Long story short - get a second opinion. It can save you thousands. I was looking for a local dentist due to minor tooth sensitivity and decided to check out the hype at Barsoum Dental. After a short wait, I was taken to an office for an intake meeting, then to x-rays, then to the review/exam with the dentist. The entire process was extremely rushed and I found myself having to assert myself to get a word in or ask questions, which seemed to annoy the dentist. After briefly reviewing the x-rays, the dentist confidently asserted that I needed 3 root canals and a crown, which seemed odd because I was only having sensitivity on one tooth. After the dentist rushed out, I was sent to billing where they presented me with a $3,800 estimate to get the work done. Feeling uneasy and suspicious, I decided to hold off and get a second opinion at another nearby practice. I'm glad I did. After meeting with a nearby dentist AND an Endodontist (which specialize in root canals), I was told by both that NO root canals were needed and that I only needed a crown on the sensitive tooth. Not only did they save me thousands of dollars, but they also took their time to answer my questions with transparency and ensured every step of the procedure was done with patience and care. I don't believe I would have received that at Barsoum. I'm not saying folks haven't had good experiences at Barsoum, but I do wonder how many people have paid for work that they never needed in the first place. Those marble floors and walls don't pay for themselves. If something feels off, do yourself a favor and get a second opinion. read more

My sisters recommended this local dentist and I was pleasantly surprised. The dentist himself called me the day i made my appointment to welcome me to the practice and ask if I had any special concerns, which I have never experienced before. The service level continued to exceed expectations as they texted me a couple of days before the appointment to confirm and remind me. When I arrived I was promptly given a clipboard and pen with intake paperwork that was clearly marked with areas I needed to conplete. The waiting area had beautiful marble flooring and roomy couches with plenty of space and privacy for those of us who were waiting/filling out paperwork. I was a little surprised a dental office would have Caprisun in their fridge for clients but I thought the complimentary drinks were a lovely touch I was taken to a large conference room to discuss my concerns and then off to xrays. There was one standing xray for which the tech asked me to remove my stud earrings. She provided me a ziploc baggie so they would not get lost or have to be loose in my purse. Then we moved to another room where i got to sit down while she took several other xrays and photos inside my mouth. There was a big TV screen and a smaller one on the ceiling that they offered if I wanted to choose something to watch. The process moved fairly quickly. The dentist came in after the xrays and did an oral cancer screening as well as walking me through my xrays and recommended treatment plan. He did a cold test for some areas i had sensitivity and found the culprit. He even offered pain medication if I needed it. After a very brief wait in the lobby I was taken back again to discuss the treatment plan and the coverage through my insurance. The gentleman was very thorough about explaining the process, how long it would take, and even was helpful about choosing what procedures to book now versus at the beginning of next year to maximize my insurance benefits. He helped me get scheduled quickly. There was a $100 deposit for scheduling as it was a procedure for which they needed a specialist dentist to come in. Later in the evening, the dentist called me to check in on me and because I did not pick up, he even text messaged me. I look forward to ongoing treatment with this office and recommend for anyone looking to switch their dental provider. read more

Going to the dentist is not my favorite thing to do, but Dr Andy and the amazing staff that I have seen at Barsoum Dental Clinic are amazing. Today I had to get the temporary crown removed and the permanent one put on. I was not looking forward to it. But I was put at ease and the whole thing was over while I watched a portion of a movie. I really don't have words to express my gratitude and satisfaction with this practice! Long story short, a 10 year old onlay from one of my molars fell off while eating. Dr Barsoun's staff was able to get me in the very next morning. I had a thorough exam and was blessed to see Dr. Barsoun. He went ahead and just cemented the onlay back on after X-rays and cleaning the site. Instead of pushing for a crown, he felt it appropriate to try and reapply the onlay! With a warning that it may come out again and potentially need a crown, this saved me money and was an instant fix. I am in need of a deep cleaning (but I knew that). This