We came here because I really wanted a good vegan breakfast burrito that wasn't $20 like Millie's is. Millie's on sunset is bomb but crazy expensive now. So I found Rize. The gentlemen who helped with my order offered suggestions and I went with the Lions burrito. The burrito came with salad and hash brown. The portions are incredible. And the burrito? Holy moly... and vegan??? Y'all. It was mouthwatering, flavorful, and you can tell made with love. In He makes the vegan brisket in the grill. Yoooo, best vegan breakfast burrito hands down. And I've been to a lot of vegan restaurants. Y'all need to come here like yesterday! He also includes a salad with your meal which I wasn't sure of with my breakfast but even the salad was amazing. House salads are never amazing. Can't wait to return. They're doing it all right here. The music and vibe were 100.

WOW!!! 10/10!!! I could not stop talking about how I wanted a sausage egg mcmuffin last night and it's like the culinary gods heard and said we'll do you one better. Enter - Rize Kitchen. We live in AD and have been waiting for a lowkey spot like this that serves incredible breakfast food with high quality ingredients. I was so impressed! I ordered the sun-rise with hash brown and my husband ordered the little big kahuna. My sun-rise was EXACTLY what I was craving but much more elevated. English muffin was soft, hash browns crispy, sausage patty umami, and melty cheese was perfect. To say I inhaled this sandwich would be an understatement. If I had room I would have tried my husband's sandwich - he loved it!! Spam + king's Hawaiian bread is such a classic combo for us. All sandwiches come with a beautiful kale and grape salad. Shout out to the chef for making us eat our greens! We got complimentary orange juice from the staff - excellent friendly service can be found here. This place is dog friendly!!! They had a water bowl near the front for your puppers. We brought our Luna and she enjoyed hanging and maybe got a few scraps... 100% will be back. This was such an excellent start to our day. We can't wait to try everything else!

The brisket burrito is bomb! Just walked by this restaurant by accident and walking into the restaurant was one of the best decision I made. It's definitely a must when you visit LA! This place is amazing. The guys cooking are all kitchen gods. Honestly the burrito I got was the best. I was super excited about the breakfast sandwich but the burrito stole the show. Both hands down some of the best breakfast items I've ever had. Got the vegan breakfast burrito and breakfast sandwich. Even my friend who isn't vegan said that was one of the best burritos she's ever had 100/100. I'll be back this weekend! Honorable mention that kale salad was just perfect!! Ahh we finally came to visit Eddie and his new relocated place! The place has good comfortable seating indoors and a few chairs to sit outside as well. For small parties or large parties. The service was fast and friendly. The food taste just as delicious as before. So glad to see eddie thriving! Glad Steven and I came to visit! They are also pet friendly! To start off I just want to say that I am vegan! There menu has quality vegan options that's plant based as suppose to soy, which I greatly appreciate. Finally tried this place after walking by for the longest time. We tried the uptown and brisket burritos. Both were solid in flavor and size. The uptown was a little salty but was loaded with filling. The brisket had a great amount for the price too. The burritos came with a side salad and it was BOMB. The salsa was delish too! We would def come back. I think they're card only so no pay with cash.

Been wanting to try Rize and finally had the opportunity to today. Conveniently located inside of Lift Coffee Roasters on the SW corner of Greenleaf and Bailey, right in the heart of Uptown Whittier. Lift is a nice "upscale" coffee roaster that we used to come to for various vegan pop-ups that they would host, and I must say, the permanent addition of Rize Kitchen seems so fitting and has elevated the overall atmosphere. Sunday morning 9am and while things were jammin', so were the employees of both establishments which was noticeable and resulted in a great flow, which benefits the entire experience so much. Nothing better than a bustling breakfast spot where everyone works in a synchronized fashion like a well oiled machine. The service was fast, friendly, and attentive at both businesses and the wait times were very reasonable given the crowd and rate at which they were cranking out orders. I had the vegan Sonriza burrito and my fiancée and future father in law had the vegan breakfast sandwiches with the optional addition of hash browns. Each item came with a delicious kale, grape, pumpkin seed, carrot, dried cranberry salad, and the burrito was amazing. Such a unique combination of flavors which is refreshing given the current climate of vegan food options and things becoming very homogenized as a result of the availability of vegan products. The sandwich is more aligned with a "standard" option, but still has their own twist to make it their own, and the critics of my party had rave reviews - "the sun dried tomato aioli is awesome!", one critic exclaimed. Happy to report this place is a big success and that it further enhances another local business that was already great in its own right. Will definitely be back!

