasted very nourishing and refreshing. I sat at a table near one of the windows. And I enjoyed drinking the smoothie while looking outside through the window. Some other customers came in and ordered different Wellness Bowls. As I was about to leave, I noticed their Wellness Bowls and was attracted to how appetizing they looked. So I asked one of the servers to explain the different ones they had. Since I was still hungry, I then ordered a Chocolate Peanut Butter Wellness Bowl, and enjoyed it all the way. It was so refreshing and nourishing. I'm glad I stopped by this Juice Bar, highly recommend it to all of you reading my review, and plan to return in the near future, especially during the hot days of the summer, or when I feel like having a refreshing boost to brighten up my day.

They offer to go service as well as delivery and catering. As I entered the restaurant I loved its colorful, informal, and relaxed interior design with beautiful hardwood floors. It creates an inviting and friendly atmosphere, which is reinforced by the warm welcoming of its employees and their wonderful customer service. A young lady behind the counter greeted and welcomed me to the place and took my order. The menu was above behind the counter in a size big enough to be able to read it from far away. To drink I ordered a Mad's Mango Berry Smoothie. To eat I ordered the Turkey Avocado Wrap. And for dessert I ordered an Authentic Dutch Stroopwafles that came with two marshmallows on top. After paying for my order, I sat at one of the tables next to the wall and waited for it to be ready to pick up. It did not take long for my order to be ready. As soon as it was, they called me and I went up to get it. The Smoothie was nice and cold with a mixture of Banana, Orange, Raspberries, and Mango. Very refreshing indeed, especially now that the hot weather is approaching. The Turkey and Avocado Wrap came nicely wrapped in a fresh tortilla, with all the ingredients very nice and fresh. And the dessert was very unique and sweet. I invite all reading my review to look at my photographs accompanying it to better get a feel for the food and the place. While I was eating my food, several customers came in for Take out orders, mostly of Smoothies because it was almost time to close. I figure they must have more business for breakfast and lunch, and even during snack time. I highly recommend this restaurant for when you want to eat something healthy and not too big and a Smoothie to cool you down. Their Fruit and Grain Bowls also sounded very appealing as well.

At first, I was attracted by its white building front with light green awning and pink highlights around the building and its front door as well as around the restaurant's front sign. Its small patio in front with black iron outdoor dining furniture also attracted my attention. So I drove around looking for a place to park my pearl white Lexus, and I was lucky to find just across the street a few empty free 2 hour parking spaces. I parked in one of them and proceeded to walk to the restaurant. On one of its front windows it read: "Freshens - Fresh Food Kitchen." As I walked in, I immediately felt comfortable in this clean and bright environment with modern decor. The walls were brick walls painted white and decorated simple, with framed enlarged photographs of close-up of fruits & vegetables like tomatoes, corn, and strawberries, just to name a few. The floors were light color hardwood floors. Lit menus were located above, behind the counter, with items such as Smoothies, Grilled Flatbreads, Salads, Artisan Melts, Acai Bowls, and Rice Bowls. When I finally found the "Order Here" sign, located above an area of the counter, a friendly, young lady employee greeted me, and when I told her this was my first time there, she tried to find me a paper menu, but they had ran out. I ordered from the menu on the wall. To drink I ordered a Maui Mango Smoothie, that had mango, strawberries, and bananas. And to eat I ordered their a BBQ Bacon Chicken Grilled Flatbread. The Maui Mango Smoothie had just the right texture and tasted amazing. The mixture of its three fruits made it tast almost like guava, which is also one of my favorite tropical fruits. When my Grilled Flatbread was ready, they called me to pick it up. It tasted amazingly delicious! While I was eating, several other customers came by. Most of them had ordered already and just came to pick up their food "To Go." Others stayed and ate it there. The food and the smoothie were so fresh and healthy that I felt great after I finished them up. Oh, and for dessert I had a sliced of their Peanut Butter Pie and it was so soft and tasty, that made me want to return soon. After I returned home, I did my research and found out that this establishment was recognized as the 2026 leading Vegetarian Restaurant in Salem, Virginia. I highly recommend it and had wonderful healthy dining experience there.

A short while ago I had the privilege of reviewing its first location, in Downtown Roanoke, the largest establishment in Crafteria: Handmade Food and Goods, almost in the corner of S Jefferson Street and Church Avenue. Today I decided to visit the Little Green Hive in Grandin Village, located on Grandin Road in the heart of Grandin Village, right next to the 7-11 there. It shares the same entrance to the building where Rockfish Food and Wine Restaurant is located. After you enter a small foyer, the door on the right takes you to this Historic Grandin Village Coffee Shop, that serves Coffee, Smoothies, Smoothie Bowls, Fresh Juices, Breakfast Burritos & Bagels, and fresh pastries such as Fresh-baked Scones, Muffins, Cinnamon Rolls, and Large Chocolate Chip Cookies. When I entered through the white french door that led to this Coffee Shop located in a small yet very cozy space of a Victorian building with beautiful original hardwood floors and a lovely wide window with a long counter table and high chairs facing out the window looking out towards the sidewalk, I was simply amazed at how well by using different color paints for the walls, a white furniture counter, blackboards with color chalk menus, and contemporary yet comfortable furniture, they have created a cozy and inviting space, very appropriate to contribute to the dining experience itself. At the ordering counter, a gentleman employee warmly greeted and welcomed me with a smile. Then he took my breakfast order. I ordered a Bacon, Egg and Cheese on a plain Bagel Sandwich, a large Caffè Mocha, and one of their famous Cinnamon Roll, which by the way I had seen how they make them from scratch when I visited their Downtown Roanoke store. Another of their employee, a young lady, was the one who prepared the items ordered and the would place them on the pick-up table when ready and call the name of the items to be picked up and taken by the customer to their table. As I sat down waiting for my food to be ready. I noticed the positive chemistry emanating from the other customers there. A few young ladies who looked like friends were having breakfast and chatting at the window counter. An midage gentleman was seated in one of the relaxed and comfortable, leather chairs up front and listening to his music while he enjoyed his coffee. An older wise gentleman was serving as a mentor to a younger what looked like college student. And a group of four older but graceful and energetic ladies just arrived and were seated down at a table getting ready to have a pleasant breakfast meeting, while enjoying their coffee and breakfast treats. This restaurant was serving the community well. I could feel it in the air. While on its walls, there were artworks from a local artist hanging with a name and price tag and information on the artist with a QR code to the Artist's website and instructions on how to buy these and other of her works of art. While all this was happening I had already picked up my breakfast and was enjoying it at my table. Needless to say that everything tasted delicious. From my Mocha Coffee that had just the right flavor, to the Bagel Breakfast Sandwich which was fresh and soft with fresh ingredients, to the Cinnamon that was so sweet. I invite the readers of this review to also look at my photographs and video-clip accompanying the review to better appreciate this place and its food.
