The shop had a wide variety of what my daughter would call hippie clothing, jewelry, novelty gifts and Art in the upstairs (all proceeds are donated, she doesn't take a cut). She found a skirt and a tie died pair of pants. I found some sterling silver Peace earrings. Her items are of good quality and she's been in business for 21 years. I found a couple of cute Cross handcrafted pieces by an artist out of San Francisco. I don't have a pic of them because she asked me if they were GIFTS and when I told her yes, she wrapped them, put them in a craft colored gift bag complete with curled ribbon and a flashy sticker with her boutique name. The owner is very kind. If you plan on making this a regular stop make sure to get a punch card and when the punchcard is full it's $20 toward merchandise!!! If you're looking to explore the area, she will also make recommendations on where to go and what to see. Ck this place out.

We didn't see any employees pumping gas while we were there. They have snack and beverage vending machines available as well. Overall, we got what we needed, gas! The pump we used had a crappy lever on it. It kept clicking off like the tank was full, but we only had about a quarter tank when we stopped in. We ended up putting $80 of gas in the tank, but had to hold the pump lever the entire fill-up. A bit annoying.

I cannot even begin to tell you how top notch the quality of this clothing is - it is extremely well made and super comfortable. The selection is not super broad but contains t-shirts, hoodies, sweatshirts and pants for adults and children. It also offers a few more options for your wearing pleasure, it is well worth your time to check out. The decor of the store is pretty mellow and earthy with a hip sort of modern vibe. The clerk was burning some incense as we entered and it smelled incredible. The best part of the stop at 101 Local was the staff. The clerk on duty was genuine and friendly, offering a sincere "welcome to 101 Local, how are you today?". She was attentive not just to us but to each and every person that came in, managing to juggle a dozen customers at once and maintaining her positive ways. I will be back on my next trip to Newport - this is the type of store I like.
