Much more of a touristy feel than antique shop. They do have the setup of individual booths with a variety of items: coastal decor/items, random collectibles, some antiques, old records/dvds, figurines...but with a lot of touristy stuff mixed throughout. I'd say if you're looking for antiques as we were it's probably not going to be a gem of a stop, but it's a decent sized building full of stuff to wander through should that be what you're seeking. read more

I am in old copper pot junkie. In fact, that's about the only sort of antique I have any interest in. I particularly love 18th century pots and pans, because they use a different method of shipping then became come in then 20th century. Anyway, my sickness means that I will run in and out of different antique stores when I'm on vacation looking to see if I can score. It's not so easy to find old copper in antique stores anymore. There are two reasons for this, the first being that they remain really popular with a small subset of the population who constantly raid places. The other reason is that most antique stores these days seem to be in malls with lots of different owners of the stalls. So you always have to hunt and peck and the person working the counter really knows or cares to help you in your search. When I went into Pirates plunder, and even when I spoke with the woman on the phone before going, she was, in comparison, super helpful. She told me what she knew they had, and what she didn't. I got three great pieces, and she was so glad that I found stuff I wanted. Plus, the prices were quite fair. Nice going! read more

Such a FANTASTIC place !! Seriously, it's like a hedge maze of awesomeness, I could be there for hours. They have something for everyone, from various collectibles (cars, animal statues, fantasy dragon and knight statues, etc), crazy steampunk hats, vinyls, comics, bracelets, posters, fancy necklaces, seriously if you can think of it, it will be here. This is an antique mall, the kind where various sellers rent space to sell their collectibles and vintage stuff. It's a large complex (maybe 100 stalls?) and you'll find quite a variety of offerings. Some stalls seem to have a theme or mostly have one type of item (ie- books, faux vintage signs) and others are completely random. Even though it's fairly large I didn't see anything that interested me. Then again, antiquing isn't my thing. My sister bought a vase she liked though. They have the pirate theme going on with various pirate statues around the store and a special pirate room where they sell pirate toys, costumes and collectibles. read more

I looooove shops like this. It's just an indoor flea market but the individual booths don't have anyone manning them (just the cashier up front), so it's more like an ordinary antique and thrift store but with even more of a variety it seemed. There's such a variety, I don't even know where I'd start if I were to list everything we looked at. In places like this it's pretty standard to get a mix of what you consider trash and what you consider to be treasure, and Pirates Plunder is no different but to me that's what makes it fun. We left with a whiskey glass and an old ashtray (can't remember how much the glass was, $5 at most, and the ashtray was only $2 which is a little less than what I usually pay for old casino ashtrays so I was excited about that). It took us awhile to walk through the whole place because it's surprisingly big inside, and I still feel like I didn't spend enough time. Sadly since I was traveling I didn't want to buy anything too big or spend too much money, but I'd absolutely go back again and really hope to at some point! read more

Soooo much better this time round!! More vintage/antiques and less made in china trinkets. I mean those items are still there but the ratio between the 2 is more balanced. There are some crafts as well in the mix here and there. The customer service/cashier was also very helpful and courteous. read more

A large building (think ? old warehouse?) which is home to dozens of small stalls, in the tradition of most antique malls. Huge variety of offerings: antique/vintage/collectible items, mostly fair prices, very helpful staff. I really hate to write this review since Pirates Plunder use to our absolute favorite place to shop before they changed management. Over the years we have literally spent thousands and thousands of dollars on antique, unique, fun and eclectic items. There were so many unique and interesting items we literally wanted to visit as often as possible. It was a fun store to visit, the store always had a great atmosphere with old time music playing, the staff was always very friendly and accommodating, helpful but never pushy and there was always lots of fantastic treasures to find. Their inventory seemed to be ever changing so you could always find lots unique and interesting items on almost every visit which usually took hours and hours to look through the entire store just to make sure you didn't miss anything! Being a long-term customer it is easy to tell the current Pirates Plunder online photo gallery is from many many years ago and not current. They really should update their photo gallery from time to time so customers know what to expect! In our opinion, the atmosphere, customer service and quality of merchandise has declined so much we are no longer interested in being a customer of this establishment. Really sad because it use to be our favorite store! read more

I need more time!!!! 1.5 hours of wondering around here = NOT ENOUGH TIME. This flea market is HUGEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE and you can find so many stuff in here. Stuff that are not antiques to stuff that are antiques. You will find dolls, stamps, baseball cards, plates, silverware, kitchen stuff, old signs, clothes, books, salt & pepper shakers, vinyl records, and basically just knick knacks everywhere. Prices are reasonable and you won't want to get out of this place. Thanks to Pirates Plunder now I'm starting to collect ethnic clowns figurines. They are so adorable and unique. It feels more like treasure hunting and I need more of that in my life. read more

