They tackled our monstrous solid-top patio cover like it was no big deal--poof, gone! Hector or "Junior" worked on my residential driveway expansion and block wall project in September…read more2020. Junior arrived onsite 15 minutes before scheduled and was offloaded in mere minutes ready to work. His youthful appearance is deceiving because he possesses skills and talents far beyond his boyish looks. That's because Juniors dad was teaching Hector how to operate excavators and bobcats when other boys of his age were playing LEGOs. I was initially a bit nervous watching Junior tear out my concrete driveway and vegetation. But after a few minutes, I quickly realized that I was in the presence of a journeyman equipment operator. Junior is the real deal. The only things he lacked were years of facial wrinkles and a fat cigar in the mouth. Given today's entitlement mentality, it's refreshing to work with Junior. He has a very strong work ethic, thanks to his father. Courteous, quiefriendly, attentive, communicative, and efficient are some of the attributes I observed about Junior. And he worked very "clean". In the future, I plan to hire Junior for my backyard remodel and house expansion projects. Junior, if you're reading this, you need to tell your dad "thank you". Be thankful that you have a dad who cares and passed onto you the skills you possess today.

I needed a full pool removal and, after getting several quotes from different contractors,…read moreultimately chose Colossal Excavation. It turned out to be the right decision. From our first meeting, Francisco took the time to clearly explain every step of the process, including obtaining the city permit, demolition, backfilling, soil compaction, and providing a soil compaction/inspection report that will be valuable if I ever decide to build an ADU. He also walked me through the removal of the pool equipment, demolition of the surrounding flatwork, and the proper capping of the electrical and gas lines. His knowledge and attention to detail gave me confidence that the project would be done correctly. On top of that, his pricing was competitive and very reasonable. Francisco and his father, Rigo, make an outstanding team. They arrived promptly at 7:00 a.m. every day, kept me informed throughout the entire project, and coordinated every step seamlessly--from city inspections to imported fill dirt and soil compaction testing. Everything happened exactly as Francisco had explained from the beginning. Throughout the demolition and backfilling process, they worked carefully and professionally, always prioritizing safety and leaving the job site clean and organized at the end of each day. It's rare to find contractors who are this dependable, communicative, and take such pride in their work. I highly recommend Francisco, Rigo, and Colossal Excavation to anyone needing a pool removal, excavation, grading, or site preparation project. Their professionalism, honesty, and quality of work exceeded my expectations, and I wouldn't hesitate to hire them again.

I would like to recommend Ivan's Masonry for your outdoor improvement projects if you are looking…read morefor outstanding craftsmanship and value for your money. We hired Ivan's Masonry for two jobs: driveway renovation and a new stairway with walkway. From onset it was a long journey for us figuring out what material we will be comfortable with. Ivan patiently consulted us on every available material: concrete, stamping, coloring, and many styles from different providers of concrete pavers. None really resonated with our vision. After a month of research we ended up selecting clay pavers for their traditional look and lasting quality. The problem was that no contractor in our area would even consider working with clay pavers. Initially Ivan also refused but with some prodding he actually agreed to install clay pavers and did an amazing job. The team would start consistently punctually at 7 am and worked full days. Ivan, the owner, would work on the job 100%, including operating the equipment and setting the pavers. The site was kept reasonably clean and the process was well organized. We love the results. Our house became the model for the street as a first house with pavers. Many people complimented on the improvements and expressed the desire to contract with Ivan's Masonry. We are wising Ivan to prosper in his business, and for you guys - wishing you to choose your masonry contractor wisely. Go Ivan's Masonry!
