Great breakfast spot when departing Hilton Head. Food was fresh and excellent. Service was quick. Best for small parties of 4. Bread pudding was delicious.

Found this gem through Yelp while traveling in Bluffton for a family reunion. The cafe was New Orleans themed pictures and decor all around. It was tough for me to decide what to order and I ended up getting the Cajun omelet with crawfish, and cheesy grits. Super tasty, they don't skip on the crawfish either. The grits were perfect and I contemplated getting order of it Overall a great experience!

Ugly egg burrito and cheese grits

This has to be one of the best brunch places I've been to since we moved here. It's a very small cafe with a New Orleans vibe with a nice jazzy background. The inside was great. Just a few tables with easy jazz playing and it was easy to make conversation without having to raise your voice. The service was great, they were very attentive and nice. Now to the reason we go out. The food was incredible. They have a wide selection of southern style Cajun foods and they all look and sound amazing. I picked the ugly egg burrito. It was wonderfully made and has great flavor. The presentation was top notch for a 13$ meal. It filled me up! Wife got the veggie omelette. She was very satisfied. She even tried some of my cheese grits for the first time and they were great! I can't recommend this place enough. It's small tho so call ahead or go early.

It doesn't feel corporate or manufactured at all. More like you've stumbled into somebody's lovingly chaotic backyard dinner party where the food just happens to be genuinely top-tier. The mismatched charm, handwritten feel, and warm atmosphere are part of what makes it so special. There's this brilliant contrast between the laid-back hole-in-the-wall vibe and the seriously refined cooking coming out of the kitchen. We started with the fried green tomatoes which were incredibly tender, fried perfectly, and drizzled with a lovely house-made ranch. The sweet house pickles alongside were such a good touch. We also each had a cup of she crab soup which was beautifully seasoned and packed with tonnes of crab morsels. For mains, we shared the shrimp and grits and completely understood why the recipe has won awards, including being recognised as the 3rd best in the world. The recipe is rooted in traditional Lowcountry cooking but elevated with layers of flavour that somehow still feel comforting and homemade. The grits were unbelievably creamy, and the shrimp and sausage were perfectly cooked with fantastic flavour throughout. We also split the seafood purloo with blackened grouper, and it was equally impressive. Everything was cooked perfectly and tasted incredibly fresh without trying too hard to be fancy. What really made the experience though was the staff. Everyone went above and beyond. They took time to chat with us about the area, paced the courses perfectly so nothing felt rushed, and by the end we were leaving with handshakes feeling more like guests than customers. Places like this are getting harder to find. We'll absolutely be back and would recommend it to anyone looking for authentic Lowcountry food served by genuinely wonderful people.

The bartenders are extremely busy yet make you feel welcome and know their menu and drinks very well. The service was exceptional, as was the food. We enjoyed a salad with mahi and delicious cocktails, and wine selection. On our second visit, we sat in the main dining room. This was as enjoyable as the bar, but a little bit more private. The server was well-versed in the menu and was able to provide helpful suggestions. The meal was well timed and the service was exceptional from all staff. We enjoyed the duck and the triple tail/scallops. I also had a cup of sheet crab soup and found it to be the best version on the island. While this restaurant is not cheap, it is extremely well priced for the quality of the food and the sides and salad that a company most dishes. I'm looking forward to returning to Hilton Head specifically to eat here. What an enjoyable experience!
