Such a sweet and calm vibe in here! Kind baristas and extensive coffee flavors and creative menu. Everything feels well-crafted and intentional! Today we got a white chocolate raspberry scone & same-flavor latte! delish! (Plus, the large is LARGE!!)

This place is SO hipster cool. There are a bunch of mini businesses inside once you enter the coffee shop. They even have a vintage record shop- so cute There is plenty of seating for studying! My coffee was good and I got in some good hours of studying. Definitely suggest you come here. Upstairs there is cool seating where you can look out the window too while sipping a drink and reading. Great study spot!!!!!

Located in a very "one of a kind" building named "CRAFTERIA" on Church Ave Downtown Roanoke, after reading their outdoor sign with a wonderful selection of coffees and hot chocolates, I decided to go inside to explore this Little Green Hive and see what this CRAFTERIA in the heart of Downtown Roanoke is all about. And what I discovered was this so called Little hive was full of a big selection of coffees, pasties, sandwiches, ice creams, among other items on the menu. It is the first business one encounters as one enters the CRAFTERIA. Today you can see it decorated for the Holidays and listen to Christmas music in the background. The cathedral ceiling at the entrance gives the place a majestic ambiance so deserving of the place. On the right side there is a comfortable sitting area with leather sofas and chairs to sit and enjoy your coffee and pastries with friends. I ordered the Peanut Butter Latte. The server behind the counter was very nice and had my coffee made and ready in no time at all. The high quality of the cardboard material and design of the cup was a reflection of the exquisite taste of this unique combination of dark chocolate, peanut butter, and coffee. The place has another sitting area with small black marble tables and chairs. As I sat on a chair next to one of these tables enjoying the Holiday music I observed another employee preparing the pastries. On the walls of the place there are some paintings from a local artist for viewing and for sale. And in the middle of the place their are some other arts and crafts from local artists. There are also some other stores inside such as two small beauty parlors, a Puerto Rican Restaurant "Delicias Boricuas," and a vinyl record store. What an amazing environment in the middle of Roanoke to stop, have a bite to eat, drink a cup of coffee, and enjoy with some friends wonderful artworks and music. I highly recommend this place to everyone who is in the area and would like a wonderful and unique dining experience, and also make a suggestion to those involved in the invigorating the City Market Building to use this as an example of attracting people to an area at the same time that it serves the artistic needs of a growing community.

Liked the unique atmosphere- a really chill space (shared with a few different vendors) with a stairwell leading up to seating and lounge areas on the second floor with windows look out on the street below. Lovely service, gluten-free and vegan options, reasonable prices. Highly recommend the "Purple Haze" latte!

It was fabulous. Just coming through from out of town looking for a great place to have a smoothie. Thrilled to find this beautiful old cafeteria with great coffee, cappuccino breakfast food, etc..

As you enter the Coffee House doors, you begin to see the above take form. There are different seating areas with comfortable furniture. There is an area where paintings from locals of the community decorate the walls and are for sale. Another area with arts and crafts for sale as well. Free WiFi so customers can drop by and do some work as they drink a cup of coffee. While I was there, a customer did just that. The owner gave me a warm and friendly welcome and explained all the food items they had for breakfast and lunch. They have freshly baked New York Bagels shippedfrom New York daily. To drink I ordered a medium Caffè Mocha. To eat I ordered a Breakfast Sandwich with a Cloverdale Plain Bagel, with Bacon, Egg, and Cheese. And finish with something sweet, a Cherry Danish. The Mocha was amazingly good The Bagel was very large and fresh; crunchy on the outside and soft and moist ingredients the inside with a nice size portion of Bacon, Egg, and Cheese. I spent some time there and was able to meet one of the employees who happened to arrive during this time. I also met a nice older couple who enjoy eating at different restaurants and I recommended them Crooked Shoreline Steak and Seafood from Daleville, which I just finished eating there and few days before, and was the first to review this restaurant for Yelp. They loved the oral recap of my review and promised they would go that same event to dine there. They in turn recommended me Nakhon Thai Cuisine which I will be doing there and reviewing for Yelp next Tuesday. Amazingly, what I wrote about at the beginning of this review did take place during the time I was there. God has blessed this Coffee House in a very special way, and it was providing more than just food and drinks for the body, but also for the soul. I highly recommend this Coffee House to all reading this review and viewing the photographs taken for it. In this day and age that it is hard to find a place like this to enjoy a cup of coffee, meet interesting people to socialize with, and do some productive work. This Coffee Shop has a refreshing concept that everyone in the community should take advantage of and contribute to its success as well as benefit from it.

