10/3/20 Fox patrol.

10/3/20 We were initially going to go to "Tuned Up" in Spring City but they were closed. We were on our way to Highland Farms and my son thought this would be a quick place to get a bite. It was on the way of our destination. There were some tables outside but we opted to sit inside. The menu has some interesting foods and some smaller items to choose from as well as sandwiches etc. We ordered the soft pretzel appetizer and it was hot and delicious. It came with spicy honey mustard. I really enjoyed it! I ordered a small crustini that had spinach cheese and bacon- that was delicious. I had two beef tacos too that I really enjoyed. My son and his girlfriend ordered this blt avocado sandwich. It was stacked with bacon maybe equivalent to a whole pig (ha ha ha) well not quite that much but very generous. The host was friendly. Our server was friendly and pleasant too. I would definitely go back in a heartbeat!

Great location. Plenty of parking and good beer. Food was absolutely delicious too with plenty of options. Great staff that was able to tolerate a group of 30 with adults and teenage lacrosse players. Quick and accurate. Love the style of seat yourself and order at the bar.

We arrived to find the place maybe half full, not very busy though. The hostess was nowhere to be found and we had to be finally seated by the bartender. After sitting for a bit someone came for our drinks, while waiting for them another server came over to help us. After 3 min we were asked to order and after asking for more time our waitress disappeared for 20 min at least. After finally ordering our appetizers came out at the same time as all our meals. My boardwalk gyro was good, however my girlfriend ordered a cheese steak that was dry as anything. It was two pieces of cheese melted on a roll with some steak thrown on top. Overall the food isn't bad for a sports bar kind of place but the service was awful! We got the very least of it but there were people sitting for 20 min before anyone came over to them and then for another 10 min waiting for drinks. There is no organization to who's tables are who's or what orders go where. Whole we were there multiple meals came over to our table and we had to inform the server we didn't order that. Based on the service alone I wouldn't recommend this place and would most likely not come back. The Pottstown slyfox was much better.

This may be my #1 Cheesesteak for 2019. Shaved prime rib. Shaved prime rib. This is a cheesesteak aficionados cheesesteak, roll, meat & cheese. This is a Brewhouse aficionados cheesesteak, $6 24 oz draft. This is a Sunday afternoon watching Da Birds aficionados cheesesteak, many TVs in a big bar area. This is a after sitting on the kids soccer field sidelines aficionados cheesesteak, big menu - sidebar please let me know if the whole soccer team is coming so I can go somewhere else. Sesame seed roll, provolone cheese, sliced roast beef. $16, it did come with french fries and they had a 24 oz draft for $6 on the menu and it was amazing so I'm really torn about the $16. Overall great experience. PS Carole asks for well done french fries.

I have been wanting to visit this place for a long time. I have to say the beer was excellent ! It was a nice , average strip mall interior. Not enough televisions , only in one side of the bar. I will say that I would never eat here. To be fair I won't eat at many brew pubs , places where they brew their own beer. In my way to the men's room you can look in to the kitchen and it wasn't impressive. Then the main back door entrance was really bad , dirty and smelly. I assume this is where they receive their deliveries and it looked like a loading dock. I was super impressed with the cleanliness of the men's room , it was spotless and I was not expecting it to be so clean. I would say it was much cleaner then the kitchen . I would go back for the beer !

Only had beers. We've eaten here before and it's good! Service is always good. I had the Oktoberfest and my husband had the saison. I'd definitely recommend it! Just wish they would bring back Incubus, it was DELICIOUS!

If you haven't been there, the Phoenixville Sly Fox IS a sly fox. My friend's GPS sent her in a wonky direction, and I passed it on my first go-around. Hint: look for the STS, and turn into its (huge) parking lot. It was Thursday, so our party of nine was seated without issue. This casual venue is well-lit, with TVs so one can watch the game du jour. Brewery vats are visible behind the bar - speaking of that, I hear the beer is worth trying. (Didn't try any, but my friends enjoyed their brews.) Hanging Penn State towels and posters were a nice touch, and atop the beams and on the walls, were foxes - taxidermy, much? We shared a plate of the Sly Fox pub wings ($7.99), cooked Jamaican Jerk style (remind me to try the honey mustard wings next time). The wings were somewhat scrawny, but a container of Mount Saint Helens sauce (75 cents extra) took them up a notch - FYI, the sauce is a decent habanero and jalapeno combo sauce with carrot slices. I dove into my grilled chicken and sausage penne ($8.99; that's for a lighter portion, which is really big), and it was surprisingly good. Don't remember the chicken, but the sausage was delish. Chorizo, onions, peppers, fresh Mozzarella, marinara sauce - YUM! Did I mention that I asked our server (Chris) to bring over more Mount Saint Helens sauce to mix in? Check out the Sly Fox for yourself.