Found this place a while back but never had the time to visit before they close, today I had the opportunity and they didn't not let me down! I ordered the 3 vegan options they have, sabanero burrito, Sun-rise breakfast sandwich, and the BTLA sandwich. First off, the owner was very helpful and told us about the items we were ordering, he gave us his suggestion to add the hash brown to the Sun-rise sandwich, which added a better taste (fyi, add it if you order it). Overall great experience and great flavor on the food, it was consistent on all items. One thing I can recommend, is not to remove the sauces, that is what gives it a better taste! Kudos to the owner and we will be back! If you are in the area and to try their food, make sure you check their hours before visiting them.

Absolutely delicious and such a welcoming place! I found this hidden gem by looking up Vegan Breakfast on Yelp & I was quickly in love with the great service, the one of a kind Sabanero vegan burrito w crisp kale salad & the lavender latte w almond milk from the adjacent coffee shop, Lift. I initially called to ask questions about the vegan options & Eddie who answered was so polite he quickly text me the menu & told me to text back my order so he could have it ready. I live about 2 hrs away & was visiting for a weekend sports tournament. I had such a great experience on Sat that I went back on Sun to order the same perfectly delicious Sabanero vegan burrito! I noticed a man who was also there the day before so this told me this place is a local favorite. Both Eddie and Aaron were cooking the delicious food which smelled so good and everything was so clean! I will definitely go back when I'm in the area! read more

Fan-freaking-tastic. So good I feel compelled to review. I came here for lunch with my friend and we got the BLTA (v) and the Truffe Egg Sandwich. We were both drooling over our food and even the salad that came with it. Their homemade salsa is also probably the best I've ever tasted. Big servings- I had half my sando leftover for later. Love that they have options to please both vegan/vegetarian diets as well as meat-eaters! The friendly, welcoming staff was an added bonus. One of the best breakfast burrito spots in Los Angeles. The staff and owner are all extremely nice and prepare the food with a lot of care and expertise. They literally smoke the brisket in house and just seeing the meaty goodness is a beautiful sight. I love the kimchi breakfast burrito, pairing kimchi, egg, hash brown, brie cheese, sausage and several other ingredients for a very unique but deeply satisfying burrito. The brisket burrito is also amazing. Each breakfast burrito comes with a salad of greens, nuts, and grapes which acts as a nice pairing to the decadent burritos. Parking is easy in this area and there is plenty of seating inside so come by and see just how good these are for yourself. I cannot recommend this place enough! read more

I came across Rize when they were in Whittier. I remember the first time I had their Sunrise breakfast sandwich I was hooked, mind blown and addicted. Unfortunately they had to leave the Whittier location but they are back in business now in DTLA! My favorites are the Sunrise breakfast sandwich and Uptown burrito. Chef Eddy is one of the coolest chefs I have ever met. Down to earth, compassionate, hard working and brilliant. Will be back soon! read more

If you've ever been to a restaurant that claims to have wild mushrooms, but all you're served is crimini, you know the disappointment. This is what those other places should strive to be! I just had the best mushroom burrito of my life. Deliciously marinated lions Maine mushrooms are the star of this meal. The salsa tastes like something my Tia would make to go with pozole. You can really tell that the chef loves his business and is striving to be the best! read more

Just tried this place for the first time this week. My husband ordered us the burrito sabanero and man, it's so good! First of all, extra points for the name! If you know, I had the song stuck in my head all day LOL. At first I thought the burrito looked wimpy but it was super filling and the ingredients were perfectly distributed. It was well seasoned and not heavy like other breakfast burritos. I'm excited to try more of their food soon! read more

