I highly advise anyone in the Elko, NV area to be extremely cautious and take consideration into my review and what has transpired. Yelp reviews and Facebook reviews clearly indicate that One Nut Mobile Maintenance clients are being taken advantage of. Don't let the less descriptive reviews trump the ones of foul treatment.
Back on May 29, 2023, I was in an accident that forced me to have an insurance claim. Because the Elko area does not include bigger repair shops that are under my insurance, I was forced to locate a repair shop to accommodate my vehicle. Initially, I never heard of One Nut Loose Mobile due to them being fairly new and just in operation for approximately a year. When I spoke to Lawrence (owner) he indicated the vehicle repair could be easily done and accepted the job. Due to the inconvenience insurance companies have, there became a delay in having the check sent. When I finally got the check,
(June 7, 2023), Lawrence called me and stated I needed to co-sign the check because I was named on it as well as he was. I met him and did so. He called me 5 minutes later stating I needed to be present at the bank. I became worried as to why a check for 12,700 was issued under both our names when his shop was doing the repairs. I reached out to the insurance company, and they explained why was because once the shop agreed to fix the vehicle it was solidified to issue a check and allowed the insurance company to be out of the picture. Nevertheless, on June 7, 2023, my truck had the money deposited. Mind you, he deposited the entire check before any parts were ordered, or labor conducted, IT WAS ALL CASHED TO HIS ACCOUNT!!!!
Lawrence had adequate time to prepare for such a job knowing that he had it for several weeks. After a month I had NO response or update from Lawrence, and I called my insurance company, and they informed me that he was failing to return their calls as well. The following week, my insurance called me and told me they spoke to Lawrence and that my vehicle would be ready by Friday. I called Lawrence and reiterated what I was told, and he became irate and said insurance companies don't understand how repair shops work and he was waiting on parts, and then he HUNG UP ON ME! I heard nothing from him for 2 months because he was no longer answering my calls. I called the insurance company, and they informed me that the adjuster would contact me.
Later that day, I was called by the adjuster, and she informed me that because she lived in Spring Creek where the shop was, she would stop by physically. Not even 10 minutes later, she informed me that my truck was never touched nor was it worked on. IT WAS SITTING IN THE SAME SPOT IT GOT TOWED TO back in June. Mind you, we are almost in the middle of September today! Lawrence tried to give excuses like he always does and stated he would get 3 to 4 guys on it, and have it done in two days! which shows the dishonesty, lack of integrity, and unprofessionalism displayed by a business. He had my truck for over 3 months but claims he could have it done in two days only until an adjuster sees the type of operation he has in place!
I immediately had my vehicle towed to another shop and informed Lawrence he needed to return the check for 12,700 $ so I could take it to a more professional shop. He claims his wife handles all the finances and needed 24 hours to get the check back to me. I asked if she handles the finances then why are you cashing, accepting, and depositing checks from clients?? He had no response. I returned the next day to have phone calls ignored and never returned. I caught him at his business and told him it's been 24 hours where my check was, and also why he never returned my calls. He stated he was extremely busy. However, when I saw him, he was chomping away on food so I could tell he was not extremely busy as I only disturbed his lunch break.
He then began his excuses by saying that he would need to get me a certified check and wouldn't be able to do it until the following Monday, I was fed up with his lies and immediately called the police. The police arrived at his house and explained to him what was going on and then I set up a time and place for him to meet me and we could get my money returned. That Monday when we both agreed to meet, he never showed up!!!!!
He has now blocked my texts and phone calls and haven't heard from him until today. I am now forced to report his matter to the Sheriff and District Attorney's office.
If you read the reviews on Yelp and his business on Facebook, you can see a pattern of misconduct with clients. The latest review was submitted within the same timeframe I was being lied to regarding my vehicle, and those people are out several thousand dollars as well.