And Sugar Cube Cafe in Roanoke, Virginia, is the perfect example. This family-owned Bakery, Cafe, and Gift Shop is located in a small outdoor strip mall across from the Valley View Mall in Roanoke, Virginia. The owners are a husband and wife couple with a very enthusiastic family member who works there welcoming the customers, introducimg its products, and taking the customers orders. From the time I parked my car in the extensive parking lot next to their corner shop, a van parked next to me and it so happened to be the owner of the shop who is of Asian origin. When he saw I was headed the way of the shop, he introduced himself and gave me a warm welcome. Later inside I had the opportunity of meeting his wife and co-owner, who made my Boba Coffee that I ordered. When I entered the shop I was just expecting to find gourmet cupcakes, but what I found besides the wonderful cupcakes, were gourmet cheesecakes, macaroons, bubble coffee and tea, milkshakes, ice creams, mini pancakes, large cookies, and even Ramen Noodles and Udon, among other treats. The shop also had many stuffed animals and Asian dolls and posters and toys. I ordered a Midnight Magic Cupcake and a Boba Coffee with French Vanilla Cream. The Cupcake was $5.00 and the Boba Coffee was $10.00. The items here are not cheap, but they are definitely worth the money. I invite you to view my photographs and videos accompanying my review to get a better sense of the place and its products for sale there. It has a cozy atmosphere and friendly staff. In a short time, it has become the Coffee Shop in Vinton to go in the morning to enjoy a good gourmet coffee or tea, together with a breakfast sandwich, a bagel with cream cheese made in the house, or a sweet pastry. When I arrived to have breakfast, the place was almost full with people of all ages. In one corner two businessmen elegantly dressed in business suits with laptops were seated in one table with what seemed like talking business, a couple had just arrived and sat in another table drinking their coffee and socializing, two other men dressed more informal also with a laptop at another table discussing something, two young ladies seated at a counter with comfortable high chairs socializing, a husband and wife seated next to the Christmas tree enjoying some quality time together, and the manager of the place seated at a small table doing some work his computer. This not counting all those who came in to pickup takeout orders to go. One could tell that the community was taking full advantage of this beautiful and clean place with contemporary decor, large windows, and high ceilings. It also had a Community Bulletin Board on one wall near the wall for customers to post information on events happening as well as business cards of their businesses or services provided. When I arrived I was warmly greeted by a young lady employee behind the counter who was very knowledgeable about the menu of the Coffee Shop and explained to me the breakfast sandwiches that they had and took my order for one of them in a plain bagel and a large Mocha Latte Coffee. As soon as the order was ready she brought the items to the table where I was seated with a friendly smile, providing exceptional customer service. The coffee tasted absolutely Devine and was nice and hot; and the breakfast sandwich had a fresh plain bagel that was toasted to perfection, crunchy in the outside and soft in the inside, filled with fresh ingredients that together tasted amazingly delicious. Without a question, I would highly recommend this Coffee Shop to all reading my review and looking at my photographs accompanying it. This is definitely a relaxing place to go to socialize and spend quality time with family and friends, to do some work or have a meeting with work associates, or even for entrepreneurs to brainstorm ideas to start a business in the future or to make their current business grow. They also have another location in nearby Salem. I used the app for getting in line which typically works flawlessly. My time to arrive was 15-20 and upon arrival in that frame a table was ready. A host seated us with menus and silverware. Our group of four looked over the menu as a waitress arrived minutes later. She got the drink order and arrived back in short order. We were ready to order. I cannot remember what everyone got, but I had the Spring chimichurri special and added an avocado. The dining room was packed as was their outdoor patio. The noise was elevated, but not piercing. We had a table near the patio. I enjoyed my coffee as we waited for brunch orders. It's impossible to not be impressed with the hard working staff as they quickly moved through the dining room. After around 15 to no more than 20 minutes the food hit the table. The millionaire bacon is always a huge hit and recommend. Everyone's dishes were correct. My dish overall looked smaller than I've had before. Everyone enjoyed their dishes. The avocado add was two tiny pieces which was disappointing. When our waitress checked in I alerted her the avocado add on was underwhelming. She immediately addressed it with additional. She also got another water craft. Checkout was efficient up front. In my opinion First Watch offers a higher level service, good and atmosphere. Located in the Ivy Market Shopping Center, a small, high-end, new construction, outdoor shopping mall, in Southwest Roanoke, with other exclusive stores and restaurants such as Mellow Mushroom, Earth Fare, Taziki's Mediterranean Café, Walgreens, and Carilion Clinic Institute for Orthopedics and Neurosciences, First Watch is an award-winning breakfast, brunch, and lunch restaurant, serving a chef-driven menu of elevated classics and seasional specialties, always made to order. This morning, I woke up early and was at the restaurant as soon as it opened at seven o'clock in the morning. It was still dark out, but the bright light coming out from its windows was the best indication that it was open and ready for customers to arrive. As soon as I was seated at the table of my choice a friendly and very hospitable, young lady greeted me and asked what I wanted to drink..I asked for a cup of coffee and a glass of freshly-squeezed orange juice. To eat I ordered the Chimichurri Steak & Eggs Hash, with the eggs cooked over easy, and the steak medium-rare. I love the warm and welcoming ambiance of this place. Everyone is so friendly and kind. And the chef always comes out with culinary masterpieces. I invite you to view my photographs accompanying this review to get a better sense of the place and the quality of the food. In no time at all my server arrived holding a plate with something on it that looked like a culinary work of art. The chef had once again overexeeded my high expectations of how the menu item would look, and as I would quickly find out, of how it would taste. My server came around at the appropriate times to see if I needed anything. What could have improved is that she brought me the bill and placed it on the table, without asking me if I was ready for it. I was thinking of having something sweet at the end, but because of this, didn't. Hope management takes this constructive feedback only as an improvement of their otherwise wonderful restaurant. Other than this, I had an extraordinary dining experience, and highly recommend this place for a top-of-the-line breakfast or lunch.

