Center for Creative Leadership

Center for Creative Leadership

Making this review as a space for special events (quarterly heart exhibits) not for its daily…read moreactivities/capacities which focuses on the development of leadership and leaders across all disciplines. With campuses around the globe. This one started from the Vicks (family) company which was originated or headquartered in Greensboro North Carolina. This facility is large and sits upon a beautiful grounds, with highly manicured gardens and lawns bordering on forest and lakes. Home to many deer and mich wildlife. A sorr of urban / suburban nature reserve. Definitely feels like an escape from the rest of the world. Every chance we get we attend the arts exhibits that are periodically hosted here. They rotate in theme and list of artists. I highly encourage trying to get on the mailing list. A super wonderful event especially since it's complimentary and also entails hors d'oeuvres made by the very talented food staff along with wine and other beverages. The staff and clients and artists are super interesting to conversate with. The setup is a real gym for Greensboro and the region.

They have wonderful meeting spaces that can accommodate groups of all sizes. Technology is built into the classrooms, so all you have to do is bring your presentation and the computer. Words cannot accurately describe the peace and tranquility you get when you step foot onto the campus. With many gardens, walking paths, and water features with a Koi pond, it is a beautiful space. You can also include their campus cafeteria within your professional development training, and it is top-notch. I'm not a vegan, and even the vegan items are amazing. The value of Center for Creative Leadership is in the unspoken outcomes of togetherness and connection that conform between your teammates. I have been to two trainings on this campus, and both have been exceptional. They also can bring their staff to you to provide professional development in your business, but it truly is the full experience when you give us a thumb.

Reconsidered Goods - "Unacceptableee!!"

I absolutely love that this place even exists. I feel like it even puts Greensboro on the map in a…read moreunique way in the world of thrift shopping. As it is, this city already has a substantial supply of thrift stores. However, Reconsidered Goods does for the Three Rs what I have never seen any other thrift store do well to date. They likely came into existence as a way to cater to the low-budget art student crowd. They seem to have realized that there is potential value in everything. Literally. From the things you would expect to find for sale anywhere down to the things that are only just shy of trash, depending on your personal criteria. I particularly love the bucket loads of stationery and stickers, and the literal shelf loads of assorted random boxes. Your donations and your purchases all give back to the community in some way. They even have an entire maker space style workshop making up the back half of the building where I assume they also do trainings and workshops. And even their prices are so reasonable that a little bit of pocket change can go a long way. The only complaint I can even come up with is that they aren't open long enough.

The entireties of the staff - from the sales, to skilled nursing, to the dining room servers were welcoming, obliging, and happy (which is not always the case in senior facilities!) The residents we encountered were equally cheerful! My father decided on that 1st visit that "this was the place for him", and fortunately there was an apartment that would be available to him in a week's time. Unfortunately, as is often the case with elderly parents, we experienced a medical "emergency" with my Dad several days before his scheduled move-in. The amazing team at Abbotswood moved mountains to get him in-house, and under their expert Living Well @ Home skilled nursing care...an answer to our prayer as we could not give him the care he needed. The team at Abbotswood is enthusiastic, respectful, responsive and incredibly professional! The grounds are beautiful! The interiors are updated and bright! The restaurants serve wonderful food, and are accommodating for each resident's particular needs! I doubt you will find anything in the Triad that is even close to the gem that Abbotswood is!
