I had a broken zipper on a linen dress, it got fixed quickly. I inquired about alterations prices that were very affordable (~20$ for suit pants), I even had recommendations on washing some fancy dresses for my daughters. The ladies are very polite and knowledgeable. I would 100% recommend! read more

Very friendly, great service, great alterations but sometimes garments aren't ready on pick up day.

They clean with ! Exceptional work over 20 years for this household. Great value too.

I've been going to Riverside Cleaners for many years. I mostly use them for dry cleaning winter coats, puffy jackets & vests, and other clothing items that you can't really throw in the washing machine. I've also had them do done alterations for me as well. They've always done a great job and are very kind, friendly people. They're a little out of the way for me, but well worth the drive. I'd recommend them highly and am glad I found such an outstanding and reliable dry cleaner. read more

Dolores is a fabric expert. She does alterations, removes stains and has suggestions for all sorts of problems. She is honest. If she can't fix an item, she will tell you and give it back. The service is great and personable. I've been going there for years and highly recommend them. read more

This place don't even clean your clothes. They basically just press them and throw a plastic bag over them and hand them to you without actually being dry cleaned although you paid for full service. I have seen them do this to me and i stopped dealing with them ever since. Even the lady who hems your pants if you look closely when ironing them afterwards they are not actually an even cut, one leg is a bit longer then the other on both pairs I had them work on. Horrible service they shouldn't be allowed to do business anymore. As if they have a right to charge you full service and then take short cuts with your hard earned money. Do yourself a favor find another tailor or dry cleaner and stay away because they are ripping off their customers. read more

Needed to get my suit dry cleaned, so I did my research calling around and Riverside Cleaners was the best value. The good. You can leave it there and there's no pressure to grab it. They mentioned they had items still there after a year... What could be improved. They didn't call when it was ready. I called a day or two later to see if it was ready. Shoutout to Blanca (hopefully I'm getting the name right) for the friendly service! Easy parking in the plaza. read more

Nice people faulty system. According to owner it has happened before I was a regular customer until now. I dropped off the suit 1 month ago. Because of a complication, I couldn't go pick up the my items. I called and apologized for the delay I was assured it was no big deal. I misplaced my ticket & now My suit can not be found anywhere. I provided all the information. The ladies who work there are so nice. I was being patient and figured it was going to be found. The manager sent me a picture of a ticket from mid August. I went to a friend's wedding then yes, I picked up my suit then yes and dropped it off after the wedding to get it cleaned Unfortunate situation My suit was giving away to another customer or lost. Theirs nothing that can be done. Expensive suit GONE read more

I wanted to love this place as the owner is so sweet. I brought 2 items here on a Monday to get cleaned and one simple pair of thin pants to get a straight hem before Friday. The owner, a very sweet older woman took care of me and promised everything to be ready by the time I came late on Friday. Friday they CLOSE at 3 ok when I said 8d be by late in the day (online said they close 6pm). I rush to get everything Sat morning before my friend's wedding and call to give a heads up that I'm coming and don't have time to wait. My pants were hemmed with threads everywhere and they couldn't find my bridesmaid dress. Finally I get it and I'm SO RELIEVED. I pay and rush to our get ready place and see MY DRESS WAS NEVER CLEANED. It had oil stains on it! So basically all that stress over the dress was unnecessary. I could have worn that dress with the stain and all, and never went to the dry cleaners.. read more

Please never give these people your business. I have been going for years each time with the benefit of the doubt that it will get better. They have ruined over $1000 of designer clothes that I bring in for delicate cleaning. I had a $500 sweater shrink TWO sizes entirely and the only answer they could give me is that they don't know what happened. Today I picked up a very expensive designer jersey that I have only worn once. There are several spots of scratches throughout the front and back that I addressed and literally drove back and asked what they can do for me after messing up again. No refund, no apologies, these ladies have no idea how to do their job. I made it very clear dropping it off the price and value of the jersey just to receive it with material coming out of different spots. They even said no refund because they supposedly, "don't look for scratches, nothing we can do." I told myself I will never be back after today always feeling bad for the kind old lady but I don't want anyone to go through the hoops I had to jump for a normal cleaning. By far the worst dry cleaner I have ever been to, who would've thought dry cleaning was such a hard job to do right! Thanks for no refund and thanks for making me spend hundreds of dollars on new clothes that this horrible establishment ruined. read more

The nicest people, great service, very reasonable prices! Note store hours are wrong in yelp. M-F they close at 6p. Saturday at 3p

My husband needed some of his suits dry cleaned so we decided to give this place a try based on the reviews and location. We dropped off his suits and within a few days they were ready for pick up. The suits were dry cleaned very well and my husband was happy with their service. They are quite affordable and didn't over charge us either. Also they are very organized and were able to find his suits quite fast. We will be using Riverside Cleaners in the future for all our dry cleaning needs. read more

