The service was good and the server (who was running a one woman show) was very patient and pleasant. The one thing that I noticed that was bizarre is that they charge for tap water. We got butter chicken based on the server's recommendation with rice and garlic naan. The food came out fairly quickly. The butter chicken was flavorful, but a little sweet (as expected). We did ask for it to be spicy, but the sauce was not spicy at all. So if you like spicy, make sure you emphasize that you want it to be extra spicy. The server brought a chili sauce to elevate the spice level, which did the trick. The naan was alright. Though it was soft, it lacked the strong garlic flavor that we are used to of. Overall good.

For main, we decided to split two entrees which worked out perfect. Lamb Dosa and Shrimp Masala. Both dishes were excellent! We also ordered a Chapathi which was one of those sides that you can't get enough of & was a perfect compliment to the Masala. We got extremely lucky when we were in Florence and Barcelona and Prague and obviously very disappointed that we got microwaved and frozen food in Rome and Budapest. But that didn't deter us from trying this one in Copenhagen. The night didn't start well as it was raining and we had to wait for 30 minutes to catch a bus which was very unusual as public transport is extremely prompt in all of Europe. But once we got to the restaurant it was all worth the effort. The Sahil restaurant is located a few minutes from the Nyhaven area of Copenhagen. From my research I knew that this was the oldest Pakistani restaurant in Copenhagen. The decor was pretty unique as we entered the restaurant and even though they were pretty busy for a Wednesday night and we didn't have a reservation they had one empty four top that we were seated at. The server came immediately to take the order. We inquired where the cook was from and were told that he was from Punjab which was good to hear as they are usually the best cooks from that region. The server also informed us that all the meat was boneless which is my usual preference to begin with. We ordered the samosa and seekh kebab appetizer to start and got the chicken karahi with two naans for dinner. The food was delicious and extremely well cooked. The server thought we had double the appetite and they actually brought out 2 orders of the chicken karahi, one of which we had to send back as it was too much food. But the food was awesome and I have to put this Pakistani restaurant as most probably the best Pakistani food I have had in Europe. Amazingly the service was excellent too which is usually the only negative thing that you experience in a Pakistani restaurant. 5 stars all the way. To start the evening, I got an Indian Summer Bourbon (75 dkk) which was nicely heavy on the bourbon but wasn't that great even though there was supposed to be Limoncello in it. I was surprised that it came with pink fish as I assumed most fish used in Indian cuisine has white flesh. I guess the restaurant is just working with what they can get here. It came with rice and I ate the whole thing. I also got a bite of Maria G.'s Lamb Sukka Varuval Fry (139 dkk) which had great texture and taste. Normally I don't get dessert but I love Gulab Jamun (55 dkk) so I had to give theirs a try. It was so delicious but also very hot, so be careful! Maria kindly let me have some of her pistachio Kulfi (49 dkk) to cool my mouth and I almost regretted not getting that instead. I love pistachio ice cream and this was no exception! It was a little hard to hear my tablemates in there but I could definitely hear the party behind me. And although the waiter was nice, he forgot about us a couple times as the place was filling up. We asked him for some more fried chilies (which were incredibly salty on their own but seasoned our dishes well) and had to wave him down again once our food was half-eaten. But this is nothing that would keep me from coming back again for great food at a very decent price.