practice is professional, gorgeous, and the care is exceptional. Having been in healthcare for 38 years, I know what's good and I know what's bad. This is a wonderful practice and you won't be disappointed. By the way Dr. Barsoun is absolutely one of the kindest most professional providers I've encountered. I've researched this office quite a bit on my hunt for a great dentist. Nobody likes going to the dentist so it was important for me that the reviews matched the actual experience. And thankfully, this place did just that. This experience was for a root canal procedure with a crown added for my molar. The entire procedure was done in 3 appointments. You don't necessarily need 3 appointments to complete everything but for me personally, I wanted it in 3 separate appointments. Some people are able to do it in just 2 appointments. I would ask just to confirm if you have any questions and they'll have the answers. Janice is truly a helpful and kind person, she helped me immensely with making the decision to get my root canal procedure done here. Andrew is also easy to communicate with in terms of scheduling appointments. From the moment I walked in, I was impressed by the size, amount of professionals on staff, atmosphere and cleanliness. I've never been to a dental office with so many people staffed! I appreciated the punctuality of the staff and I didn't have to wait long at all for my appointment. They had 2 clean and beautifully decorated gender neutral restrooms for the patients which I appreciated. A few years ago, I decided to try Dr. Barsoum's office after not having a cleaning for years based on the good reviews. I'm so glad I did because now I look forward to every single one of my appointments! The office is newly renovated and expanded and it is STUNNING!! I've had several cleanings, a few cavity fillings and a gum graft surgery here and each time I've always been comfortable without any pain and taken well care of by the staff. I had a cleaning today with Andrea and had a sensitive spot in my gum that has been causing me a lot of pain the last few days. Andrea did the entire cleaning without hurting me one bit and we didn't use any numbing or injections. Went to Barsoum Dental in Chino for a cleaning service, it was my first time visiting, and meeting Dr Farimah. I was made so comfortable and reassured I decided to have 5 of my front teeth turned into crowns. This was a long time coming since I've had fillings in almost all of them from an early age. I have very sensitive teeth and on average, when I get a crown, the sensitivity and pain last for 6/9 months. Needless to say I was worried. One of my front teeth started protruding and that was my final straw, I wanted to get this fixed. I had a consultation with Dr Farimah and she showed me options for teeth color and how the crowns would fix the position of the tooth. I arrived on the day of my appointment and was seen right on time, was made comfortable and they started the work. They numbed me up and told me to let them know if I could feel anything. Throughout the procedure they would take time to ask me if I was doing ok. It was a long procedure needless to say for 5 crowns but they stopped and gave me a 10 min break in the middle. Not because I asked but just to take a breath, and relax. That was appreciated my nervousness eased and wasn't too worried about the second half. Throughout someone stayed with me, also comforting! When I was finished the numbing still worked and they told me to take some ibuprofen if I experienced any pain or discomfort. Went home and waited, Nothing!! Some soreness from my mouth being open but no tooth pain!! No pain from that little thread they push in there to open the area for the temporaries. This was too good to be true. Dr Farimah called me that evening to see how I was doing! That has never happened to me before. I told her I was doing fine, and she told me to give the office a call if that changed. Waited for the day my new crowns arrived and again was made very comfortable. Then they placed the new crowns!! Wow they looked great!! No more protruding tooth no more ugly fillings incredible!! The crowns felt super soft no sharpness like I always had them!! I can't stop smiling :) so glad I trusted Dr Farimah to do the work she did a fantastic job, doing the procedure, advice on what color for the crowns, they blend so well with my other teeth, and making me comfortable. Throughout my experience with her nothing was ever pushed, merely told to consider. Office contacted my insurance to give me an upfront quote on my out off pocket which was much appreciated. Front staff was really kind seeing how nervous I was. Big shout out to Dr Farimah and her staff thank you so much!! This review was writing almost a month after all the work was done! No heat or cold sensitivity no painful gums, no pain, didn't even consider that was a possibility!! So glad I found this office! read more