After being awarded the Triad Yelper of the Year 2024 Award at the Yelpies Award Ceremony last year, an event that honored the highest-performing Yelp Elites, I decided that this year, as an All-Star Yelp Elite, I not only wanted to be the first to discover new shops and restaurants and bring them to the attention of the public, but also to uncover those found in hidden paths that for one reason or another have not reached the public in its totality. And 7 Stars Lounge in West Downtown Roanoke, Virginia, is the perfect example. 7 Stars Lounge is a very unique business indeed. It's a combination of a Cigar Lounge, Bar, and Cafe. After retiring, Larry the co-owner with his wife Mini decided to open a business that embodied the things that they enjoy most in life. The husband enjoys smoking a good cigar, relaxing in a leather recliner, while watching a large screen TV or talking with friends. So originated the concept of a Cigar Lounge. In their business, this lounge is located in a separate adjacent room with leather recliners, side tables, large screen TVs, and two pool tables. Just outside of this room is a humidifier room where they have a great variety of quality cigars for sale. While other Cigar Lounges make you pay for a membership in order to enjoy the place. Here, as long as you purchase any item from the Cigar store, Bar, or Cafe. You have the right to enjoy the Cigar Lounge for free. The wife's, who is a Chinese native, and co-owner of the business, favorite food is the Chicago Hot Dog. So they decided that the Cafe specialty would center around the genuine Chicago-style Hot Dog, with autentic Vienna Beef Hot Dogs. This hot dog is inserted into a soft poppyseed bun and topped with mustard, Chicago-style relish, chopped onions, half-sliced tomatoes, a pickle spear, and a sport pepper, to give it that extra crunch and flavor. Besides this, they also have other Hot Dogs like the Chili Hot Dog, the Kraut Hot Dog, and the Original Hot Dog. As for me I like a good hot dog, so I welcome this new addition to the culinary lineup in the Star City. The menu also includes some Sandwiches, Breakfast Sandwiches, Bakery items, Salads, and authentic Fried Rice cooked by the wife. She is also planning on cooking freshly made donuts from scratch. The Bar they plan to have will only have beers (draft brews like Stella Artois and Heineken plus bottles and cans) and a selection of wines. The restaurant's space itself is a nice size and furnished with quality wood tables and chairs. They already plan to hold a group party their which will consume a selection of items from their menu. Today, I ordered two Chicago style Hot Dogs and a can of Dr Pepper to drink. And they tasted amazingly delicious. Specially the quality of the Vienna Beef franks, which is known for their signature snap, that you don't find in many other hot dog places. And the fresh and soft poppyseed buns that topped off the favor and texture of the dogs, not including the other wonderful ingredients. I'm not a smoker so one of my concerns going to eat there was if the smoke of the Cigar Lounge would reach the Cafe, and I can assure you it didn't. The door that devides the two is very tight. My other concern was the parking situation. But in front of the business they have several parking spaces for the exclusive use of their customers. I highly recommend this place for those who enjoy the different items I've written about in this review. The owners are so friendly and nice that we should give them our support. I'm looking forward to returning one morning to have breakfast there, and to trying out their homemade donuts and fried rice.