I was lucky to find this place. My grandfather passed right before Christmas and his funeral was right after Christmas. I knew nothing would be open on Christmas eve and Christmas, but I wasn't expecting things to be closed the day after. I drove to 6 different cleaners before finding this gem. The woman working, I never got her name, was so kind and had my husband's suit ready next day! Came out perfect. The cleaners I used to go to went out of business and because of this place saving us in a time of need I will be calling this cleaners my new regular place. 10/10 would recommend. read more

I always go to Riverside Cleaners for alternations. They do a great job in shorten my jeans and pants to the appropriate height for my short arse legs! The price is good as well, depending on how much work done - mine ranges from 10$ to 20$. They are super fast to respond and very communication in their process. Dropped off the jeans on Friday and picked it up on Monday. Speedy service read more

Dolores is absolutely amazing!! She's hemmed my dresses and and fixed a dress that was too big on me. I highly recommend her.

I am so happy to have found such a good service around the corner from my house I spilled red wine in a few spots on my dress and they were able to get it out! It took two visits, but I was stoked - much cheaper than buying a new dress. And I'll learn to drink white wine when I'm dancing ;-) read more

Dolores, how do I love thee? Let me count the ways! I take my clothes to ONLY her to be altered. She remembered my clothes, saying, "Hey, didn't you come with a pair of navy blue jeans a few months ago?" I even had them take in a dress at the shoulders and it fit like a dream! They do a great job on dry cleaning, from the regular stuff to a tricky jacket I have that I was worried would pill. It looked like new after they took care of it. When I brought aforementioned altered dress to be cleaned, I was very worried about the oil-based spots at the bust (see: my sloppy salad eating habits). Dolores told me not to worry and said, "I'm glad your pretty dress had such a good time!" and she was right. It's like they were never there. She recognized my very unusual last name and said, "I used to know a man with your last name, he came to my shop on 1st street in San Jose years ago..." I laughed, showed her a picture on my phone and said, "That's my dad!" It was 20 years ago. What an awesome memory. Her sweet disposition is the icing on the cake for me. I love her, love their cleaning, love their pricing, and don't go anywhere else. read more

They might be good for dry cleaning, but not for alterations. I purchased (2) outdoor curtains from Frontgate (https://www.frontgate.com/outdoor-solid-drapery-panel-in-sunbrella-26reg-3b-cocoa/425921?categoryId=20652&fromCart=true) for ~ $200. Each curtain was 50" wide x 84" long, and I needed to have each one cut to 47" long. I brought them to Riverside Cleaners on Tuesday and was told that they would be ready on Thursday. I went in on Thursday at noon and was told that they would be ready by 4:30... I am not marking them down for this since I wasn't 100% sure whether I was told that they would be ready by 4:30 on Thursday as opposed to anytime Thursday. I went back on Friday to pick them up and they were ready. When I got home, I noticed that one of the curtains was 46" long and the other was approximately 2" shorter?!?! WTF? Not only that, but the bottom of the curtain was not even straight!! I was amazed and mad as hell. Needless to say, I won't be going back.... EVER!!!! On a lighter note, the woman in the picture was nice. read more

Thanks fellow Yelpers!!!! You didn't let me down! I walked into this place Friday 5:45pm wanting to get my jeans hemmed! A sweet abuelita greeted me. She said "ok try on your jeans," I came out she asked me "will you be wearing heels, if so how high, etc." All the required questions before she chopped off my jeans!!! I really like her and she got 'em done for me Saturday noon! I was impressed!!!! Not only was the abuelita sweet but she was smiling and warm like a batch of warm chocolate chip cookies! I now know where to get my jeans and other stuff altered! INDIAN CLOTHES (Update Oct 10th, 2011) I brought a sari here to be dry cleaned and the lady did an awesome job...all the embroidery and threading was perfect and nothing was missing or out of place. She is more reasonably priced than any other place I've been too. Love this place! read more

I came here to clean my wedding dress and to preserve it. The lady who helped me was super friendly. It warms my heart just thinking about her. Very personable and loving. She did a great job in preserving my wedding dress. My dress is really REALLY puffy; it has layers of soft organza all over so it was probably really hard to fold down, but she did a really good job in fitting that dress into the box. It also had a Swarovski crystal in the middle which she cleaned really well. It's been a few months since I've had this done, but I think the cleaning and preserving came to be about $200. I would have given her 5 stars, but the first time I came back to pick up my dress, she said it wasn't ready. When she gave me my receipt, she didn't ask me when I'd like to pick it up. She just said "next week", so it could be any day. I specifically told her the day I'll be back and she says it'll be ready by then, so I assumed it would be, only to find out she needed a few more days. That's really no problem since I'm in no rush to get it back (wedding's over!), but the drive was 20 minutes each way and that's gas wasted. read more

Sweet lady. $10 for men's suit, which is pretty good. $18 for a dress which is way too expensive in my opinion!

