I visited Riverside Tavern toward the end of August with a couple of friends. We had been bouncing around the area and wanted to check out a new-to-us place. The weather was nice, so we sat out on the covered patio. Our server was super sweet and answered our million questions with grace. We all enjoyed our cocktails. I had a gin drink that was delightful and refreshing. For my meal, I ordered the pork schnitzel with sides of mac and cheese and french fries. The schnitzel itself was tasty, but both sides were lacking. I'd just get different sides next time. The vibe was so chill and relaxing, and the interior looked inviting too. Prices were reasonable for the quality. I'd consider a return trip for sure.

Indoor and patio seating Great menu. Not too big, not too small. Just don't things right and there is something for everyone. The kitchen pivots to please customers Bartenders are friendly and make you feel like you belong there. Happy hour has some great menu treats. Looking forward to going back.

Riverside Tavern feels like you're visiting a family friend's place. This tiny tavern gives me beach town vibes. There is bar seating and booths inside. There is a covered patio outside. My partner and I stopped by here after a post work walk to grab some dinner. We were a bit surprised at the prices of things with tax and tip, but I supposed it's expected with inflation. We got the chopped cheese sandwich and the oyster poboy special. I love that they have a choice between fries or tots. The fries are the thick kind and the tots are pretty good. Both options are easy to inhale. My partner really liked his chopped cheese sandwich. I was happy with my oyster poboy. The sauce they used really complimented the fried oysters. When we went, there seemed to be only one waitress so the service was a bit slow, but thankfully we weren't in a rush. It's a charming place to stop by and get a meal.

Torta, Cuban, and Fried Chicken Sandwich are all fantastic. I don't know how I'll choose between these 3 in the future. The Brussels were super crispy and seasoned great. Hand cut fries are also better than most fries I've had. I don't eat pasta salad a lot but no complaints about theirs. Only thing I haven't liked was the burger. I don't mind a messy one but this one got a little too messy. Can't wait to try the rest of the menu! Service has been good too and staff is cool.

This is a neighborhood gem not to be missed. This location has been different things in the past. If our food, but more importantly, the treatment we received were any measure of success, this place will stick & excel. What is a Cuban sandwich and why is it so appealing? There are differences of opinion on wether it was created in the Keys, or Tampa. Likely for the workers of the cigar industry in those areas more than a century ago. It's wide appeal is likely due to the balance of flavor profiles when done right: savory, fatty, smoky, garlicky, sour, sweet, toasty, unctuous perfection. The pork, ham, cheese, bread, pickles, mustard, must all be applied correctly. This was the best one I've had, anywhere else, outside of South FL. They use locally made long rolls/baguette, and use wisdom with the rest of the ingredients. The bread is far less "doughy", which is fantastic toasted and pressed because you taste everything in harmony. The beef torta was equally delicious, as were the tavern fries I had with it, and the potatoes hash my wife enjoyed. They have bar & booth seating, and plentiful seating outside in a tent, that they have legit heaters for, to keep it warm on a day as today. I don't drink but the cocktail menu, craft beer board, and bar, along with the numerous large TV's, look like it would be fun if that's all they were. We received EXCEPTIONAL friendly service from the fantastic couple in this family business: Wade & Sam. They couldn't have been more accommodating, and warm or friendly. We are sure to return with our adult daughters in tow. Every neighborhood needs a place like this.

The restaurant was quite busy, but we were seated on the patio quickly. That evening, they had a pasta al a vodka special but I still got the lamb burger with fries. We also got the pork bowl, which was HUGE and the table favorite. The bowl had rice, beans, pineapple, shredded pork, tomatoes and pickled onions. I love the amount of food and all the toppings. It was kind of elevated chipotle! We finished the evening with coconut cream pie and a couple more Coors lights. The coconut cream pie was fluffy and slightly sweet. The only thing is the crust was a bit hard, but it was still very yummy!

The staff were polite, but we had to ask several times to get items we were missing or things we wanted extras of. They checked in on us a fair number of times, but they still forgot to return to give us what we had asked for. By the time we were ready to leave, we still haven't gotten our dressings or our condiments. I also had asked for my burger to be well done, but I got a burger with quite a bit of pink in it. I didn't want to ask for it to be placed back on the grill because I didn't really want to wait longer for my food. Although I wanted my burger to be well done and I didn't get it that way, it was still pretty good. The fries though, I think was the best part of it. The fries were perfectly seasoned and crunchy! I also ordered a coke. Just a heads up, they don't do free refills on the sodas, so each cup is $4. My party also ordered salmon l'orange and a romano salad with salmon. My friends really enjoyed their main dishes, but we did ask for extra dressing. The restaurant is decorated in a boho-style vibe, and it was cute. We found the lighting on the side dining area to be a little bit too dim once the sun went down, but I do think it would've been perfect for a date night vibe. Overall, we had an okay experience.

To my jubilee it was happy hour and I was excited to drink and eat some yummy Cajun chicken pasta. Well their happy hour is nothing to write home about. It's 1 dollar off their cocktail menu.. disappointing. They do have $3 rails. The service is bleh. We weren't given much attention despite being 2 of the 3 people at the bar. I order the Cajun chicken pasta of course and 30 minutes later it arrives. Let me tell you... it did not come through drippin. I took one bite and was disgusted. There was no sauce whatsoever on this pasta. The chicken was hard and gross. I was hurt so hurt I didn't even order anything else. I sat there and drank my water while my partner in food ate his shrimp po boy which was mediocre. The fries are lit. To my surprise, while waiting for him to finish up they brought out a brand new pasta for me to try. The guy said he made it himself and I was so shocked. He gave it to me free of charge and I'm very appreciative of his effort. The second pasta was better still not for me. I ate some of it and he let me know they would be taking it off of the menu in three days which is probably for the best. I wanted to like this place but unfortunately they just don't cut it.

It was rather empty. Our group of 6 plus four others, which means FAST ROTATION . The karaoke DJ was cool. The sound system is nice! Good mics, speakers, and song arrangements. He had a huge vault of songs... everything I asked for, he had. Some of which are not as popular as others. AND the best part, he could change the pitch to accommodate my vocal range. Some of my favorite songs are a bit too high, and I had to ask for two of them to be brought down 1/2 step. Songs ranged from 50s to current. Enjoyable singers all around and everyone was fun to watch. I got a glass of their tempranillo, which was perfection. Full bodied, super dry and delicious. I also got a pizza, which is kind of a personal size. Very thin. Good, but not great. Decor is nice. Newly renovated with mostly tables all on the same level, but also a couch area next to the TV, and about three bar seats. Plenty of room to spread out. The only thing keeping Gramophone from 5 stars is the lack of food options. Hope they're able to add some simple staples like burgers and fries or salads. Convenient location right on the corner of Forest Hill and Westover Hills Blvd. I'll definitely come back for karaoke and wine!
