A renowned night owl who is seldom up before 10:30am in semi-retirement, there I was clutching my jaw in anguish and parked outside my dentist's office when the office manager came to open it, at 9:30am. An hour later, after Dr. Rana Skaff had pronounced "root canal, retreatment" of my bottom R rear molar, I was headed to Dr. Jack Yu and his team of pros at Grandview Endodontics. Everyone that I interacted with, from Office Manager DARLENE to dental nurses JUDY and UELSY to the (very) good doctor himself were consummate pros. They nimbly squeezed me in for a 1:30pm appt despite never hearing of me til 10:30am. They took their diagnostic X-Rays with gentle yet efficient care, treating the swollen, painful tooth; the pain so gnarly it was radiating to my jaw bone and pulsing in perfect synchronized time w/ my heartbeat. Dental Nurse Judy and Dr. Yu work beautifully together! Watching them -eyeballs close yet strangely detached due to multiple rounds of local anesthesia administered- is like watching an orchestra. Each person anticipating the other's need then flashing forward to meet it. I was in the chair, from diagnostic X-Rays to finance/insurance docs to actual treatment, from 1:45pm til 3:35pm. Time immeasurably well spent considering the world of misery I was in for the preceding 48hrs 'til I could get treatment. Pro Q- Is it meeeh or do most infections requiring root canal start on the weekend, when the vast majority of dentists/endodontists are unavailable?! Pro Tip- Dr. Yu is a major proponent of utilizing Gentle Wave / Clean Flow technology as an accompaniment to his root canals. Let him!!! Worth the peace of mind and reduction in post-canal complications. I'll recap this review by paraphrasing the Dos Equis Cerveza guy. I like that they are very straightforward and good follow through. I had a dental emergency due to abscess from a tooth that received crown. I was referred for an endodontist for a root canal and drain the abscess and found this clinic through my insurance website. I was lucky enough to get an appointment on same day. I was referred for a consultation, and was pleasantly surprised that I was able to be seen within 2 days. I appreciate the friendly and efficient staff, there was no waiting in the waiting room, I was seen promptly at my appointment time. I was explained everything and felt no discomfort. I was able to receive treatment that same day. The Dr did an amazing job, I felt no pain or discomfort as well. I felt fine afterwards, and needed no pain medication. I was referred to Grandview Endodontics by my dentist. I called their office and spoke with Toni, who was extremely helpful. She scheduled me for the next available appointment but said she would call me if an earlier appointment opened up. True to her word, she called me back within an hour and had me come in that afternoon. After completely some quick paperwork I was called back for my procedure by Jasmine. She was great! My dentist recommended that I visit Dr. Yu at Grandview Endodontics in the city of Chino Ca for a root canal procedure. I must admit I was nervous and I postponed my appointment twice. I experience top-notch customer service and the procedure I was dreading, was as painless as possible. I came into this office on a referral from my general dentist. Dr Yu was nice enough and explained to me after looking at my tooth and the x rays that I didn't really need to be there. He did some tests on my tooth of concern and let me know that I just needed to take care of the filling first and go from there. This was a huge relief and it made me a bit upset that the general dentist I saw before felt I needed to go to a specialist. But I was overall satisfied with my visit. read more

What a NOVEL CONCEPT!! A PAIN-FREE ROOT CANAL! Yup and you're not misreading this. I was referred to Dr. Yu by my primary dentist for that dreaded root canal. Jazmine, his assistant, walked me through the steps, plainly and clearly making certain I understood what would happen every step of the way. And then Dr. Yu took over. Time flew by, no pain, no annoying chitchat and then voila, it was done. They even had me wear relaxing sunglasses throughout the dental work. If I could give a 0 star I would. This doctor has poor skill and he is greedy. On the day to have my root canal treatment, they told me that after root canal was done, immediately I would have to have a machine treatment to prevent infection, this would cost $200 which insurance would not cover. If I didn't want to have this, this doctor would not do root canal for me. I had to say "Yes" under that situation which my tooth was pain. I have had quite a few root canals on my teeth with other endodontists and never was asked to have this kind of machine so call "treatment". After the root canal was done, I have had pain and pressure on that tooth, I had to take pain killer for a few days and got better after 2 weeks. I never had such awful feeling with other endodontists. Poor skill, I would never recommend this doctor to anybody. read more

Years ago, I had a root canal done at another location. My dentist recommended that I see a specialist as he noticed some cloudiness around the root in a recent X-ray. I saw Dr Sandhu today for a consultation and she said I had an infection in the tooth. The previous root canal was not done all the way to the bottom. They were able to get it done today!! Dr Sandhu was amazing! She cleaned the root to the bottom. This is the best experience I've had with a specialist and no pain! Everyone in the office were very friendly! Nobody likes having their teeth worked on but if you need an endodonic procedure (root canal) Dr. Yu is definitely who you want to perform this procedure. This was my first time visiting this office and everything about my experience was positive. Starting with my initial call, Darlene who was professional and polite was able to get me an appointment the next day. At my appointment every staff member was once again polite and professional, answering my questions and thoroughly explaining the days procedures. Dr. Yu saw me and made his assessment that a root canal was needed. I came back after the lunch hour and Dr. Yu and his very capable assistant Jazmine, took care of my dental issue. The procedure lasted about an hour and was completely painless, I say that with all sincerity. And honestly, there was no post op pain the next day neither. I would 100 percent recommend Dr. Yu! If the 6-month follow-up appointment was so necessary, why did your office never return my calls when I left voice messages asking to reschedule for a later time? When I returned to your office in February 2024, why were you unable to find the missed canal or any issues? Can you admit that my root canal procedure was a failure? You keep emphasizing that I did not come for the 6-month follow-up, but why was no problem detected during the re-evaluation at the 11-month mark, even after taking X-rays? The office is very professional, clean, and up to date on the equipment that is used and they provide excellent care.
