Rick and all the guys did a fantastic job on my son Room. Tim and the gang rebuilt the Sun Room from the ground up and did a great job.The floor guy put in beautiful wood floors the stucco guy finished the sides and made it look like part of the house. The electrician hid all the wires so you would never know he had even been there. All in all Rick and his crews did a fantastic job and from beginning to end I am very satisfied. read more

I recently had a few estimates for a lattice patio cover for my backyard. I decided to go with RKC because after meeting with James I felt very confidant that they gave me a good price and would do exactly what I wanted. Over the years I've dealt with several different contractors while remodeling my home so I've grown really particular in who I hire to work on my house. After meeting with the owner of RKC I knew I made the right decision. On the day of the installation the workers showed up on time and were very polite and confirmed with me the layout of the patio cover and by the end of the day I had a beautiful new patio cover. My yard just has a whole new look to it and I couldn't be happier. It was a pleasure working with RKC the whole staff was nice and professional and most importantly the workers did a great job and cleaned up after they were done. They even moved my patio furniture back under the cover for me. I will defiantly recommend them to anyone who's looking to get a patio cover. I just wish I had used them sooner. read more

RKC was referred to us by a friend. They constructed a covered patio and pergola, with Elitewood.Very professional and on time. We love our patio and pergola. The best part is that they are super responsive (especially the owner, Rick). We were so thrilled with the end product, that we recommended them to our dear friends. Their job (like ours), got done ahead of the estimated date and they are extremely happy with the entire process and end product. RKC did not disappoint and they do classy work! read more

My wife and I could not be happier than we are after Rick and his RKC Construction crew constructed our Life Room in our back yard. It is now our most used room because of it's great flexibility and features. RKC was one of the very few who build them in San Diego County and Rick himself oversaw the entire project from beginning to end. They fulfilled every commitment they made to us from price to order to building completion and included after completion follow-up. Being a salesperson myself I would strongly recommend at least giving RKC Construction an opportunity to earn your business. You won't be disappointed read more

I was so very pleased with the patio cover that I recently had installed by RKC. Everyone involved in the entire project was so professional and polite. From the original sales presentation, demolition of the old cover to the design and installation and cleanup of the new one, it was so well done . I went from a slatted style to a solid cover and am so happy I did. Thank you Mike, for that suggestion! I highly recommend this company and their staff to anyone wanting a professional and well executed plan. I will definitely use them again for other projects. read more

My husband and I are enjoying our new porch cover! Our experience with RKC was top notch from beginning to end. James, our salesman gave a very informative presentation, answered all of our questions and was not high pressure at all. Rick, the owner came to measure and explained the installation process to us. He was great! Kristine followed up with our appointments and was so cheerful and helpful throughout the process. Plus a joy to talk to. Justin, Dante and Jose were the installers for the job. They were very professional, cleaned up after each day and all came with a great attitude. I would highly recommend this company to any of our friends or relatives! A+++ read more

I am SO happy with the patio cover RKC constructed for me. It far exceeded my expectations and has made my backyard a really special place to be. Mike really understood what it was I wanted and designed the patio cover of my dreams. Everyone who has seen it thinks I must have spent a FORTUNE on it, but I got 3 bids from local companies and RKC was the best by far. I highly recommend RKC for your outdoor living upgrades. read more

First off I would like to say how professional and accommodating the owner Rick was during our second project for our "Liferoom" & turf which is finally installed after we saved enough funds to give the green light. You worked diligently with us giving an honest price so we could do both projects which made me get emotional on you a few times so please forgive me. You were there overseeing my project throughout the beginning phases of the process making sure the design came out exactly as we planned which is much appreciated. You were nice to my wife and kids too which was a huge blessing for us providing new hats and some cool t-shirts! Thanks again for making this a stress free experience and for being patient with us and all of our questions & concerns throughout the install. Your crew was on time as expected & was very nice to us once again. They did a fantastic job cleaning up the leftover materials that were piled in the driveway area and (didn't leave our gates open) each time they exited the property which was a concern that you addressed immediately. The finished products look amazing and we are so grateful that your team was consistently on time and efficient so we could show it off in time for our Christmas party! A special thank you as well for going the extra mile and contacting a few guys to help me with my inside projects. I will be sending tons of business your way and will be sharing our second 5 star experience with family, friends, and co-workers! I hope to do more business in the near future Rick. Thank you again my man. read more

