Konen's was an absolute life saver and they didn't charge us a dime! My son called me late…read moreThursday night, his vehicle broke down an hour from home at Newport on the Levee. He met some friends there at the movies. He left his vehicle in the parking lot and got a friend to bring him home. My husband is night shift so the next morning he came home from working all night, hooked the truck to the trailer grabbed the wench box and straps to get my son's car before time ran out on the parking space. When we got there the car was in a tight spot and there was no way to back the 20' trailer up straight on, best he could do was 90 degrees and my son's vehicle wouldn't come out of park. My husband managed to wench it out of the spot and on the trailer but it was crooked and the back passenger tire was barely on the trailer and since it wouldn't come out of park, there was no rolling it off and trying again. It was very unsafe, we would not be able to make it home like that. He said we'll drive to the closest garage and borrow a floor jack (with wheels) to put under the rear axle and straighten it on the trailer. He slowly started driving towards home and I started calling garages near me. I couldn't believe it three garages said no they wouldn't help-it's too much of a liability. I kept trying. Konen's Pittstop in Belleview, Ky said yes they would help, now we just had to make it there. When we arrived a man came out spoke to my husband and brought out the floor jack, positioned my son's vehicle squarely on the trailer and wouldn't take anything for helping. I can't describe the gratitude and relief we felt. We could now safely make the trip home. We later found out the man who helped us was Konen's Pittstop owner Rob Pitts. Thank you again Mr. Pitts for your kindness.

Mark's Garage is close to my house, but never had the need or opportunity to use them, until…read morerecently.. Thanksgiving Eve, electronics started going wonky on the way home.. by the time I hit Alexandria Pike, none of my instruments or lighting worked... rolled into Mark's about 5:55 pm, after closing time, but Mark was still there and stored my car inside until they could get to it on Monday.. Just a battery replacement needed, and price was very reasonable. Couple of weeks ago, stopped in with an older Acura that had idling problems.. After diagnosis, low coolant, which after inspection turned out to be a bad radiator. Fixed promptly and again, very reasonable pricing. This week.. my son's (very) old BMW had severe vibration in front end.. Usually, given the car's age and obscurity, we take this to a "backyard" mechanic on the West Side. However, it wasn't safe to drive that far. Asked Mark's if they could handle it, and they agreed.. Seized brake caliper.... all fixed, and spotted another couple of problems, which were fixed after proper notification to me.. Three visits in the last three months... all good experiences, great work and reasonable/low prices. They really seem to know their stuff, and they invest in the latest diagnosis technology to get the right answers, instead of throwing parts at the car.. (the tech on my car was Greg.. He calls personally to discuss the problem).

When a car is having trouble starting, you get it to a repair shop before it doesn't start at all…read more We brought my friend's car to Mark's after noticing a pattern of stalling. While the problem was happening for a week, the technician said he couldn't replicate the stalling, everything was fine, and sent us on our way. Of course, the next day, the car was back to its same stalling shenanigans. A few days pass and the car eventually dies in a parking lot. AAA was dispatched to give us a jump. They first tested the battery - not the culprit. Plus it's only a little over a year old; car batteries last 3-5 years. The AAA serviceman jacked up the car and engaged the starter manually. The car powered up and we drove it to Mark's Garage to replace the starter, as diagnosed by AAA. "It looks like you need a new battery. Contact AAA to give you a free one." We were told this repeatedly by the Mark's technician after requesting they fix the starter. AAA tested the battery three times; it was good. Besides, why would a business, who can sell us a battery, tell us to get a free one from AAA? Something was fishy. We declined, and told Mark's to fix the starter. Then the technician told us he had to rule out a faulty battery in order to work on the starter. To do this, we had to purchase a new battery to "test." Wait...what?! Why would we need to buy a new battery prior to a diagnosis? Shouldn't repair shops have a test battery available? What happens with our brand new battery when they find out our old battery was fine and the starter needs replacing? Then we're out $200 for a part we didn't need! My friend told the technician, "I will pay you to install the battery. However, if the battery is not the solution and the car breaks down again, you will be fixing this problem free-of-charge." The car sat at their garage for the past week, not repaired. We hired a tow truck and had the car transported from Mark's to another garage. The new repair shop agreed it was a faulty starter, installed a new part, and we had the car back and running the following day. My friend had the impression that she was given the run-around because she is female; an unfortunate, but often true occurrence at auto repair shops. If you're a lady looking to service a car, avoid Mark's Garage.
