Great experience all around. We met with some friends who are vegetarian/vegan and chose this place upon a recommendation and it did not disappoint! I'm a "when in Rome" kind of person so I got the vegetarian buffet as well and it was a great choice. I was in heaven with the flavors and aromas, the different kinds of hummus- from carrot to beetroot to classic.. it was like a vibrant symphonic palate experience all around. The salads and fresh vegetables and herbs/spices were married so well and prepared with love. The warm and friendly service and creative and busy decor made it a night to remember. For about 100 DKK, you'll be getting the following (translated to English for you from their website) Spinach lasagna with spicy tomato sauce and low-fat bechamel Falaffel, say no more! our tzatziki and hummus Beetroot tossed with horseradish and apple vinegrette Nudelsalat with Asian inspiration Freshly boiled penne pasta tossed with herb pesto Potato pizza with rosemary and parmesan like on the terrace in Tuscany Tebouhleh with lots of parsley, tomato and olive oil Green peas tossed with mint Small potatoes tossed with rosemary oil and red onion Okra Cajun Style AND MUCH MUCH MORE ... I love Riz Raz! I've only had their buffet, but I think it's great! It's a vegetarian buffet (I'm not vegetarian, but there are many great options!). I've been here many times with friends, and I think it's the perfect place to go when you're not really sure what you want to eat. They have a huge table & wall filled with different options, which are all super tasty. I especially love their lasagna & falafel. I would have given them 4 stars, except I've had bad customer service here every single time I've been here. It always happens when it's time to pay. I can never get a cashier to come to my table that I have to get up and find one, yet they still don't come to my table until quite sometime. This was the best steak I have ever had! It was so soft and tender. I'm not sure if that's customary overseas but it was so good! There are no side dishes here you must purchase the buffet if you want sides with your meal. The buffet isn't so great. It had some basic items like potatoes, corn and salad. Chances are if you're a vegetarian and you're visiting friends in Copenhagen, this is where you will end up, because let's be honest: this country isn't really known for its vegetarian movement. Carnivores really find it perplexing, this whole vegetarian kick, so you can't fault them for suggesting this place, as they have little frame of reference. I find this place a lazy way out, because by now there are more vegetarian options available in most Danish towns, and this cold buffet leaves me cold. Like most all you can eat buffets, the restaurant piles on the cheap carb dishes and goes easy on dishes involving fresh vegetables which are more expensive and harder to maintain. There are 2 locations, but this one is more scenic. The biggest plus is they have decent beer here, which is rarely a given at a restaurant, even in these days of better local microbrews and more openness to craft imports. In all, you should ask your Danish hosts if you can go to Magasasa or one of the decent Thai places instead. You will be much happier. read more

Restaurant was clean and lots of variety of dishes, but a very meh experience. Many of the dishes lacked flavor. The restaurant staff, while pleasant, seem to have a hard time managing things. And they don't stop people from using their dirty dishes for seconds (instead of instructing them to use clean ones). Not hygenic when the serving utensils touch their dirty plates. Yuck! The steak was a four star, the vegetarian buffet was a 2...... Split the difference and say 3? I had the .250 kilo filet - loosely translated 10 oz. came out medium rare - right on target. Good flavor, what we would call choice back home, not prime. I would guess wet-aged at best or right out of the meat locker at two weeks. The salad bar, was as mentioned before, not a lot of raw vegetables. Mostly veggie and pasta salads. The Caesar salad was 50% croutons. Maybe just the time of night. Not a huge selection. Good regional beer selection on tap. Service was....inefficient? Maybe they thought we had time on our hands? Maybe just inattentive. I was with my 12 yr old vegetarian daughter. All the plates from the salad bar stacked up before they cleared them (almost anywhere else in the world they notice you are away and clear them). When we were done and asked for the check they and disappeared. After 20 minutes I had to ask again. Weak. Listened around to the neighboring tables. Didn't hear a lot of Danish spoken. Keeping it short and sweet - the food here was delicious! Three out of the four of us had the vegan/vegetarian buffet and could not have been happier. There was a wide variety of food at the buffet (3/4 of it vegan; 1/4 of it vegetarian), and we left very satisfied. The cherry on top of this meal was the owner and chef, Mohammad (hopefully I'm spelling this right). My family and I have already decided we'll be back before our trip is over. I was here once before maybe 5 years ago so maybe I remember the buffet being bigger and more impressive. A vegetarian friend had brought me then and I was surprised at the variety and freshness. On this most recent visit it looked much smaller. Here is my breakdown: -Rocket, tomato, and cucumber salad: good and fresh vegetables but it came with some white dressing mixed in. I would much rather have had the dressing on the side, and the salad would last longer anyway. -Kale salad with cherries?: nice! not too chewy, as kale can get. The fruits were a nice touch. -Hummus: good but better with more garlic and tahin. -Tzatziki: ok, but I would prefer more garlic -Falafel: crispy outside! pretty good but maybe some more salt and parsley -Potato salad with yogurt: ok -Pickled beetroot: looked very much like the kind from a jar, with some sesame seeds sprinkled on top as an afterthought. Though the falafel was crispy, there are so many places in Nørrebro that do it better and have great bread to go with it. For the food alone, I would give 2 stars. Maybe you think I am being harsh but I volunteer at a folkekøkken where we make decent vegetarian/vegan food and ask a fraction of the price. However the service was good and the place is kept very tidy, including the bathrooms. Our server was nice enough to give us the lunch price even though we arrived at 3:58pm and ordered at 4pm, right when it changes to dinner service. Although it is only a 10 dkk difference, it was very cool of him. Also they have some hand sanitizer by the buffet and all of the items are clearly labeled gluten-free, vegan, or vegetarian. Went here for dinner last night, expecting more bang for my buck. I had heard that the buffet was about $10, but I must have heard wrong because the dinner price was over 100 kr. That's still pretty cheap for Copenhagen prices, but I would have enjoyed a fresh falafel gyro from a kebab shop for $5 way more. The buffet was small, but the food was decent. I abstained from the falafel because I didnt know how long it had been sitting out (and a summer working at a Mediterranean restaurant spoiled me with made to order falafel). The salads all had similar flavors, which were good but not unique. All in all I was underwhelmed. I would have given Riz Raz three stars if not for the bathrooms, which sorely needed attention. First the service was nice but really slow and we started to wonder if we would get any help even though they seated us. The drinks were watery and took a long time for such basic drinks (dark'n'stormy isn't rocket science). They got the order wrong. The béarnaise was sour and just tasted of tarragon. The beer that we ordered after the drinks was equally slow and they didn't have any of the simple lager or Pilsner (in Denmark? Come on!). The veggie burger was ok, the chimichurri was not your traditional sauce but still tasty. The cockerel was a good idea with poor execution. Very poor. And who messes up sweet mash?