Before going veggie, the weekend carne asada was a family staple. I remember my Pa saving me a charred piece of carne asada. I remember the crispy, meaty flavor and mouth feel. As I grew, I made positive lifestyle changes. The carne asadas continued, but now incorporated more nopales, elote and other veggie options. Long story to get to this story. After my first bite of the lion's mane mushroom breakfast burrito I was hit with a sudden rush of nostalgia. It wasn't just the crispy, meaty flavor but all the memories and love attached to that sensation and flavor. I was almost moved to tears due to the flavor. But this review isn't just to give props for hitting the "feels" but in all seriousness, there is NO ONE AT RIZE's LEVEL. Fresh ingredients, generous portions and attention to details. The vegan burrito was tightly wrapped and crispy. The lion's mane was chewy, charred and somehow juicy. Pico de gallo and sauce in perfect synchronization with the fluffy "Just Egg." Their English muffin sandwich stands above anything McDonalds can ever make. Their sabanero with their lentil chorizo was the chef's kiss! Customer services, ni se diga! I felt like I've know the chefs all my life. Friendly, courteous and sincere in their attempt to explain what the ingredients were, where they found/bought them and explaining food properties and benefits. I found out about them when they were in Whittier. I followed them to their DTLA location and then to their pop up in the LBC. Stalker-like behaviors I admit, but good food and good people are a rarity. Blessing to them and their food and their business. Do yourself a favor and hit them up! read more

This is my second time trying this spot. I appreciate that this place opens early to serve breakfast and paired with a coffee from Lift really hits the spot. Their breakfast burritos are smaller than typical breakfast burritos from burger joints. However, the fresh salad included with the burrito will leave you nice and full. I'll be back for sure. read more

Eddy catered our event at home for us and everyone (95% non-vegan) was raving about the food. He was intentional about the menu and went above and beyond to feed us. Of course I forgot to take pictures of the food, but believe me, it was a beautiful plate that was not "typical" party food. Absolutely everything about Rize is 10/10 !!! I randomly found my way here searching Yelp/Google for a vegan/vegetarian breakfast burrito. Everyone was so incredibly welcoming and kind. The food was AMAZING, best meal i've had in a long while! So flavorful. Great spot for vegans and non-vegans alike. Look I rarely eat breakfast but when I do I want something reeeally good. I saw this place pop up on Yelp waking distance from my apartment. I was blown away by the food but I also really dug the vibe , super chill diner style but real , healthy quality food. Old school with a new twist in a very authentic real way. This is the best vegan spot locally in Altadena. Everything eddy makes he puts his heart into it and the food comes out amazing. He really knows how to provide great food for my fellow vegan peoples. Customer service is also top tier. You can catch them right in front of ace smoke shop pretty much everyday. Go head and check them out you won't be disappointed. Meet the Business Owner: Eddy G.

I have been in the restaurant industry sense 1998. My passion for food has only grown stronger. We started off in 2019 right before the pandemic we started to offer grab n go items for local coffee shops, eventually that turned into a lunch truck we then out grew the truck and moved into a brick & motor in uptown Whittier. We have now relocated in dtla we offer a craft chef driven menu with heavy vegetarian and Vegan options . We always go over and beyond to exceed our guest’s expectations.

We asked for waters all around and they never brought them to us until I had to remind them 25 minutes into being seated. The food is mediocre, but the presentation is very nice .. if you don't mind bland soggy Chilaquiles then this is your place! Waiter was a little bit arrogant .. the place is run by youngsters so it wasn't shocking that the service wasn't great, when they brought our extremely hot lattes to us, they held it over my two-year-old granddaughter's head, which would have been a scalding nightmare had he dropped it on her. We won't be back

Best for last, mango curd French toast was my favorite! I fell in love with sweetness and tanginess of the mango curd. The French toast was soft and you can taste the butter. I wish it was a main menu item. I'll definitely be sad to see it go. They have lots of seating inside and outside.

I overheard the waitress clearly repeat the order, but the bartender said they were out of soy milk--and admitted the original drink had been made with whole milk. This was extremely concerning. I was served dairy without being informed, which can make me sick. The waitress was apologetic, but this kind of mistake should never happen. Staff should never substitute ingredients--especially allergens--without communicating with the customer first. If I had a dairy allergy rather than intolerance, this could have been a much more serious situation. This felt careless, irresponsible, and unprofessional. Clear communication about ingredients and substitutions is essential in food service.

The food may be fine. But this chef is a jerk. He uses youthful employees and disappears without paying them and has no remorse about it. He was run out of Uptown Whittier and dodged his employees to avoid paying them their owed salaries. Do not support this guy, he is bad news. I'm all for supporting small businesses, but this business owner is a fraud who cons his own employees. Karma will find this guy and his business will die. If you are in business with this "man" get your money up front, do not give this guy any credit. When his business closes, he will hide. read more

Tried this hidden gem Friday and it was amazing!! They have amazing vegan options and non vegan options. They are located in the Arts district. Plenty of seating nice selection of vegan desserts , street parking is not hard to find , and plenty of sitting with large parties of 10 or more .
