So sad to leave this negative review. Food was fantastic, beer wall was fun, SERVICE was really good during dinner. Recieved our tab via an IPad which resulted a processing error. When the bill arrived, I reviewed the screen and the 20% tip was pre-chosen. While I thought it was a little strange, I actually thought our server did BETTER than 20% so I gave a custom tip just above 20%. After leaving and walking a few blocks, we heard a man yelling and turned around to see our server. He was verbally accosting us blocks from the restaurant for NOT leaving a tip. Startled, I went back and was met by an agitated server demanding a tip. Confused, I went with him and fixed the error, but this was embarrassing not truly my fault. I was made to feel like a criminal. The iPad was impersonal and confusing because the tip did not stick. The establishment needs to DO BETER for both their customers and their employees. The iPad was a problem and the lengths this server had to go through for a living wage was unacceptable. read more

There are a ton of traditional beer options in Phoenixville, but if none of those work for you I'm sure something here will. They have a GIANT selection along with the novelty of pour-your-own taps. They have designed it well. The staff give you an introduction, there are digital screens for each beer with explanations, and they even provide flight paddles and taster glasses. The hummus plate was excellent. This is a really nice place and the staff is warm. I would probably choose other breweries in the area because I prefer not having to pour my own, but otherwise it's a really lovely spot. read more

What a gem amidst a myriad of great food/drink options in Phoenixville! Rivertown Taps is known for their pour-your-own tap wall (including wine and cider!) but boasts great cocktails and liquor options as well for guests that don't love beer. In addition to high quality drinks, Rivertown has an EXCELLENT food menu! We had the hot honey duck wings, the prickleback burger, the chicken sandwich, the mortadella burger, and the bucatini carbonara. Dishes were hot, fresh, beautifully presented, and delicious. You can even order a pickleback shot as an add-on for the pickleback burger. Service was also excellent. This place is deceptive when it calls itself at tap house. We came here for lunch and the food was phenomenal. We had the duck wings to start as well as the kimchi grilled cheese and a mortadella burger and everything was normal. Add to the fact that you can tap in and try a variety of beers and enjoy the weather and atmosphere, truly phenomenal. This place has a Chef's Counter where you can watch the food being prepared. It's very cool. We had the duck wings (which came highly recommended), Everything Fries, and the Talk A-krout burger. In a town filled with great beer, I'll typically choose other places besides RT. The selection is great, but paying $$$ for a beer just isn't my thing. I enjoy the fact you can sample a few beers without ordering a full beer, but if there is something I want to enjoy at a full pour, the pricing can be outrageous. Over $1/oz. for any beer just doesn't sit well for me. I am the one pouring the beer, so why such a mark-up? I do like the selection of glassware if small pours are your thing. The food is pretty solid, but also a bit higher priced than I like to see for what you get. Service has been solid most of my visits, but they don't have to do much here, so they shouldn't be stretched too thin. read more

I came here with coworkers for a happy hour. I love the variety of drinks. Their cocktails are really good and they have a self pour wall with beer, cider, and other drinks. The drinks are good, but the food is the biggest reason I'll keep coming back. Over a few visits, I've tried: - Mexican Street Curds - Hot Honey Duck Wings - Kimchi Grilled Cheese - Harvest Grilled Cheese - Donuts Everything I've had has been fantastic. The Mexican Street Curds are my must try dish every time I go. They rotate the menu, so I hope they don't take them off. This is probably my favorite restaurant in the area. Best burger ever!!!! I got the pickleback burger with the shot (so fun) - it was DELICIOUS. I didn't do the tap beer, not my thing. I like a classic coars light lol. However, there was 3 of us at the bar. I've loved being able to watch them cook the food. Also, everything smelt delicious. Someone next to us got the wings and I was so tempted to get some as well. This is Phoenixville's hidden gem. Literally. I am always unsure which door opens to this narrow shotgun floor plan. It has a great vibe and thoughtful design. There's a small dining area a bar and a open kitchen with more tables in the back. My first visit was for a Veg out diner, a monthly occurrence in Phoenixville. Was totally enthralled with the purple watercress. Tonight my partner joined me ringside at the kitchen. The menu is creative, vegetable forward and has something for everybody. Started with the burrata and squash app. We both totally enjoyed it (partner is finally venturing into new cheeses). He had a burger and was very happy with it. I had the beet salad which included the purple cress, so i was in heaven. For me the best part was watching my food being prepared. He was fascinated by the tap bar lining the opposite side of the room. Twenty or more beers, ciders and wines are available self serve. A variety of glassware is available. Using a card they provide pour as much as you want. A digital display shows volume and price. Staff will walk you through it patiently. My tech phone took to it like a duck to water. With a whole wall to pour your own beer, no waiting for a bartender to get to it. It's an awesome experience and concept! First-The location is on bridge street. Parking can be a pain, but the walks are worth it. Especially when this place is your destination. It's a nice place. Decent amount of sitting? With a small bar section and an open kitchen counter as well, which is awesome because you watch them make the food right in front of you. Good amount of TVs and good music as well. Second-The food! I only tried appetizers and I was really impressed! I started off with the lager Buffalo wings and truthfully. Probably top 5 best wings I've eaten in Phoenixville. They were delicious and can't wait for other flavors. But the most delicious thing I had was the bacon lollipops. Omg they were phenomenal! I highly recommend trying them. By chance, we dined here two nights in a row. This worked out in our favor as their were many things we wanted to try. Both nights we had reservations. Highly recommend making one. All our eats on both nights overall were delicious. Over our two dining experiences we enjoyed the following... Phoenixville "Nashville Style" Hot Chicken & Waffles Espresso Rubbed Braised Buffalo Short Ribs Crispy Nashville Hot Pickle Chips Angry Hog Burger Four Flavor Foccacia with Burrata Heavenly Chocolate Pot de Crème Out of all the above the only thing I was not a fan of was the dessert. Something extra butter in there that I just did not enjoy. Our dinner mates both night also really enjoyed their eats. Birria Quesadilla, Mussles in Curry Sauce, Grilled Octopus and Autumn Grilled Cheese. Their tap wall has excellent variety. Loved the many cider options and the kombucha was great! Service on both nights was fine. Food kind of took a while both nights (Saturday especially) and on night two (Sunday) our table appetizers finally arrived after our main entrees. Rivertown Tap is quite different. The wall of beer taps is unique and a nice selection. My disappointment was with the french onion burger. While the burger itself was very good and cooked to order, the meager serving of fries was a disappointment. For $17. bucks, either fill the rest of the plate with fries or serve a cup of slaw and a pickle. Service was prompt and friendly. read more

Disappointed that during the holidays (thanksgiving being yesterday) my brother and I brought our cousin who is 25 from New Jersey. We walked in politely asked if any seats at the bar was available was told to check and we found a seat and my brother and I decided to stand right next to him at the bar every patron seemed to be totally fine with this, man at the front desk immediately comes over snatched the seat out from underneath my cousin and told us to leave because during this time they don't serve out of state IDs kind of crazy considering my wife and I have lived in phoenixville been to every bar in this area ten fold, never have given us any issues with "out of state id's" honestly appalled by this behavior.
