Her breakfast surpassed every expectation we could've imagined. John does a magnificent job maintaining the ground and the gardens. The view from our bedroom deck was both majestic and serene of the mountains in the distance. And unlike most places we've stayed, the deck and the deck furniture were actually clean! You could sit out on them and enjoy the view. Fortunately, we had a large lunch on the way to The Manor. It is in a remote area, and unless you want to cook yourself, your only choice for dinner is a long drive back into town. The other factor to note, is that the air conditioning is central and turned off at night. Our room did not really cool down despite open windows. We are from a cool climate, and the heat was difficult. Overall, if you're looking for an out-of-the-way quiet bed and breakfast get-away, this is the place for you. If you're looking for state of the art lodging close to town activities and restaurants this would not be your best choice.

For the price, amenities, security, and convenience- THIS place is the best one in Grants Pass. They have military discounts, and belong to the Sonesta company so you can earn points, but don't require a downloaded app- only a log-in on their website. Both times I've stayed there, the front desk staff were extremely welcoming and friendly. Check-in was a breeze. Their off-street parking lot is spacious and well lit. Front desk area is separated by the pool area from the rooms. Video monitoring at all times throughout the hotel. Room key required to badge into the building. The entire hotel smells like bleach/cleaning supplies- which I don't mind but may bother some people. Rooms are clean and furniture is modern. The beds are comfortable, and pillows are fluffy. Hot water temperature is perfect, and water pressure is wonderful. The extra amenities that I enjoyed at the hotel are: a handful of red bicycles that can be used by customers. My family and I used them to ride to a bike park the first time we stayed there. Red Lion Inn also has complimentary passes to a gym in Grants Pass. The gym has everything imaginable from swimming pool to sauna to workout classes to child care, to safe Gymboree-type area for kids to play. Red Lion Inn also has its own pool, but I have never had a chance to use it. This hotel also has breakfast included at the main office building. They have fairly standard breakfast options: coffee, juice, bananas, apples, yogurt, muffins... more fresh options would be nice, but during my last stay, the breakfast served its purpose. When I checked in tonight this very elderly old woman proceeded to try and lie and say I did not have that in my notes. I pulled up the reservation to show her. She then said...well that's through Expedia a 3rd party vender and we don't honor what they ask. I've only ever booked through Expedia and never had issues before. This rude mean unhelpful woman proceeded to talk over me and be extremely rude. On the way out she was very condescending telling me to enjoy my stay. I have never been treated like this by staff here. Iam shocked.

When we arrived there was a christmas tree in the lobby, which seemed promisingly cheerful. our room was obviously newly remodeled, but on the cheap side. the blankets and sheets were rough, reeking of bleach, the bed wasn't even made correctly, and there was fifty-years of gunk at each place that hadn't been remodeled. there is a wall ac/heater unit -from the seventies- that badly needs to be cleaned. a thick layer of grime coated each piece of the blower. only one setting worked "high" and since it's right next to the bed, on a cold night, we got no sleep. how this place has higher than a 2-star anywhere is beyond me. if you care about cleanliness at all, skip this nasty place.
