We found ourselves in Florence unexpectedly after the campsite we had booked cancelled on us. River Roasters was a quick walk from our campsite at Port of Siuslaw and boy am I glad that we decided to stop here. The coffee was really good and they offered a variety of baked goods as well as gifts and household items for sale. I got the sense that many of the people eating here were locals, which is always a good sign. I got a large coffee and a Maple Pecan scone. My girlfriend got a Bacon, Potato, Egg, and cheese wrap, which seemed to be one of the few hot options they offer. It was delicious despite being pre-made. If I go back, I would definitely try some of the other biscuits and scones they had for sale. They all looked delicious and unfortunately I was not all that hungry. PRO TIP: Stop in for a gift to take home or send to a loved one. River Roasters has a great selection of art and gifts that seemed unusual for a coffee shop this size. read more

What cute coffee shop! Coffee was delicious. My husband had a half decaf half regular pour over. It was so smooth and delicious. I had a matcha latte which was also perfectly done. My husband had their apple fritter and let me tell you it was soooooo good! And so was their bacon Gouda scone. Loved the scone because it was just a tiny bit sweet which is what I like. I stopped here with my boyfriend on a Wednesday morning. We ordered black coffee, a Mexican mocha, and an apple fritter. The black coffee was good. The mocha was just okay-- somewhat chalky and not very sweet. The apple fritter was the star of the show; I would go as far to say it was one of the best apple fritters I have ever eaten. The inside of the cafe is really cute and has tons of cozy indoor seating. I believe there is seating outside, as well. We took our coffees to go and took a walk along the riverfront, which is nice if the weather is good. The cafe also has little knick-knacks for sale. read more

They used a darker roast than I like, still ok, just darker. The barista was quite busy and very efficient, extremely hard worker. Wow! This cozy little coffee shop right off the river is a gem located in a quaint part of town. It's popular with both locals and visitors with a nice view of the river and bridge. The coffee and mango fruit smoothie were terrific! These were some of the best drinks on our trip! The service was also above and beyond our expectations. We had asked for a medium roast coffee and they didn't have one available so they were going to freshly roast some for us. They offered some advice on local breakfast places. There's a small selection of bakery items, little nooks for seating, fireplace, and fun gifts/funny cards for purchase inside. Outside there's benches with fantastic views of the river and bridge for that picture perfect moment. Please note that there is no parking allowed for RVs, trailers and motorhomes so you may have to walk a little if you are traveling through these types of vehicles. read more

It certainly has a community vibe, where people seem to know each other and it's no big deal for folks to hang out for long periods of time. Looking for a brick and mortar coffeehouse, a place to stretch my legs and use the loo. Something about this place at the Port of Siuslaw on Google maps drew me from much farther north on the 101. I almost missed the turn off. If you're approaching from the north that right turn comes up quick and if you miss it you're screwed and have to cross the Siuslaw Bridge. I actually did miss the turn but a momentary hole in traffic allowed me to do a naughty and I made it back sans bridge crossing. What I came upon was a friendly and cute riverfront area. Florence, Oregon. There are shops and such along Bay Street and plenty of parking. What I found at River Roasters was a place to get a tasty espresso drink and something to eat if you wish, a clean and comfy loo, a thoughtfully-stocked gift shop (sensory delights such as quality lotions, moleskin journals, insulated cups, and much more), cozy interior seating, plenty of outdoor riverside seating, plus sidewalk seating. Happy to have found a new waterfront community to explore! Check it out if you're cruising the Oregon coast. There's a campground here as well. read more
