Went in for transmission issues. Prompt friendly professional and reasonably priced. Highly recommend and will go back.

What should have been a simple brake repair on my 2017 Ram 2500 turned into an all-day nightmare, a ridiculous $5,000+ repair quote, and a complete waste of my time. I brought my truck in because the brakes were squeaking whenever I came to a stop. I specifically told them I suspected a missing brake clip or hardware, and I had already purchased replacement clips that were sitting in my truck. Instead of checking what I brought it in for, they told me they needed to perform an inspection before giving me a price. I was originally told that if it was just a brake job, it shouldn't cost more than $450. I agreed. Five hours later, I was still sitting in their shop waiting. This truck was my only transportation, and I had nowhere else to go. After about four hours, I asked how much longer it would take. That's when I was told they hadn't even gotten to the brakes yet! After another hour, they finally finished their inspection. Their diagnosis? My brakes were perfectly fine, and the squeaking was supposedly coming from my upper and lower ball joints. They also recommended tightening an exhaust clamp and rotating my tires. Now, I've been a mechanic for 15 years. I know my way around a truck. The only reason I brought it to a shop is because I recently moved here, I'm working on the road, and I don't have my tools or equipment available to tear into my truck myself. I explained AGAIN that I believed the squeaking was coming from missing brake hardware, not the ball joints. They insisted I was wrong. So I asked what it would cost to replace the upper and lower ball joints. Their quote was OVER $5,000! Absolutely ridiculous. I found a set of heavy-duty Kryptonite ball joints online for under $300. I run 35-inch tires on my truck, so I wanted something stronger than OEM. Neff Diesel told me they only use OEM parts. I started calling around and found Caveman Tires, who agreed to replace my upper and lower ball joints and perform an alignment for $450 in labor. Compare that to Neff Diesel's $5,000+ quote! Here's where it gets even better. After the ball joints were replaced, MY BRAKES STILL SQUEAKED! I asked the guys at Caveman Tires to pull the wheel and check the brake hardware, exactly what I had asked Neff Diesel to do from the very beginning. And guess what? THE BRAKE CLIPS WERE MISSING! The guys installed the clips I had already purchased, and just like that, the squeaking was completely gone! So after wasting five hours of my day, telling me my brakes were fine, insisting my ball joints were causing the noise, and quoting me over $5,000 in repairs, the actual problem turned out to be exactly what I told them it was when I first walked through the door. I'm not saying my ball joints didn't need replacement, but they were NOT the cause of the brake squeaking I brought my truck in for. What bothers me most isn't just the outrageous quote. It's the fact that they wouldn't listen to the customer, failed to identify a simple problem, and tried to convince me that an expensive repair would fix an issue it had nothing to do with. I can only imagine what someone with no mechanical experience might have agreed to pay. Neff Diesel is hands down the worst mechanic shop I've personally dealt with. Five hours wasted, a $5,000+ quote, and they couldn't identify missing brake clips. Save yourself the frustration, time, and money. Take your vehicle somewhere else. ZERO STARS if that were an option. I will NEVER recommend Neff Diesel to anyone.
