If you want a good nights sleep do not stay here. Had a room on the first floor and I could hear every footstep of the family staying in the room above us and they stayed awake walking around the room, taking showers and using the sink (could hear the running water as well) until 11:30pm. Could also hear people talking out in the parking lot and their cigarette smoke filtered into our room. The TV in the room is maybe 32 inches at best and does not get any cable channels like a modern hotel. Wi-Fi is super slow. Oh, arrived at hotel at 5:30pm to checkin and was told room was not ready yet, WTF, checkin time is 4:00pm. And yes it is right on the Rogue River, but there is no access to any walking trails, you have a postcard view of the river from your balcony. Don't be fooled by the website or other reviews. read more

I originally was going to give this place a 5 star. My boyfriend and I stayed here two separate times. The first time around, our room was great. It was spacious and the room looked very clean. The view of the river was a plus. We had a great view in the morning. The lady at the front desk was very nice and friendly. The breakfast was great. we did not have any issues our first time at this hotel. We came back a few days later to stay another night. I did my usual inspection before we started settling everything down. As we walked into the room, it had a bit of a funky smell. It smelt like someone who hasn't showered was in there right before us. I checked the restroom and found feces smeared at the bottom of the outside of the toilet bowl, which was really disgusting. I immediately called the front desk and was moved to a different room. This next room was fine but it still had that funky smell like there were pets in there or just someone who had really bad BO. The smell was on the sheets too so now I'm thinking, they probably don't even change the sheets after each customer. So we didn't even use the sheets. Someone was also smoking on their balcony so the smoke made its way into our hotel room. We didn't bother complaining about it because we were tired and just needed somewhere to sleep. We had to get some stuff from the car so on the way back there was a cart full of what it seems like folded sheets and pillowcases outside. I'm thinking to myself hopefully they don't just leave that out and use it in the morning. Sure enough, the next morning when we were getting ready to leave we passed by that cart full of sheets again, which I hoped was actually dirty sheets (which shouldn't even be left out like that anyway because of all the bugs and leaves that were flying around that area). I do have to say the staff was very friendly and attentive. I did ask to have the breakfast to go before breakfast time because were leaving before that and they were able to accommodate us. read more

There are much better options in Grants Pass. The walls are paper thin, one can literally hear everything going on next door. The next door tenants were very inebriated, extremely loud, obnoxious, and outright discussing. The front desk did very little to try to make it right to folks that were impacted at 3:00 am for over an hour. The apology was less than sincere and somewhat snarky. I was offered a 20% discount. I paid for a comfortable stay with an opportunity for a good nights rest. I did not receive this, nor did I receive a sincere apology. As mentioned earlier, there are many better options in Grants Pass, this as a $50 a night joint, masquerading for a nicer hotel. read more

As part of an extensive road trip, and travelling with a dog, our accommodations have always been an upstairs room and an end cap room to be considerate of other guests. When we arrived the only room available to us was an interior first floor room. Despite attempts to find a more suitable accommodations to no avail. We had road noise, and a loud mini refrigerator (had to unplug it to stop the noise). The rooms on both sides of us and the room above us had guests who were either very load or were having an argument that was just never ending!!! The front door was in desperate need of weatherstripping as you could see the outside light stream in from three sides!!! The bed had five very firm pillows which were not comfortable to sleep on! At Midnight, was awoken, to find Ants marching across the bed and my face!!! The only reason Riverside Inn is getting 3stars is because of Amber, who helped us locate your place and the popcorn she gave us upon arrival, and her friendly/helpful demeanor. Also, Jessica who at the complimentary breakfast was sweet, kind, and helpful too! Fix your rooms, listen to guests when they have special requests especially when it's to help you out, and get more employees like Amber and Jessica. Suggestion: give your front office more discretion abilities to accommodate guest's needs. read more

My first sort of complaint is that I did not expect to have to carry my luggage up outdoor steps, but my bad. The rooms are very basic, and a little outdated and shabby. My room on the second floor provided a nice view of the river but I also heard quite a bit of traffic from the bridge next to the Inn. The beds are pretty comfortable and there is a little fridge that shares the closet, which is awkward if you actually want to use the closet for clothes. My biggest pet peeve is placing the little coffee maker in the bathroom vanity space forcing the customer to move it to even plug it in. The breakfast is the pits. It is served in a gross, dingy room called "The Eagles Nest"; I think it is where eagles go to die. There is one choice of bread, bagels, two choices of dry cereal, and some bananas and apples and a little dish of small yogurt and hard boiled eggs (which must have been laid by those dead eagles). I have to come back next week for business and booked my next stay at the Holiday Inn Express just so I can have breakfast. read more

