The X-rays gave the unexpected diagnosis of Scoliosis in the lowest part of my spine. I was shocked and nervous. Luckily, mine was diagnosed sooner rather than later. Dr. O'Toole and his staff were lovely. He suggested core strengthening and flexibility exercises. I requested guidance on exercises and a referral to Novant Health Rehab, in the same building. My Physical Therapy Team is Erika and Ryan. They explained that this won't cure Scoliosis but my strengthened muscles will better support my spine and hopefully slow the progress. Erika did my evaluation and explained the first batch of exercises and gave me an elastic band and printed instructions with illustrations, so I could also do them at home. She was so nice and helpful. Ryan has been doing the actual PT with me and I've been twice. He added more exercises and gave me the revised printed instructions with illustrations. Ryan has also been very nice, efficient and thorough with explaining new exercises and he patiently answers all my questions. I do my at home exercises everyday and my flexibility and core strength is improving steadily. I really appreciate the spacious and clean facility and all it's equipment and tools, especially because it is close to home. The overall atmosphere of the PT area, other staff and other patients is very pleasant. I actually enjoy the appointments. After every appointment they update MyChart so I can read all their notes about my progress. I hope you don't, but if you should ever need physical rehabilitation, for health or injuries, I highly recommend them.

I love it when I find excellent medical care, and that is exactly what I have found at Novant…read moreHealth Rehabilitation Center. I have been receiving services from the team at this center since October 2020 when I had rotator cuff and bicep surgery. All along the way, the entire staff have been encouraging and professional, and I have grown to trust them. Honestly, despite it being a little painful, I enjoy my forty-five minute appointments, and I notice that their other clients seem to feel the same. The Rehab Center is located in the same building with Novant Health Orthopedics and Sports Medicine, and share the same beautiful, clean, and comfy lobby, reminiscent of a log cabin. Once you enter the door, Kenisha, the receptionist, is just off to the right. She has a welcoming personality that is infectious. She will take your temperature and make sure you are prepared for your appointment. The staff all wear PPE and follow COVID-19 guidelines, and clients are expected to do the same. Kenisha seems to know all the clients, and I enjoy seeing them come in and give her updates. My physical therapists are Brittany and Erin. They are phenomenal! These two work wonders on me and are helping me get motion back into my right arm, slowly but surely. It's important to have a decent personality with any job dealing with the public, and these ladies have personality and professional knowledge by the bucket loads! If you are in need of rehabilitation, I highly recommend the folks at Novant Health Rehabilitation Center. They will get everything moving right again in no time. When you go by, tell them Kindra sent ya!

I am as surprise as any reader will be to read this review. In early March 2022, I took a bad…read moretumble and landed hard on my right hip in the street. I had broken my thigh just inches from the ball of my right hip. After thirty-two days in the hospital, I was told that it was time to be moved to a rehabilitation facility to complete my recovery. My medical bills were being paid by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and I had to find a facility that was contracted with that organization. The only one remotely close to my home was Waddell Nursing and Rehab Center, of which I had heard some terrible things. Regardless, I chose to be near my wife and so arrangements were made for my transfer by ambulance, to Galax, Va.. I arrived around 5:00 P.M. and was placed in a room with an older gentleman. I was immediately upset because I had been told that I would have a private room. This disappointment proved premature, unfair and ridiculous. My dinner tray was brought to me shortly after my arrival. While in the hospital, I had barely eaten any of the stale, tasteless items brought to me at mealtime. With my first bite here, however, I was amazed at how delicious the food was. I dare say that Waddell served the best Cole slaw I had ever tasted. Indeed, during the eighteen days I was there, I cleaned my plate every meal except one, when they served pork roast, which I have never enjoyed eating. I found that this facility was kept clean and was very comfortable. The staff, doctors, nurses, CNAs and the physical and occupational therapists, were clean, professional, and very friendly. They knew what to do and how to do it. I received two rehab sessions a day. This had been scheduled for five days a week. When I told my case worker that I wanted to return home as soon as possible, she made arrangements to have a therapist come in on Saturday and Sunday to work with me with the intent that I would reach a discharge level sooner. I was given a shower every three days and a sponge bath on the other days. I got clean clothes every day. Whenever I wanted to try something more difficult, the therapists accommodated me. In eighteen days I was discharged being able to bathe myself, feed myself, take care of all my own personal hygiene situations, climb stairs and walk (with the aid of a walker) as far as 700 paces. None of which I could do when I arrived there. I highly recommend Waddell Rehab Center in Galax, Virginia. If I am ever dumb enough to break another thigh, I am going back. The folks there turned what had been a painful, depressing and sorry experience in an unbelievably happy time.

I had a love one to need care and the staff at this nursing home treated this 90 year old man like…read morethe dirt under their shoes. I could not believe that he was being treated so badly. What took the cake for me was, they let him fall. His head hit the cement floor and cracked open. The staff was no where to be found and he laid on the floor bleeding for over 3 hours. He could have literally bled to death but thank God he didn't. I do have pictures to prove this but because it was not my mother or father and I did not have power of attorney, I can not share them with you. If you have any love in your body for your love one, this is definitely not the place to be. If you're looking for nasty attitudes, none caring, and compassion less people then maybe this is the place for you. I believe my love one could have reached 100 if they had only treated him like they would have wanted to be treated. Unfortunately it saddens me to say, he passed away shortly after the fall. He was also blind and was totally dependent upon his caretakers. My heart is still overwhelmed with grief. Vengeance is mine, said the Lord so I know without a doubt, they will have to answer for their neglect and wrong doings. So please before you consider this place make sure you are at the end of your rope.
