This small company was a nightmare to work with. The owner, and the only person i met face to…read moreface, was the reason. They took cash as a 50% deposit before they would order the materials. But they couldn't give me a receipt as they were in a "new office". So I had a hand written receipt that i wrote out, as i didn't trust giving cash with a promise of an emailed receipt. The emailed receipt still hadn't arrived by Monday. I asked for a copy of the material order to be emailled. They couldn't provide that and never did. I then tried to cancel everything and he refused to send me a check and wanted to discount his expenses for his time and costs. and have me come to him as he wasn't going to mail it. I felt bullied by him. Not wanting to risk losing my money, I apologized for not trusting him, and we agreed to proceed. Materials were delivered on time. Start date was moved back. Twice. Next start date was set for Columbus day and the only person who showed up was a drone person and he asked if the job was completed to my satisfaction. (There was zero work started and four crates of materials sitting on the sidewalk.) This person was oblivious to his surroundings. Thank God we had Mexicans show up the next day to do the real work. They did most of it but left trash, limbs and 8 inch ruts in the yard where the trailer was. What they didn't leave was about a third of the over bought shingles. Not a single piece was left behind to patch something in the future. They also didn't touch an overhang after one of the crew fell through it. It needed to be replaced. SG asked me if I knew a carpenter who could fix it? Huh? He later wrote me an estimate that involved $600 in shingles. The same shingles that I had already paid for. No thanks. It then took him a week and several excuses before the three bundles of shingles that I had paid for were delivered to me for someone else to repair the overhang. Don't ever pay anyone in cash. Don't ever pay everything until the job is completed. There are companies out there that will do that.

I wouldn't work with this company again if my life depended on it. After being ran around and…read morepromised my job would be done multiple times, the job was done incorrectly they came and replaced the shingles on my carport roof, but didn't replace the boards that needed to be replaced. After yet again trying to give the company the benefit of the doubt, I asked them to come and fix the job they messed up because it wasn't what I paid for. They agreed and said they would and they would get to it ASAP, seeing as I had already waited for it to be completed. After waiting 4 weeks for them to come and correct the situation and not hearing from the owner of the company at all, I told them I wanted my money back if they weren't going to perform said job correctly. Well that must have made the owner nervous because he made sure to get back to me and mentioned how I'm a "stupid woman" how "he doesnt need this s*** from me" and he continued to mf me up one side and down another, via phone call about how I can take him to court because he doesn't have to complete my job for 24 months and how he was already in the hole over the job, because it had been bid out incorrectly, and completed incorrectly the first time, so he had to purchase all the materials again. Clearly all things that are not my problem or fault. If the job would have been bid out correctly the first time and completed correctly the first time, I wouldn't have had an issue but he decided to be a misogynistic male, who apparently had TOLD his workers to do the roof the incorrect way the first time to cut cost! Which his workers told me he was the one who instructed them to do it incorrectly. I guess since the employee of his bid us lower than he should have, he thought he would make up cost by cutting corners on our job. Then as his employee called him to let him know what was decided he continued to call me a "pain in the a$$" in front of me...apparently people who expect to get what they pay for in a timely manner when they've been promised something are completely ridiculous to Jeff.
