While mistakes happen, a good owner that will correct the mistakes is priceless! THAT is good business! As a current deisel owner, having a local repair shop that can be trusted for any future needs is immensely valuable to me. I will update further after I get the truck back. I am thrilled to have a running truck soon! Thank you, Jeremy! In my opinion, Neff's services were costly, inaccurate and took to long. I bought a 2018 Ram 1500 Big Horn EcoDiesel with a 30-day warranty in Las Vegas and drove it home to Elko. The truck started to experience coolant loss and overheating during the drive home, showing the tell-tell signs of a cracked EGR Cooler as there was zero visible leaks. The dealership directed me to take the truck to Neff's instead of trying to get the truck back to Las Vegas. About a week later, Neff's submitted a repair order to the dealership for a coolant system flush and heater core back flush which the dealership paid Neff's to be completed. This along with a license plate light install came to $1,360. Unfortunately, I was left out of these "repair" details. The next day after picking up the truck, thinking it was repaired, it was still experiencing the same coolant loss and I took the truck back into Neff's that day. It took Neff's over 2 more additional weeks to diagnosis the EGR Cooler failure bringing us to the very end of the 30-day warranty. Since the dealership had already paid Neff's for a "repair" the dealership is no longer willing to cover any further repairs. While most of my dilemma is from the dealership not honoring their warranty, Neff's significantly added to the dilemma by initially misdiagnosing the issue (Neff's tech admitted that verbally over the phone to me) and taking so long to correctly diagnosis the issue. The quote from Neff's for EGR Cooler replacement is also about $1,000 more than Elko Motors (the Ram Dealership) quoted. Thought that might be valuable information as well. Perhaps, if Neff's had accurately diagnosed the EGR Cooler failure initially and in less time than 3 weeks, my unfortunate circumstance might have had a better outcome. What makes me most upset is how common and known the EGR Cooler issue is with this specific truck and how long it took Neff's to diagnose it. Oh yeah, Neff's also tried to charge me for a second diagnostic charge when I picked up the truck.

Most people I talked to in Elko had negative things to say about this shop, but I was stranded and felt I had no options. When I finally got my truck back I had made it to Salt Lake and found that the inner rear tire was flat. The valve stem was broken off??? It could have had deadly results. Run, do not walk from this despicable business! About the review... they asked me not to post a review. One str is one too many!

I rarely write up reviews online but feel it's necessary here....My adult son was on a travel job…read morein Elko for a few weeks and needed repairs on his truck before he drove several states home, including replacement of a wheel bearing and CV axle. Clack was recommended, seemed reputable, and was listed as a preferred AAA vendor. Alhough my son was pretty sure he knew what was wrong, Clack ran diagnostics - which I understand. My son told them he'd get his paycheck at the end of the week and would have me call to front the cost of repairs. John told me cost estimates over the phone. I asked him to send me a written estimate and gave him my email address. I also paid for the diagnostic ($95). A few days later, I hadn't received the written estimate. When I called John, he insisted he had sent it. I double-checked and confirmed they definitely had not sent it. So he finally sent the estimate by email ($1,640). I also advised him that when the repairs are done we might put some or all of the charge on my son's card if he was paid by then. I was quite astonished when John then insisted they needed full payment up front for the entire work - before they did any repairs at all! When I asked him why, he basically said they've had problems in the past when a vehicle owner didn't pay after work was done, with the vehicle ending up sitting there for months. I said I wasn't comfortable paying for work that wasn't even started yet. John curtly replied, "you obviously don't know the industry." I told him I've had car repairs done for several decades and never, EVER had been asked to pay for repairs - let alone the entire cost of repair - before any work was done. But still, I offered to pay up front for the parts to start the work, or a deposit. But he insisted no work would be done without full payment up front. Needless to say, not a good sign. So I spent time out of my busy day researching other shops in Elko, since my son needed to come home. Fortunately, I came across His & Hers Automotive, right near Clack. The gal was very nice but said they couldn't get to the repairs until the next week. I asked her about other shops and she told me they sometimes send their overflow work - as well as their own personal cars - to Caveman Tires & Wheels for uncomplicated repairs like what we had here. Then I called Caveman and spoke with Jose. He said they can probably do the repairs the very next day. He seemed very accommodating and I had a good feeling about it. Then he gave me an estimate that was only slightly more than half of the cost that Clack demanded up front. My son was skeptical at first, saying he heard Clack was the place to go in town. But it turned out Caveman did the work for the quoted price, and my son got to leave Elko that next day, driving 20 hours home. So, I can't speak to the quality of work by Clack - let's assume it's fine. But why would a customer pay a lot more than necessary, plus risk paying entirely up front before knowing the repair work was done properly? Oh, and despite asking several times, I never got a copy of the diagnostic/inspection report! (If they end up sending it, I'll update my review.) Finally, I saw one other review for Clack from several years ago, from a woman whose story seemed a bit extreme but, interestingly, some key points rang true - as John also told her she'd have to "pay the full bill in advance" and apparently Clack "did not trust me to pay the bill." Seems like a pattern here that's continued for years?!

A week before, I had new wheels and tires installed (at a different shop) and so I figured the vibration was wheel related. Hoping to resolve this issue before we started our second leg, I looked around for a tire shop. Of a few tire shops in Elko, NV, Purcell opened the earliest and had the best reviews. I got there right when they opened. I was cheerfully greeted by a very knowledgeable associate who listed carefully to my description of the vibration and asked good follow-up questions to try and pin-point what the issue could be. I have a background in automotive so I'm used to the troubleshooting process. But I have no hands-on experience with tire work so I knew an expert would be needed. Prior to visiting the shop, I though the absence of stick-on wheel weights on the front left tire indicated the weights had somehow flown off. With this information relayed to the tech, they started with that wheel. After about 10 minutes, the associate told me the tech determined that wheel actually needed no weights (rare, but it does happen). She told me they'd check the right front wheel and sure enough--that wheel had gone out of balance. I figured this was the "smoking gun" and so I declined to have the other wheels checked and left. Once I got up to speed, the vibration was still there yet it was different. I went back a few hours later and described the issue. They had a look at the two rear tires and they were also out of balance! All told between my two visits that day, it only took about 30 min to have all four tires removed, checked, balanced, and remounted. Fast! We continued on with our hundred+ mile journey without further issue or vibration. Whew! There's no doubt in my mind that if I had chosen to have Purcell look at all four tires the first visit--I wouldn't have needed the second visit. It was a great learning experience and if I'm ever in Elko again, I wouldn't hesitate to take my vehicle there again!

Well they get the car done in four days, paid for a rental for time to finish the car and then called me to come get it. 8 weeks down the road the car is no longer accelerating as it should. I took it into another car dealership for a second opinion..well upon checking the transmission fluid the mechanic said it was extremely overfilled which can destroy the transmission and cause complete engine failure. And the fluid was black. The mechanic does not believe it was flushed properly or a new transmission was put in..they stopped work and suggested I take it back to ford. Once again Casey Gallagher, Casey the service manager, neither where available. They booked an appointment for the following Tuesday. I called Casey to let him know I was bringing it in and he informed me that even though the warranty was solely through ford, he refused to service my car. That right there tells me he knows he didn't do things right and failed to take responsibility for the poor work they did do. I contacted Ford and made a complaint and will continue until my car gets the work I paid for. Would not recommend this Ford car dealership to anyone... Horrible experience.
