Fantastic ambiance in the little shop. They have a nice smelling, earthy, PNW centered, slightly hippy feel. Each visit I've been warmly greeted and offered a free cup of beer. I bought a darling, well made hat that I quickly cinched down; the gusts along the beach never blew it off. Pros- I LOVE that all the clothes are made in the USA and then the designs are printed locally. The material is high quality and clothes are ridiculous soft. I enjoy the PWN theme everywhere... rather than a generic beach stores full of cheap imports that could be in any coastal shop. They offer tshirts, hoodies, sweat pants, hats, keychains, sun glasses and such. Cons- The clothing selection is very limited. Options for women's shirts for example consisted of one, and it was a crop top. I don't think I can pull that off anymore. ;) The prices are higher than the other beachy stores in the neighborhood.... like women's sweatshirts for $55. I'd rather have lower prices than free beer. 101 Local is a Newish shop in downtown Newport (opened in May 2017) and they offer American made clothing that has various designs on them (mainly the 101 Local logo) screened on using ink from Newport Oregon. I cannot even begin to tell you how top notch the quality of this clothing is - it is extremely well made and super comfortable. The selection is not super broad but contains t-shirts, hoodies, sweatshirts and pants for adults and children. It also offers a few more options for your wearing pleasure, it is well worth your time to check out. The decor of the store is pretty mellow and earthy with a hip sort of modern vibe. The clerk was burning some incense as we entered and it smelled incredible. The best part of the stop at 101 Local was the staff. The clerk on duty was genuine and friendly, offering a sincere "welcome to 101 Local, how are you today?". She was attentive not just to us but to each and every person that came in, managing to juggle a dozen customers at once and maintaining her positive ways. I will be back on my next trip to Newport - this is the type of store I like. read more

I was visiting my boyfriend, who is the score of the Oregon and we always come to Newport for it a little vacation. We walked him, not knowing that they had been there for several years. Staff was amazing and super helpful. We got to drink beer while we walked around the shop and it was super cool. I've never had that experience for I do recommend this establishment super clean and clothes are very comfortable! read more

This shop is a rad die-hard surf shop. Stacked with as many custom made surfboards as he can fit in the place. I drool over the Ponto surfboards every time I go in there. Big variety of sizes and styles for every level of surfer and I hear he gives the best surf lessons in Oregon. I can definitely see the stoke on everyones face who knows Russ. I love to visit the shops on the bay front and Nye beach when I come home to Oregon for a visit. This past June I took a much better look at Inca Alpaca store and purchased a blanket and a cape. Now that the weather is finally cooling here in Colorado, I am getting use out of the blanket at night and I am so warm. Same thing with the cape when I wear it out in the cool. I just ordered a few things that will make wonderful Christmas gifts as well as adding a couple of new items for myself. I am expecting a new grandchild in a few months and I thought that a perfect gift would be a beautiful alpaca rug for baby to lay on and line the stroller or other uses. I think that my son and daughter in law will love it! read more