I heart brewpubs! Made it a point to stop here during our excursion out to Phoenixville. I was actually surprised it was located with a strip mall. We sat outside to enjoy the beautiful weather! I'm glad we did because honestly the inside of the building looked pretty dumpy and to get to the restrooms, you had to pass through part of the kitchen. Let's see if I can remember all the beers I tried in my flight - Abbey, Grand Cru, Lager, Rauch, Weisse, and Saison. My favorite was the Saison, then the Abbey. The Rauch was really interesting with its noticeable smokey flavor! The Cru and Weisse were good too, I wasn't a fan of the Lager. It was just... a lager, lol. The beers were very refreshing and a great way to enjoy our Saturday! For food, we got some chips for the table (that bucket was tiny) and I got the pretzel burger which was very yummy, I always love pretzel rolls! Service was meh but it was due to the fact that they had an entire banquet room filled with a party and another 20-top table in addition to that. Didn't seem like they had enough servers on to cover the large parties. Our server was obviously struggling, but we knew it really wasn't her fault. My friend and I had ordered sweet potato fries but got regular fries instead. We didn't want to bother getting them changed out due to how busy it was, as long as we weren't charged for the fries we didn't get (and we weren't, so they just weren't ever rung in). Took forever to pay because our server kept disappearing - again, due to the massive parties inside. Our server was very nice and friendly, we really enjoyed her. Just not enough staff to handle the large parties.

I stopped here the other day with my husband for lunch. The place was near empty so we were expecting a super quick meal.... it was over an hour. My husband ordered a turkey club and I got the chicken gyro. The gyro was ok - kind of bland, the tzatziki didn't really taste like anything and I would have preferred some more vegetables.... is that too picky? I had a few of his fries... they were AMAZING! Worth going back for.

Our waitress was kind, attentive, and very professional. We each started with a small cup of the lobster bisque and shared the crab cakes. Both were outstanding, and the crab cake was especially memorable since it wasn't your typical style--really well done. For entrées, my boyfriend had the lamb chops and I ordered the seared sea scallops. The lamb chops were easily a 10/10! The scallops were cooked perfectly, though I personally felt the pumpkin risotto could have used more seasoning. I really wanted to try dessert but I was completely stuffed. Our waitress still insisted on bringing a complimentary scoop of ice cream, which was rich, delicious, and such a thoughtful touch. Overall, a wonderful meal and experience. I'm already looking forward to coming back!

There was a large crowd of diners when my wife and l along with my friend arrived. They are BYOB so we brought a bottle of wine with us. My wife ordered a California cheeseburger which was huge and came with French fries & pickles. I ordered their chicken croquettes with mashed potatoes and gravy. Everything was made in house and was delicious! My friend ordered their chicken croquettes same entree. The bread and rolls they brought to our table were also homemade and delicious. We also found out every dessert they serve is homemade as well. The entrees also came with a fresh salad and a vegetable of your choice. What a great meal! When the check came the total bill came to $43. Unbelievable. But it gets better. They offer a ten percent discount to veterans and police officers. We now have found a place that serves and prepares good food at an unbelievable price. The waitstaff served our food promptly and they were pleasant. We will be back. Folks, give this restaurant a try.

Our server, Lily, did not…read moreinform us that hashbrowns were actually hash brown patties, and the home fries looked much better on my dining partner's plate. They brought me out some of those instead, as I am not a fan of patties that make me look like I'm eating at McDonald's, but the home fries were quite oily. We were there a very long time before our order was taken, and then to receive our meal. They seem to be understaffed, so our server seemed overwhelmed. It was hard to get coffee refills, which is one of my pet peeves when I go out to breakfast, as I like coffee very hot, so refilled frequently. I also requested my English muffin dry, but it came out loaded with butter. Be forewarned that they don't warn you about up charges when telling you what item choices come with the meal. Would I have minded paying extra for things like an English muffin or multigrain bread? No. But I do expect to be told ahead of time. (They charge extra for multigrain bread???) The owner removed it from the bill when questioned, but she was not pleasant about it. She tried to argue certain things and say she knows the server told us, despite her not being there when we ordered. This is not a good way to win over a new customer who had not been there before and doesn't know anything about your place. There are a lot of very good breakfast places in the area, and I go out to breakfast frequently (as you can tell from my many breakfast reviews). It's doubtful I will return again as I did not find the place friendly. The Collegeville Diner is much closer to me if I want a diner, and there are so many other places where the service is very friendly and quick. This is not one of them. The owner did make adjustments to the bill, but was not nice about it. (They seem to make a big deal about using Dave's Killer Multigrain bread, see owner's response to this review, which I've never had and don't care about. Who tells you that multigrain is one of the choices and then charges you more after the fact because you chose it?) You can go to Nook & Kranny and get fresh baked bread from local LeBus bakery without any extra charge. For my dining partner, it was her second time here and she had a negative experience the first time, where service was also slow and her food arrived cold. The only reason we gave it a try was that she said it was very busy at the time, so our logic was that it must be pretty good if it was that packed. It was not packed this time and service was still not great and the food was not good enough to offset the service. We have no desire to give it a third chance.
