I called on the phone. Guy very condescending with such an attitude when I asked about pricing for a brake adjustment "well how you expect me to tell you if I can't see it". I took it either way perhaps I was misinterpreting it. Went in and try to explain dude just grab my bike and hang it didn't hear a word. I told him I try to assembled it yesterday since it just got delivered and I messed up with the brakes. Dude nods his head and says never in his 20 years of experience seen someone mess w the brakes. I told him that I also had a light that goes on the bike but didn't come with the price he interrupted me mid way saying "that's not my priority i need to fix the brake not worrying about some light" idk sounding a bit rude. He said I got lucky I didn't mess it up worse and that it's usually $15 for a brake fix (even tho he couldn't tell me that on the phone) but for having to teach me he'll charge me $20 I said fine. I was about to pay and dude says "it will be $25 flat" I said I thought you said $20 and dude rolls his eyes and says "okay we could do $20 if that's what you want" wtf???? OPEN SUNDAYS! I was riding on the Kern River trail and my rear sidewall started to pop out and cause the rear wheel to wobble. Luckily George was only a few miles away. I made it to the shop 30 minutes before they opened. George saw me waiting out front and he opened the shop early to look at my bike. George replaced both of the tires on my 30 year old bike and as usual talked with me the whole time. It is so fun talking with George, this is the second time I have been to Riverbend and he talks with me like we have known each other for years! While my bike was on the stand George noticed that the brakes and gear shifting mechanisms were a bit out of whack.... George did a few minor tweaks and he explained what he was doing and why.... At the end he wiped down my bike and now it's a 30 year old NEW BIKE! George never tried to sell me anything and he commented that my old bike was great.... He showed me his old bike that he uses. My bike is probably in better shape than it was new over 30 years ago! I highly recommend Riverbend Bikes and George!!! read more

He'll invite you up to the window of his workshop and show you the adjustments he's making on your ride. If it's something you can do yourself easily next time, he may even teach you how, and if it's something really small, he may not even charge you. He'll make money off of you eventually, since he's made a loyal customer who'll be coming back for the necessities of cycling. I highly recommend this shop for your cycling needs. George is great! My husband and I went in with our grandsons scooter, because the handle bars were slipping down, and wouldn't stay up. I called the bike store and George answered; we explained the situation and he stated; " lm not sure if I can fix the problem, just bring it in and we will go from there. We brought the scooter in to the store. This very personable and knowledgeable man behind the counter took the scooter and said "well we are going to figure this out"! He did!! He had to pull out a piece of metal that was broken off that was supposed to support the handle bars and drilled through the already existing 3 holes and bolted it with a professional screw, and might I add, it is still adjustable and he did it in 30 minutes, while we waited. He showed us the problem and adjusted everything and made it work! It's better than when we brought it! Much sturdier! This guy is amazing Nana and Papa will never go anywhere else for bike or scooter adjustments! Our first time going to a bike repair shop was better than going to buy a new bike! My husband bought a bike at a big box retailer. The store employee put it together in the stock room. The gearshift was not smooth, the handlebars felt weird, and the chain seemed to be slightly off. After riding the bike a few times it was clear something was off. We chose this shop because We heard good things through word-of-mouth and Yelp reviews confirmed it.