I called RKC for a quote for a replacement patio cover. RKC was super quick with getting back to me and scheduling a consultation. We selected RKC Construction for their design and material brand recommendations, and their quoted price for our lattice patio cover project. We are very pleased with the finished product finding the cover achieved our objective of reducing the direct sunshine on the rear of our home while adding a very attractive entertainment area in our backyard. I would RKC Construction to anyone looking for a quality patio cover. read more

RKC installed a 60' x 12' patio cover about 3 years ago. Our design had a solid cover on the ends and open rafters in the center. When it rained our roof drains to the patio cover side. The rain would come off the roof and to the cement patio where the cover was open. A conventional rain gutter would not fit. I requested, and RKC fabricated, a thin but wide rain gutter. It was installed last year and held back the rain perfectly. This year the gutter started leaking at the seams during the small rain fall after summer. I called Rick and within a week he sent a crew out to re-seal the seams using a different sealing method. RKC stands by their work. That's why they get 5 stars. read more

A good bunch of guys! We have no regrets about going with RKC for our backyard patio cover. Their in-home consultant, Mike, was a total professional, full of information and conveying a "we're here to help" vibe. There were some issues to contend with in the design with our roof, and we got the feeling Mike and his team really wanted to get it right. The installation did get briefly delayed due to supplier issues, but all things considered, that was a minor concern. When the actual install did happen, the team was swift, getting it all done in a day and a half, working efficiently, without unnecessary noise, and cleaning up as they went along. The product itself is awesome -- designed well, well-suited to the space, and it looks sharp and modern. It's a solid value that we feel was a good investment in our property and significantly enhances the livability of our outdoor spaces. This company is a safe choice. read more

RKC Construction - Winter 2018 installation - Patio Coverings Near Me - Lakeside, California

Wonderful price, very fair, they offer multiple services which can be a convenience. Though little red flags were being waved throughout the presentation. I would have selected them and gone with some optional work that would have given them another $900 on top of my initial wants and needs. Without giving the owner free advice to help him make more money in the future, I'll just pass along that I am going with more expensive contractors. While guilt by association is not fair for two unlike unconnected people, employees are a different matter. A boss hires people who reflect his interests and ideals, enough said. Because of the price, I actually continued to consider RKC hours after my appointment until I read a review on this site from 10 months ago... That sealed the deal. This is RKC's character. Sure, there'll be people who don't see the faults like I saw, then again, 245,000 people also voted for Bob Filner in 2012; a flawed man with many years of vitriol behind him. To each, his own. Be careful on who you choose to work with. The one star was required by Yelp and they do get a little credit based on pretty good pricing. Price weighs in at about 35-40% of my decision though. I'll give my hard-earned money to someone who deserves it. Think of it this way... You spend money today and you'll live with it for years to come. Epilogue: I received a telephone call before the person giving the quote came out... The name on the Caller ID matched that of one of the previous reviewers and the family name of a second reviewer of this company who both gave 5-star ratings. read more

I went to Home Depot to inquire about a patio cover and I ran into an RKC salesman named Mike. Right away I could tell that he was very knowledgable after already speaking to several other companies. He was patient with me and showed me different options for a few weeks until I was comfortable enough to make up my mind. There was no pressure from him and he was very professional. The guys that installed my product were very experienced and were able to help me decide the set up for my patio addition. After installation the product looks great! Mike's follow up with me was 5 star service. The product was installed in a timely manor and he was able to organize the entire process so that there was no stress on me whatsoever. I will be referring RKC to all of my family and friends and will call them for further projects in the future. Thanks again guys! read more