We we have been staying at the Riverside Inn in Grants Pass Oregon for over 10 years. It is always a very calm and comfortable place to stay and it's lovely to stay by the river with a wonderful View. The Canadian geese outside the window are awesome to look at they can be a little loud but it's nice to fall asleep listening to the honking. Our pet friendly room is always very nice, sometimes pet-friendly rooms can be not so great these have been renovated with new hardwood floors and are very clean and comfortable. Recently the breakfast has been upgraded. It was always good but now they feature a hot breakfast of scrambled eggs a breakfast meat and biscuits and gravy along with of coarse cereals and muffins and baked goods. Indeed, this hotel is due for renovations and updating. It has fallen a bit behind the times. The rooms feel like they have been cleaned, but the years are showing through stained carpet, musty smells, and worn furnishings. However, the beds are very comfortable, and the location is spectacular, within walking distance of shopping, dining, a big park, and the really great Jet Boat excursions. Also, the staff seem genuinely nice and caring. And overall, the motel is nice, but needs to invest a bit to stay competitive. read more

After spending 4 nights last April across the street at the Riverside Suites, this location is a bit of a let down. It has all the view as the other location but lacks the charm and character. The rooms were fine I guess. Nothing special and a bit outdated. The carpet looked old and the furniture was pretty meh. But in all reality, who goes to a hotel for the furniture? The bed was pretty comfortable, they offered a complimentary breakfast, and it's a good location. I would be more disappointed if I had brought the family along or needed to spend multiple days in town. Our room was clean, and in good shape, but no more spacious or luxurious than say a Holiday Inn Express. The view of the river is certainly a nice feature. We were on the 2nd floor and the ceiling in our unit reverberated every foot step from the unit above. It was annoying. If you are getting a deep discount from the internet sites then the price is okay. I chose this property because I wanted an upgrade, it looked extra special and I got a deal. Stayed here recently and overall it's a no frills and fine place to stay at for a night. Check in was friendly and straightforward. They have snacks and wine/beer for sale in the lobby, a heated pool, and every room has a nice river view. Room was comfortable and clean. The furniture is a bit dated and worn down, but perfectly fine and clean otherwise. It's also very quiet, aside from the sounds of nature from the river and some light traffic sound from the small bridge. read more

To no fault if the girl, it's close to a busy street and it must be near a fire station, as there were sirens all night. The view of the river was nice, we enjoyed the balcony. Reserved a pet friendly room online for a set price. We arrive and I was informed that there is an extra pet fee of $25. We go to room and it smells strongly of vinegar and there is a large greasy puddle around toilet in bathroom. The room doesn't smell clean and there were large sticky spots on counters. Curtain had blood stains all over it and the bed skirts were ripped and snagged. The deck railing Paint was half peeled off and when looking off the deck there was a half eaten sandwich and a ton of garbage. The topper was looking down to the river and seeing someone bathing in the river. When we called the front desk about the cleanliness issues they offered to come over with Frebreeze and a swiffer. She inspected the room and made excuses for why it seemed dirty but didn't have any other pet rooms so we decided to find another hotel. We are not picky but a room needs to at-least be clean. Said she would talk to manager to see what they could do, an hour goes by and still no call. Called the office again and was told manager didn't get in until 7pm. They were unwilling to do anything else so we left for another hotel. (That's another story don't stay at La Quinta.) read more

We moved over to this hotel from another local chain place. From the moment we walked in it felt so comfortable. It's a little rustic which we love. The room didn't have a microwave so I walked to the lobby to ask if we can warm up food and guess what.....? They brought a microwave to our room. Very cool. This is a lovely property that is well taken care of. Rooms are clean and access to Hellgate Jetboat Excursions is excellent. However, when the manager of The Riverside Inn accuses you of stealing a duvet cover, you really have no recourse. So we won't be coming back. read more

The reason that is is a 3 star is due to the view of the river from the room. Although the rooms appeared to be somewhat updated, there is much that could be done. Old doors, outdated colors and furniture. No microwave in room. My son said he thought he smelled mildew close to his bed. I was not told they only service the room if you stay more than 3 days. I understand why but should have been told at check-in and I would recommend a better process. Such as being able to return used towels to lobby to exchange new ones and directions on where to leave garbage from over flowing cans. There is so much potential for this location. read more

Although the location is pretty the hotel is really outdated. Their is no sound barrier between rooms. We got no sleep because everything happening in the room above us and next to us we could hear all night, even their sink and showers. The water pipes were so loud it was rediculous. Also, the rooms were clean but on the porch their were toenails and bandaids. We stayed there for the river view and downtown location with a Travelocity code, la Quinta was the same price we should have stayed there. read more

This is the best place to stay in grants pass hands down! Ive stayed here a couple of times now and I keep coming back because of the great service and beautiful view! Cameron and V are amazing! The atmosphere is really laid back and friendly. I really loved the view from my room it was so beautiful. The location is great right next to the park and not too far from downtown. The service was really above and beyond what I was expecting. I've traveled all over the world and stayed in some very high end places like enchantment in Sedona Arizona for example ( $1000/night!), but Cameron and V really just make me feel like VIP every visit to grants pass. I will not be staying anywhere but here from now on. Overall you want to stay here because of the service, views , prices and the management is awesome! read more

