I'm going to be as objective…read moreas possible while setting the record straight- the staff were all good, and offering breakfast, appetizers and cookies/fire/s'mores in the evening was a really nice touch. As others have mentioned, the breakfast wasn't great, but we were travelling with little kids so having something to get the day started is really important (A for effort, C- for execution). They had a decent selection of beer and wine to order in the evenings (at reasonable prices for a hotel). The grounds were pretty nice. Things fall short of expectations when you get to the accommodations and location. Our cabin felt old and dilapidated, not "historic" in the sense of the Ahwahnee Lodge (Yosemite) or Lake MacDonald Lodge (Glacier). You walk in to a slightly damp environment that smells a bit like septic mixed with old camp fire. The couch, and carpet were pretty gross. Beds were mediocre, and although the sheets looked clean, the setup wasn't exactly confidence inspiring. Rooms are not cleaned daily, and since we have little people in diapers, we opted to just put the trash can outside. Perhaps the worst part was that we were put into the AFrame cabin with no possibility to change rooms (that's not what I booked). There's a steep ladder that leads to the second bed upstairs. This arrangement is not realistic or safe with toddlers. Overall, everything was just, kinda... shabby. "Historic" in the context of the Weasku is a euphemism for "run-down". As for location, if you think you're going to be right on the Rogue, you'd be mistaken. There's an irrigation ditch that runs directly behind the cabins, fed by a pump house about 100 yards away. If you do walk down to the river, be careful because this section is very dangerous/inhospitable. The river is really swift there, so it's not good for fishing (yes, no fishing spots there!), not good for kids, no beach stuff... but plenty of spiked berry brambles and poison oak if that's your thing. Road noise is constant and detracts from the vibe of peaceful seclusion. Interstate 5 is hidden by trees just on the other side of the river, so you'll hear that all night long. As for Grants Pass, unless you've got a reason to be there, you'd be better off somewhere like Ashland. The Weasku served our needs, and we all escaped without bedbugs or scabies. Would I stay again? Not if you paid me. Rating reflects great staff and nice grounds, with negative stars for accommodations.

Not really an obnoxious traffic noise. The rest of the stay .....meh. Check in was fine, efficient and courteous. The desk clerk didn't go out of his way to make us feel welcome or anything, but that's ok given the age we live in. Noone goes oit of their way to be friendly anymore. One of the room keys didnt work when we got to the room, but that wasn't an issue really, since the second key worked fine. Upon entering the room, we were immediately met with a strong "mopped floor with dirty wet mop" smell. You know the smell i mean. The pillows (or maybe the sheets?) also smelled ....uncleaned. Not fresh at all. On our return home from a long day in the sun, neither of the room keys worked. We were also locked out of using the door to the elevator so we had to schlep our weary bodies around the length of the hotel parking lot to the front desk where we were greeted with a " I'll be right back sign" at the front desk. Yup. We had to wait in the non air conditioned lobby for the front desk person to get back. It was the icing on the cake of a bad experience. When we returned to our room, my husband racked his elbow on an obtrusively placed cabinet causing a bloody bruise to swell up. The cabinet placed, mind you, not at the center of the wall between two beds to allow safe passage into the room, but on the foot of one bed, in the entranceway. Picture below. This property has been our favorite for years. They recently changed ownership. The staff walks around like zombies and never crack a smile. If they dont want to be there, then why should we come back? Especially now that the property has had a blood sacrifice. Such a shame. Because I'd do almost anything just for the view.

Her breakfast surpassed every expectation we could've imagined. John does a magnificent job maintaining the ground and the gardens. The view from our bedroom deck was both majestic and serene of the mountains in the distance. And unlike most places we've stayed, the deck and the deck furniture were actually clean! You could sit out on them and enjoy the view. Fortunately, we had a large lunch on the way to The Manor. It is in a remote area, and unless you want to cook yourself, your only choice for dinner is a long drive back into town. The other factor to note, is that the air conditioning is central and turned off at night. Our room did not really cool down despite open windows. We are from a cool climate, and the heat was difficult. Overall, if you're looking for an out-of-the-way quiet bed and breakfast get-away, this is the place for you. If you're looking for state of the art lodging close to town activities and restaurants this would not be your best choice.

What a great place to stay in Grant's Pass!…read more On a road trip and our car broke down just outside of Grants Pass. How lucky did we get that we happened to choose The Riverside Inn as our place to spend the night? Firstly, the folks that run the hotel are kind, compassionate and funny as all get out. They are extremely personable and clearly care about the property and the guests that visit. The property is well maintained and set right on the river with balconies and porches that face the water so that the sounds of the river and the water fowl lull you to sleep at night. The rooms are well appointed with comfy beds, crisp, clean linens and great amenities like a fridge, coffee maker and in-room safe. It was fairly quiet at night and we got a great night's sleep. The free breakfast was delicious. The day we were there they offered biscuits and gravy and the gravy was some of the best I've ever had. We left full and ready to hit the road again. I am already planning my next visit and look forward to spending more time in the area!

With the stunning Rogue River flowing right through the backyard, sitting on the patio was an absolute delight. Lora Jean was welcoming and knowledgeable, we found ourselves popping into the lobby more than once just to chat with her. A few highlights: - EV charger on site (always a win) - Quiet room (Tuesday night in June) and not to mention, clean. - Sink is located outside of the bathroom (huge plus), so you're not waiting for someone to finish a shower to brush your teeth or wash your face! - Warm, friendly morning staff. One legitimately reminded me of a sweet aunt of mine -Included breakfast was surprisingly great: scrambled eggs, bacon, biscuits and gravy (damn you, Keto), waffles, toast, bagels, cereal, fruit, oatmeal... and excellent coffee - Check in and check out were effortless - Excellent pricing (granted, Tuesday in June with no events happening in town) This place completely exceeded expectations.

This is a little different than a typical motel - you pay a cleaning fee as part of the room. The room we got had a huge jacuzzi tub (we didn't use). I did find it a little difficult to maneuver - my knee was bothering me so getting myself up and over the side of the tub to take a shower was challenging - there is also a pretty high step just to get up into the bathroom. There is a nice little kitchen area with a small fridge, sink and table - we were only there for one night so we didn't have a chance to use it. I did use one of our beach towels to cover the bottom of the shade where it didn't quite go all the way down to the windowsill. I think the couch was a fold out bed but we didn't check. We appreciated how quiet and low key this place was and the location was great for visiting Cave Junction. Will visit again next time.

Our hosts, Coleen and her father Ernie, we're incredible, they are friendly, gracious and were very attentive. Coleen is an amazing cook and used fresh ingredients from her garden to make us a wonderful family style dinner, both her and Ernie genuinely wanted to know about us and our journey. Ernie sat with us on the covered deck with stunning views and told us amazing stories of growing up in the area. I can't stop thinking about the wonderful time we had there. We will be back.
