My banh mi. This one's for the cilantro fans.
    Matthew F.

Recommended for street food enthusiasts. (Street foodies?) On our visit, I enjoyed a lemon chicken banh mi while my wife had a vermicelli bowl with chicken. Both were very fresh & flavorful, and portions were generous. The spice levels on both will creep up on you a bit, but nothing over the top. Traveler Tip: Great choice for lunch before Amalienborg Palace, Frederiks Kirke, Designmuseum and/or Kastellet. You won't be hungry before dinner.

Cute little atmosphere and beautiful presentation of food. It was a different experience, you either stand at the register to order or you can sit and then come back up to place your order. If you need anything extra you have to get up from your table and ask for it. I didn't see a single Asian person in the kitchen. My pho lacked any traditional base and when I asked for some fish sauce, I was given a dipping sauce for egg rolls. My husband ordered the spicy beef soup that came with bread and the bread was the best part of the meal. It appears that they used the same broth, but added more pepper flakes for spice. I understand that this is probably great for first-timers or if you're not familiar with what and how true authentic pho should be. As for my personal experiences, I would stick with the baguettes here.

We came here for a quick lunch after I browsed thru Yelp in current Location mode. The place is decorated very simple and cute. The menu is short and sweet, straight to the point. We took a sandwich and 2 vermicelli bowls, beef & chicken and they were quite delicious with very fresh ingredients. I definitely recommend this place for lunch

This was a pretty good spot to grab dinner on a cold evening in Copenhagen. I had the beef stew & my sister had the pho. Both dishes were quite tasty, though I preferred the stew. (I've had better pho in the states/elsewhere, but that's not too surprising...) The beef stew was very hearty and came with a very large piece of bread for dipping! It was a perfect dish to warm up from the cold. We also shared the egg rolls which were actually quite good. The service was quick and friendly. The interior is dimly lit & warm with a laid-back feel. Seemed like a place locals frequent, which is always a good sign. If you're in the mood for comfort food in CPH, District Tonkin is a solid choice! [90/100]

This is the actual Banh Mi cafe instead of the Concept shop (I think). Tucked away in the basement floor, a really short walk from Amalienborg. I came here without much expectations and was pleasantly surprised! The traditional banh mi sandwich, beef stew, and Vietnamese coffee all tasted quite authentic. Not the best Ive ever had but hit the right spots. The baguettes were fresh and crunchy. Serving portion was perfectly filling. Atmosphere was really casual and warm with modern house mixes playing in the background. There are not too many tables, maybe can accommodate up to 30 customers? If I lived here, I would def come back again :)

In the back: Lemonade and Bun Nam Bo with chicken. In the front: Banh Mi with beef and an iced coffee.

Wow! Just wow! Thats how I'll start off this review. I had heard so many people talking about District Tonkin and how amazing it was that I had to go and see what everyone was talking about. I was definitely not disappointed! I ordered the Banh Mi with beef with an iced coffee and my boyfriend ordered the Bun Nam Bo with chicken with a lemonade. The very first bite of the sandwich (banh mi) was seriously so unbelievably good! So many flavors hit you all at once, and it's basically just a party in your mouth. The beef is so tasty and has the perfect marinade on it. It's all so fresh tasting with the different veggies & cilantro on top that it's (in my opinion) the perfect lunch. The Bun Nam Bo was equally as amazing. The warm noodles & chicken mixed with all the cold veggies and all the flavors is pure heaven. I can't decide which one I liked better. They are both just pure perfection and if you're reading this debating on if you should go try it, don't hesitate and go try it! Either of the two food options are a great option to choose. The lemonade was really refreshing as well, the iced coffee wasn't my favorite however but the place still gets 5 stars, because.. Yum!

Delicious, fresh Vietnamese food - as close to Vietnam as you can get in Copenhagen! The Traditional Bahn Mi sandwich was tasty and an impressive size. Definitely a good sized lunch. I had forgotten how Vietnamese filter coffee is traditionally served until it arrived in front of me, complete with delicate aluminium top-of-cup filter already trickling down onto a small layer of condensed milk. The filter cup was a little full, but that just gave me an excuse to drink some coffee quickly - not a bad thing for me! The restaurant itself was not huge, but there was plenty of room for a lunch crowd. Clean and cozy with nice decorations, and very friendly staff.

SO SO SO SO GOOD !!!!!! One of our best meals while in Copenhagen! We came here twice during our trip. Worth every penny (or DKK lol)

Fairly good. Ordered the lemongrass chicken banh mi and Nem rolls. The Pho unfortunately is only served for dinner. Will have to come back and give it try.

Omelet banh mi and vietnamese lemonade

Nice and quiet place with chill music, we really enjoyed our meal there. We took 2 banh mis and they were tasty, spicy and crispy as you would expect traditional vietnamese sandwiches to be. Each ingredient has its own flavour and makes the sandwich delicious. For the spicy lovers, you can find sriracha sauce on every table. If you're thirsty, try the vietnamese lemonade. Prices are correct, to me it's good quality food!

    Menu shot

I am glad that I ate my first Bahn mi sandwich (Vietnam sandwiches) here. A small menu card is always a good sign. There were only eight dishes on the menu (apart from deserts and drinks), so it was pretty easy to choose one from the list. I haven't had many protein meals lately, so I decided to get the grilled beef menu. I knew from the beginning that my mouth would suffer if I ate the baguette (Although it was warm and quite crispy \(^ ^)/). The sandwich was good. An excellent beef cut, not chewy (no sinew). I like the combination of long and slim cuts of the fresh cilantro, leeks, green onions, cucumbers, chilies (although not the Jalapenos), as well as the pickled carrots. A unique taste, but it works. Their Tonkin sauce was also good. I didn't realize it was there until I was half way down my baguette, and then it started to drip. The sauce was sweet and sour, unlike the typical spring roll sweet and sour red sauce; this was not as thick, and it was mixed with oil too. The heat was perfect (which I wouldn't have expected). If you are not that good with spicy sauce, then order some warm tea (which was also nice). It should help calmed your tongue ^^. I didn't order the Vietnamese coffee because I know I'll get a bloated stomach :( But you should try it. You use a small coffee pot that is called a Vietnamese filter. It looks like a hat and sits on top of a coffee cup. Inside is a chamber for coffee and room for hot water. It is very basic and simple. The white liquid at the bottom of a coffee cup is the condensed milk. I didn't take a picture. But it is an easy find on Google. A little tip for beginners: Tuck in everything into the baguette, and squeeze some Sriracha sauce before you eat the sandwich.
