I was referred here by my dentist for a second opinion. Dr. Karr was nice, just not a big fan of her front desk. Based on my opinion they are not professional. I had an initial appointment I had to rescheduled and when I called back to reschedule, they claimed I never was a "new" patient and they never had my information. I had to give my information again, which I did not mind. I told them specifically I was referred by a "specific" mutual doctor in hopes that they will reach out to this doctor to retrieve my current, recent X-rays and referral letter. I didn't realize I had to bring the physical referral in. I had asked about their consult fee but was told they don't know until they look into my insurance and they will call me back with that info, never received that call back. The day of my appointment, the receptionist asked if I had my referral and I apologized and told her I did not. She made a comment about how are they going to know which tooth/teeth to look at. That I would have to wait for her to email or call my dentist for the referral... in my head, I'm thinking why haven't this been done yet?? Luckily the wait wasn't long. They took X-rays so I'm assuming the ones they probably received from my dentist was not what they needed, which i could understood and should have question prior to, but I didn't. My fault. After meeting and talking to Dr. Karr about my treatment plan, we decided to extract and not retreat (thank goodness) I paid and left. About 1 month after my appointment give or take, I received a bill from them so I called to see what it was for. I was told someone will reach out to me. After a few days, they reached out but I was not able to pick up. I returned the call and was informed the bill was for my X-ray the insurance did not cover. I asked why they didn't reach out to my dentist because he took the exact same "scan" right before I saw them. They told me my dentist didn't send it to them so therefore they took theirs. I wasn't going to argue because apparently they need that more than me. SO FOR THOSE WHO WILL BE GOING TO THIS PLACE OR ANY DENTAL SPECIALTY OFFICES know that almost all specialists will require some sort of consult fees! Ask for fees! Asked if you've had a recent scan or X-ray taken can they use it and for them to retrieve it from your dentist so you don't pay for what your insurance already paid for! read more

Do not go here!!! $3500 for a poorly done root canal by Dr. Karr. The front desk is terrible and so rude. Many years later and I still have issues from the procedures done. The will charge hundreds of dollars for any follow ups or to even talk to the doctor. If I can save one person from dealing with this place by leaving a review that is my goal. read more

Doctor Gage is great at explaining before and after the procedure is performed. They even gave me some tinted glasses to block the bright light and headphones to cancel out the noise I forgot I was even getting a root canal. The front desk is friendly and helpful. I recommend this place. read more

I hate getting root canals but i've gotten 3 from here and it's been a great experience due to Dr. Gage and his staff. The staff are friendly and Dr. Gage is super informative and explains everything and anything you want to know with out rushing. He gives treatment options to avoid a root canal if possible. They give you headphones and goggles while the procedure is happening. I feel he is very caring and professional and highly recommended. read more

Dr Gage is superior in his work. Detailed, exacting and thorough in explanations, very professional during treatment and he seems supremely qualified. Having had two root canals from him over the past 4 years, one of which worked out and the other had to ultimately be extracted, I had some pleasant interactions with the front desk and one terse conversation but I did not go there to be made to feel good by staff but to get dental work done. As I read the reviews below, some quite positive and some not so much, one need remember no one goes to an endodontist for fun. We seek specialist care when we need more than our regular dentist does as a part of their practice. Blaming the specialist for discomfort or for an outcome they cannot control seems less than fair. I believe if a root canal will fix the issue, Dr Gage and his staff will give it their best and how can we ask for more than that? I would go there again although I would hope not to need to. read more

My dentist recommended them for a procedure. I set up an appointment and everything was fine then. During my appointment, took some pictures of my teeth and was given different options for procedures. Set up the follow-up appointment for one of the procedures. Just for the pictures and to speak with the Doctor it wad pretty pricey. Insurance covered some and I paid the rest. Later received a bill, so I called and said I thought everything was taken care of. The lady said, don't worry about it, I should be fine. I then received a higher bill and was confused. I called again and this time, it was said i have to pay this bill. I thought I paid everything when I left the appointment to then be harassed for more money without any work done. Paid so much, to just take pictures and no work. Would definitely not recommend. read more

Had a root canal done here by Dr. Karr. After the surgery my affected tooth still hurt. I was told that the tooth and area needed to heal. I later went back to my regular dentist and complained about the continuing pain, twice, from my tooth. I contacted Dr Karr to have her look at the tooth, and fix the problem from my previous surgery. I was told that I would be charged as if I was a new patient. The practice refused to stand behind their work. On top of the poorly executed surgery, the office seemed very disjointed and had confusing policies. My whole interaction there was disappointing and frustrating. Wish I could give negative stars! read more