I brought my tuxedo here for my upcoming wedding and my fiancée brought her wedding dress. No one could Come close to their price! This will be my go to spot from now on. No questions. This mom and pop place is fantastic! I've been getting my clothes dry cleaned and altered here for years and they've never let me down. They'll even try to remove tough stains more than once at no charge-:) Usually they get it out the first time. I just got a pair of Lucky Brand jeans that cost me over $100 after tax hemmed there as they were too long. I tried them on earlier and my sexy jeans are now the perfect length! Also, the sweater that I'm wearing for a YEE tomorrow has all the ugly fuzzies removed so it looks like new again! Dolores is very nice and friendly and the prices here aren't too bad. If you need your clothes altered or dry cleaned and you live nearby, go here and support your local mom and pop shops! They're great and always have your clothes ready when they say they'll have it ready-:) read more

Just moved here 1 month ago. Needed a "family" feeling type of cleaners, not a super commercialized one that robs your wallet. Read all these great reviews about Riverside and walked in, expecting to receive the 5-stars that everyone's been giving this place. Well, done and DONE. Dolores not only altered all my clothes quickly and very inexpensively but her warm personality was a special bonus. Picked up my alterations after 3 days and what did I find to my surprise??.....they were dry-cleaned too!! WHO DOES THAT??!! I've never gotten alterations back crispy clean like this. The norm is always crumpled, pieces of string everywhere and bagged up in its original fashion. THANK YOU Dolores for being so wonderful and I'm SO happy I found this place!! read more

Long overdue review. This concerns my wedding dresses getting cleaned. Came to drop off my wedding gowns - both of them. One was white (sorry don't know fabric) with chiffon detailing and beading, the other was a traditional cheongsam made of red and gold silk. Basically, it took 3 weeks to get my dresses back because apparently the chiffon detailing all fell off and the owner (?) was gluing it back on for me. The detailings were also falling apart and broken/torn/parts missing when I got the dress back. Yes the detailings were glued back on, but they looked miserably wilted. As for the cheongsam, the entire dress had frayed and pilled. The silk was no longer smooth and had little fabric hairs coming out and became fuzzy. The worse part was that when my mom picked it up, and she was obviously shocked to see its condition, the lady at the counter told her that I knew about it! As if! The last time I went in there was to ask if I could pick them up and was told they were still gluing on the detailings. I hate the fact that they had to lie about the condition of the dress to my mom just to get her to take them away so they don't have to deal with it. I'd rather they came clean and were honest in their mistake. I wish I never took my dresses here to get cleaned. Honestly, brides, you can clean your dresses yourself if you didn't completely trash it on your wedding day. read more

I really love this dry cleaners because they do it all, with great quality and fair prices - it's that simple. I have had pants hemmed, dresses shortened, zippers replaced, shirts starched and same day dry cleaning done by Riverside. Good things happen to you when you get your clothes dry cleaned at Riverside: -I called at 8:30am to see if they could clean my white suit jacket the SAME DAY because I needed it for an interview at 1pm. They had it done by 11:30am, I changed into my interview clothes in their dressing room with my freshly cleaned and pressed jacket, then went to my interview. I GOT THE JOB! -I found a dress from Macy's that was perfect for being a wedding guest but it was too long. Naturally I took it to Riverside Cleaners, got it hemmed and when I wore it to the wedding, I got free drinks all night, even though it was a no host bar! Dolores and her staff have really earned my business by consistently delivering on the small stuff, so I have no qualms about giving her my wedding dress to be cleaned, even though I got married last year. Yes, it's a little unsettling that I haven't had it cleaned yet, but it took me this long to find Dolores and I basically refused to take it to someone I don't know and/or don't trust. Also the price is great ($55+ depending on the wedding dress) in relation to all the other expenses associated with weddings. I trust Riverside Cleaners, because they've earned it time and time again. read more

I dropped off a blouse on Wed morning and was told it would be ready for me by the next afternoon. One day? Seriously? It cost a little more than what I'm used to paying at my dry cleaners on the peninsula but considering how close this is to my house and how sweet the abuelita working there is, it's worth the price. read more

I yelped "same day dry cleaners in san jose" at about noon today and started frantically calling the closest businesses to see if they could accommodate same day toDAY on a suit and tie on such ridiculously short notice. Understandably, the ten I called all practically laughed at me and explained that I was about 3-4 hours too late for today. I got Diamond Cleaners to recommend a place that might be able to help, but the referral, sadly, did not pan out. Figuring I had simply hit a wall, I threw the suit into the car and went limping over to Riverside Cleaners. Two weeks ago they hemmed and pressed all of my work uniforms for a fantastic price, but I wasn't even sure they did same day. Walked in (noted the "same day" sign on the door) and WITHOUT BLINKING Dolores wrote up my tag. I asked her, "You mean you're not going to throw me out??" and she smiled and said, "Oh no, it's okay! We close at 6 so see you before then!" LIFESAVERS! I am officially devoted to Riverside Cleaners on Hamilton Avenue. :D read more