Best local place to get both one of a kind souvenirs and also the standard (China made) types at a better price than the local gift shops. Just be prepared to be sucked in for like an hour once you dare to enter, and don't expect everything to be super cheap nor the prices really negotiable. I think it's on par with deals you'd find with the likes of Amazon or Wayfair, yet being able to touch and feel things, such as decorative items that double as something functional, well, it makes it better than online shopping for sure. It's the difference between knowing you're getting a solid piece verses hoping an internet purchase doesn't arrive in the mail all broken. It certainly helps for determining how heavy or quality-made stuff is to buy in person. We'll be back for sure! read more

Pirate's Plunder is like a treasure hunt without a map. We had so much fun looking at the classic vinyl records, old-school toys, and all the great things they have to look at. They earned an extra star for the awesome cashier who gave my son treasures from the chest at the front of the store. A very odd shop. I'm not sure what I was expecting when I pulled the car in here, but with the pirate theme so prominent on the outside, I had to check it out. It is really a antique mall, quite like Stars Antique Mall in Portland. And Pirate Plunder is a big one. I'm not an antique aficionado, so I realize I'm not their target audience, but even so- wandering around in here was kind of fun for awhile. read more

Pirate's Plunder is pretty awesome and you could easily spend a few hours in there, even with kids. It's basically a big indoor swap meet except the booths are unmanned. If you knew exactly what you were looking for, you could probably find it for cheaper online, but this is where you find something you didn't know you were looking for. Or you appreciate the adventure of looking! It truly is vast and there are some amazing deals here as well. From signage to instrumentation, collectibles, jewelry and hobby supplies, artwork and clothing, camping gear, kitsch, furniture and dishes, you name it and it's probably here. They also have a whole pirate store full of new pirate themed goods. It's a guaranteed good time! read more

The people working here are so friendly, they welcomed me as I came in the door, and were nice to everyone... especially kids, they really make them feel invited. Mostly junk. With as many stalls as there are, you'd expect to find a better selection. Although most of the stalls have "antiques," some of them are selling the same new and cheapo merchandise you can find at Big Lots or Dollar Tree. I would not go back. read more

Our family has been long time customers of Pirates Plunder and we have always been amazed at all the unusual and eclectic items we found. On our last visit to the Oregon Coast we again visited this store and was surprised by how much the store and merchandise has changed. Now you will find many spaces filled with items made in CHINA which reminds us of a retail gift store and not a Antique & Collectible Mall. As we were browsing through the store there was absolutely no customer service, basically you are left to roam through while employees stood at the front counter waiting for people to come to them. On our previous visits, the owners would come through the store and politely asked if we needed assistance, plus they were extremely helpful and accommodating to our personal needs. We understand it is a large store but it seems like the current employees and management does not care about customer service or helping customers while they are shopping. . Yes there are still some spaces with antique and collectible items but I would guess less than 50% of the store. There were also several spaces that seem to be vacated that are now filled with junk furniture, certainly not antiques or collectibles. We even noticed some items with Dollar Store / UPC Code stickers still on their original boxes being sold, unbelievable! If you are regular customers of this establishment it will be easy to see the changes that have taken place. It is doubtful we will continue our relationship with this store, there are to many other quality Antique & Collectible Malls to choose from on the Oregon Coast. Personally I prefer Antique & Collectible Malls who only allow antique or collectible items and does not allow their store to be filled with items manufactured in CHINA. I can't believe this place only has 5 reviews as this is the most incredible shop I've been to in my entire life. The closest to compare would be Urban Ore in Berkeley, California and even that can't hold a candle. My husband and I spent an hour and a half here - it could have easily been twice that. We spent $85 for a 8 vintage pieces of glassware, from nautical seamen figurines to Morton salt mugs (all made in Japan or England), two pirate flags, and a tin robot dog. The selection is outstandingly varied and even overwhelming - there are two wings and a ton of smaller rooms filled with goods. Don't even get me started on their extensive Pyrex collection! The prices are unbelievable - incredibly reasonable and fair (they would be inflated 50-100% at a shop in the Bay Area). The owners are really great, and the son came around twice to unload my arms and hold my goods at the register for me. My husband is not a big antique/glassware kind of guy, but he was blown away and thoroughly amused. I will definitely be visiting Pirate's Plunder the next time I'm in town! Wish we had one of these in the Bay! read more

This place goes on forever! We had checked out a few other antique stores and were unimpressed, this one blew them all out of the water. I loved the cheesy pirate theme too. We ended up leaving with a Japanese glass float and I was happy to spend an hour or so looking through the booths. read more

This place is fantastic it has a multitude of different items just like a pirate ship with lots and lots of goodies. If going to New Port Oregon make sure to make a stop here and take your children they will surely find something to catch their eye. If there were 10 thumbs-up I'd give it a 10 !
