I came across their listing for a 2009 Acura MDX, and reached out to Brian, the manager at the Bangor location, as I know him from church. I could not have asked for better car buying experience. In working with Brian and Rusty, I was able to take the car for an extended test drive to see how would work for my family. I was also able to take it to my preferred mechanic to get it thoroughly checked over without getting any hassle like you may get from other dealerships. The trade-in value that I was offered was excellent, and the final price I paid for the vehicle was more than fair given the superb condition of the SUV. Throughout the entire process, everyone was open and honest about all aspects of the deal. All in all, I would highly recommend Right Way Auto if looking for a high-quality pre-owned vehicle. I was skeptical at first because I live in Augusta and thought I would have to eventually visit the dealership. Boy was I wrong. Once we decided on a vehicle - it was brought to home in Augusta for a test drive and then the finance application was done on-line and all paperwork was delivered with the car once we agreed on the price and delivery date. What an awesome experience! We bought the 2016 Buick Enclave and are overjoyed.

    I had an extremely disappointing experience while shopping at Hampden Auto Center. My sales person…read morewas either extremely unknowledgeable, or equally misleading regarding the features, trim level and overall value of the vehicle I was considering. After conflicting feedback from the auto center and my bank, and I had to perform my own research on the VIN number and the vehicle's optional trim levels and features in order to learn and explain the differences and resulting discrepancy in value of what the vehicle actually was and what they claimed it to be. Under any other circumstance I wouldn't have minded a little research on such a large purchase, but when met with my sales person's obstinance to acknowledge the facts, the experience was far from enjoyable. In addition to his misinformation, the sales person's lack of preparedness and initiative resulted in prolonging an interaction that should have only lasted an evening to the course of three. This meant wasting time taken from work and my personal life. Our interaction was finally ended when our sales person neglected to follow up with me as promised, neglecting to leave as little as a voicemail to keep me informed. I light of the $2000 overstatement of NADA value in the vehicle, I had asked for a reconsideration of our previously agreed price. Upon returning to the lot to ask for an update and a reason why I wasn't contacted, I was told they were unwilling to negotiate the price, that they would be holding onto the vehicle to try to get their asking price and that I wasn't contacted because their phone calls would only go straight to my voice mailbox. It certainly doesn't take much effort to leave a voicemail, and is unnecessary to dismiss a friendly, willing customer from a sale for no good reason. Hampden Auto Center is run and operated by misleading, unknowledgeable and disrespectful people. They will certainly never have my business, and I will urge everyone I know to avoid them at all costs.

    It all comes down to which Salesperson you get. I did have 3 pleasant Honda buying experiences…read more Nowhere near Fantastic... but also not bad at all. This time I was given a Brian Perry. He lied 6 x and over stupid stuff I could google. He was the cliche: We certainly wouldn't want Your car. The Car you want will be a Huge Hassle to get, but we will sacrifice & get it for you. The amount you intend to pay? Oh, it will be Thousands more, Did I know because of fear of Tarriffs Portland is adding $3k above MSRP? Blue, oh Blue is Very hard to find. (3 Clicks to find 6 of them). Maine has maybe 3 Honda CRV's left! OMG, LOL Googled tons. "You LEGALLY must listen to the garbage hard sell products the Finance Manager will pitch! BS LOL Paint protection is a scam by the way. A Manger named Trey apologized. Youtube has hundreds of short clips on what to do and know. Because the Brian's of the World exist I urge you to just spend an hour getting pre-approved with a bank, do not fall for the garbage and 100% be happy to Walk Away. Dealers are everywhere. It will fall to you to know what you want and what you are willing to accept. If you were Wealthy you wouldn't be reading this. You worked hard for your money, don't get scammed. Buyer beware. It is absolutely possible for the Salesman to make a fair cut AND for you at the same time to get a fair deal. These men spend all day, every day for years learning how to extract every possible penny out of you. Snakes will always be Snakes, but you do not have to be a victim. Use your phone. Browse online. Have a Plan B. Stick to what is right for your finances. Honda will be just dandy no matter what.