We had all our windows upgraded and a Patio installed by Rick at RKC about 5 years ago. Although I can't say we didn't have a few minor issues along the way, Rick made things right. In fact, today he had one of his men out to fix a minor problem, NO HASSELS!! With my many years of dealing with contractors, I'm talking about 3 out of 6 never even showing up to give a quote, and most of the others with drug or gambling issues. Not returning for days and begging for money upfront (Bla, Bla, Bla) I found RKC to be very reliable. On time, good pricing and stands behind his warranty. I mean really, 5 years later! Most of these companies aren't even still in business, much less coming back to fix something once they've already gotten paid. Thanks again Rick, and I'll still be sending referrals'. I used to like my backyard, now I LOVE IT thanks to the professionals at RKC! The all-white patio cover we selected was put in quick and efficient. Honestly, I thought the process was going to take 2-3 days, but it only took 1 day! Amazing! And, we were certain the lovely retaining wall which we are stuck and doesn't run exactly parallel to the back of our house was going to be a problem, but RKC turned it into a non-issue and got us sold on a clever solution! Those dudes rock and they know their stuff!!! We are super happy with the outcome and love to sit out back with good friends, good music, good drinks and good food in our great patio! =) read more

After leaving a three star review due to various issues , I received a very polite and conciliatory phone call from the other owner of this company. He was very concerned about our experience and suggested that it was a result of some stressful personal issues within the company that are being addressed. RKC did a great job, at my rental, replacing the carport. They did a good job from beginning to end and the carport just looks great! I considered rebuilding it with wood, but, the aluminum product RKC uses looks just like wood and I don't ever have to worry about painting or termites, again. Much more economical, compared to wood, as well. Everyone, at RKC, was great from sales to installation! read more

My wife and I had James come over and give us an estimate today. We are in the market to buy a patio cover and had a good idea of the price range we were willing to pay. Let me say that the price quote he gave us fell within that range for something that seems like a decent quality product. However, my wife and I have never experienced such rude and belittling customer service from someone. To start with, James seemed frustrated that my wife was asking questions. They advertise that they don't do high pressure sales...well we felt pressured and he even asked us for a down payment after acting like a jerk to me and my wife. I'm a Marine Corps veteran and when I saw the look on my wife's face, I know this guy definitely had to be out of our house right away. These people have no sense of customer service whatsoever and it leads me to question how a company like this would treat its customers if they ever needed something fixed. I called the owner, Rick Crawford, and he apologized after my wife got upset. I told him I was willing to pay cash had his company offered the price range I was looking for (which it did) but that I would not even think of doing business with a company that belittles its potential customers. We are definitely taking our business elsewhere, RKC. read more

We got referred to RKC from someone in Santee and decided to go with him, even though we're in LA. RKC CONSTRUCTION saved us!! We hired what seemed to be a large Landscape and Construction Company, in which I have to leave anonymous after a long drawn out breach of contract battle (the company settled with us in exchange with an agreement that we would not write any bad reviews on any public forum referencing the company's name) We had several contractors visit and most did not call back to provide a quote (that's what kind of mess the other company left us with!!) Rick Crawford's son originally came out to try and provide a quote but he had Rick come out to make sure the quote provided would be accurate. Rick came out as promised and provided a fair reasonable price to fix the MESS the other company left. RKC completed the job within a week, asking our input before every step and left us with BEAUTIFUL hard scape! I couldn't have asked for better, we only wish we would have found RKC sooner. For every home improvement, you can bet we will be contacting RKC! In fact--we just contacted Rick again today for a much smaller job and there's already someone coming out tomorrow to provide a quote. RKC is an honest, reliable company that delivers--definitely contact them first before anyone else! read more