Avoid this hotel at all costs. Worst hotel stay ever. We checked in late (around 9:30 pm) after driving all day with our young kids. I asked for a room on the top floor so that my kids wouldn't be woken up by people above us. I was told that we would have to pay more to be on the top floor, but no one was above us. We opened the door to our room to find another family in the room. It was so unbelievably awkward. The other family left and went to another room. We put our kids to sleep right away, but soon after heard people in the room above us, which was disappointing. But the worst was yet to come...I started sneezing and my eyes, ears, mouth, and nose were incredibly itchy. Fortunately I had a benadryl, which saved me. But I was left wondering what was in the room that caused such a bad allergic reaction?? The room was dated and there was only one end table and lamp (we had 2 queen beds). We could hear traffic noise. The heater unit kicked on and off all night and disturbed our sleep. The breakfast was edible, but the coffee was awful. The staff was friendly, but clearly not skilled at assigning rooms. read more

So now that's taken care of.. Room was just ok needing some major TLC wore my socks the whole time because carpet was soooo dirty my socks were black.. A step back at check in I used my American Express to hold and told the lady I had a visa gift card to use at check out she ok sure no problem well checked out this morning and the young man said no sorry it has to have your name on it :( it's a pre paid GIFT card nope sorry with credit card fraud you could charge all day on it ;( noooo you can't it has 500 bucks on it and that's it... we have 3 labs that we had with us we had in their $300 kennels which they stay in all the time they are trained hunting dogs. we told the front desk we had them in our truck but would not be in the room which they were not. the hotel charged us $150 AFTER we left because they kept blaming the barking on our dog which was not our dog and we checked on them multiple times, they had food and water yet someone still called the animal control on us who checked them out and said they were fine. We were told that their "auditor" found dog hair on the bed sheets um well no kidding we have dog hair on our clothes on our home items, were messing with dogs non stop and taking them swimming at the river yea were gonna have dog hair on us that will transfer to other things!! this hotel is conflicting with their customer service and frankly they are not friendly people. i will never stay here again and we were frequent customers but since being treated with complete disrespect like we are bad dog owners and liars I am so very very disappointed in my whole trip thanks to this hotel. read more

Gorgeous Rogue River views, balconies with chairs and a drink table over looking the river, they allow dogs, Aveda moisturizer (altho they give you Pert Plus or Pantene for your hair but I always bring my Bumble and Bumble), small but clean pool, large hottub, crappy poolside lounge chairs, continental breakfast of which I had none because I'm a late riser, nearby attractions including Hells Gate jet boating and River Rock cafe and gift shop. The place is rustic so its not exaclty a four-star hotel but for camping in a hotel its great. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. Stay here semi frequently through my work. Yesterday I opened my room to a family there. Staff have no idea where any of my personal belongings are - they think somehow they were shipped off to Minnesota! I don't understand how my personal belongings (including medication, with my name on it) gets into a plane, without first checking with the client they think owns it. Such a great little place to stop. The room is beautiful and the front desk person (cierra) is so friendly, I'd love to have her as an employee. The room is so comfortable with a stone fireplace, comfy bed and balcony overlooking the River. What else could you ask for? In lieu of their continental breakfast (not available because of covid) they have a menu where you can select the breakfast items you would like to pick up at the office in the morning to take back to your room. What a nice solution to an otherwise not great situation. The balcony has such a nice view with a table and 2 chairs so you can drink your morning coffee overlooking the River. They also have a curated wine list of local wines that you can purchase by the bottle at the front desk. I'm definitely putting this place on my list of stops while traveling and will be back. I was happy to have a pool in such warm weather and the breakfast in the morning was fine. There was generally nice staff. However, our room itself was another experience. Within our time (one night) I found over twelve bugs in our room- some living, some not. The shower had creepy crud in the grout and generally around. Very disappointed in the cleanliness. Nice exterior, rooms ok. Need new furniture. Liked the updated bathroom, bedding and tv. Breakfast is basic yogurt, cereal, bagels etc. The location is nice on the river but its more of a place for people passing through town. I would stay here again but not with kids. We booked through a third party so the Inn was under no obligation to refund our money but did so anyways. We missed out because the Inn itself looked wonderful, located next to a river. Rooms are clean and updated. Complimentary breakfast left much to be desired. Fresh coffee, cereals, bagles, oatmeal, yogurt, waffles and fruit. Just the basics. If you want a view of the river, get a second or third floor room. I could only see bushes from our 1st floor deck. Conveniently located next to shops and restaurants. Unique and charming place to stay on my way home from a rafting trip on the Rogue River. When I was there they had a summer concert in the park very close to the Inn. The bed was comfy, especially after making the mistake of staying at the Shilo Inn the night before..and all of the staff were welcoming and seemed to like their job and helping the guests. read more