I ended up at Riverside Endodontics after I broke a filling and ended up needing a root canal. I was in horrible pain and my regular dentist was on vacation. I got an spot very quickly, next day. I checked in and they explained my insurance coverage. Then I was taken back to get a 3-D X-ray of my mouth. Once I was in the room it was roughly a 5 minute wait and Dr. Gordon came in. He was awesome and explained everything and stopped a few times just to ask if I had questions. I got to listen to music on their iPod because the headphones didn't fit into my life proof case. Before I knew it the procedure was done! In all honesty the worst part was the tapping, cold, and sensitivity testing before the procedure. I would recommend to anyone! read more

The girls at the front desk were very nice. When I was called back by the assistant she wouldn't even let me talk and tell her my concerns. She stopped me from talking and said we need to do it in her order and when she is done with everything and the X-rays then I can tell her about my tooth. Since she would even listen to me, that once she did she said that the Dr. wouldn't not treat me unless I allow them to do the procedure I did not want. I have no problem that they didn't want to treat me. My problem was the rude dental assistant that wouldn't even let me talk. So she took a bunch of X-rays that I didn't need and wasted my time and theirs. read more

I was extremely nervous for my first root canal. When I arrived for my consultation the staff was friendly and very informative. They told me about the logistics of the procedure and exactly how much I would owe after my insurance was billed. I had my consult and procedure by Dr. Karr who explained the procedure in detail. When it came time for my root canal, they had me pick out a playlist and gave me headphones. I listened to Bob Marley the whole time and fell asleep for a bit. The music drowned out the sound of the drills and helped me relax. I never thought I'd say it, but thanks to Riverside Endodontics I had a great experience getting a root canal! read more

I had to have a root canal redone by a specialist. That's where this office comes in. They set me up with an appointment right away. When I got there they explained how everything would go. They gave me headphones to drown out the drill noise and dark glasses to not have the blinding light in my eyes. It definitely helped with my stress. Overall it went grate. read more

I was referred to Riverside Endodontics by my regular dentist, to get a root canal. Despite the pain that I was in, my fear of sitting in that chair was even greater. Nicole Karr made me feel so relaxed with the entire procedure from start to finish. I was given music to listen to and was told not to worry, and worry I did not. Just had a root canal procedure completed by Dr. Karr and she was fantastic. I was in a lot of pain prior and thought it would only get worse afterward. I've had a root canal in the past and it was the worst pain I've ever experienced-even worse than when I healed from my c-section. Anyhoo, I had absolutely no pain from Dr. Karr!! She's awesome-I only felt minor jaw soreness. Not only is the office staff very friendly but I really like how they offer to play music during the procedure. They have high tech machines-makes my general dentist look like a dump. I was even able to eat hours later on my tooth. I'm totally amazed. Definitely will recommend this place. read more

I went there for a root canal twice. Best dentist spot ever. I felt so relaxed, they gave me a blanket to feel comfy and headphones to cancel out the noise of the equipment. Nobody wants to get a root canal. But if you have to have one, this is hands down the place to go. Dr. Karr did 3 root canals for me in the past 3 months. I was really impressed. She was fast, competent, caring, gentle, and funny. They have new equipment and specialized tools to do a root canal the right way. I would never go to a general dentist again for a root canal. The office feels new and clean, decorated with vintage Riverside orange crate labels. The staff at the front desk were super helpful and kind. They tried to accommodate my schedule, and explained insurance and billing. The best part is during the procedure, they give you dark goggles to dim the light, and large headphones to listen to music to drown out the noise of the drilling. I was totally numb, didn't feel anything. The dental hygienists were so friendly and kind, gentle too. I highly recommend this place. They are more expensive than my general dentist by about 350$. But insurance pays for most of that. I wouldn't go anywhere else. They did great work. read more

I really wasn't looking forward to seeing an endodontist. I'm so glad I went to Riverside endodontics. The staff was friendly, helpful and helped with my nerves. I then met Dr Karr and she was wonderful.. I felt relaxed & confident after she explained everything. It was a very good experience and great results. At the beginning of the year I had to have a crown replaced on a back top tooth. My dentist said I needed to have a root canal on that tooth and recommended Riverside Endodontics. The had immediate opening so my dentist sent me straight over and good thing too because I probably would have chickened out. I was absolutely terrified. I was so afraid it would really hurt, I was actually crying. Dr. Gage put me at ease right away. He reassured me that he was going to make sure the area was completely numb and I was comfortable. The staff fully explained the procedure. It took less than an hour and it didn't hurt AT ALL! They have a wide variety of music to listen to with noise canceling headphones, I picked classical. They gave me dark glasses so I did not have the bright ceiling lights in my eyes. Next thing I know, it's done. At the end of the year I had to have another root canal on a back lower tooth so I had to go back. The second time I wasn't afraid and seemed even quicker than the first time.
