Walked in looking for a room and she assisted providing all the important answers and then giving the opportunity to view the difference between a Riverside a.k.a. view room and a non-view room. That brief tour made all the difference and made a difficult decision really easy: Riverview room all the way! The rooms on the first floor were right on the river with a fantastic view from the bed. The rooms were spacious and very clean. Very clean which added to the sense of comfortability. Booked for four nights and reactivated a Wyndham account from 2017 to enjoy member benefits. Free parking to save the trouble and headache which is great. And extremely close to the best coffee shop on the river, plus a couple of excellent restaurants including Mari's Kitchen and the Books n Bears bookshop. read more

Freshly painted room was bright and functional. Quality wise resembling a cheap Home Depot remodel. Cabinetry looked as if someone's unsupervised child punched numerous thumbtack holes in it. Refrigerator made rhythmic groaning sounds throughout the night. Headboard looked as if same child took to it with a sharp object. Bathroom was clean and bed was comfortable. Nice view from riverside unit. No designated handicap parking or ramp to lower floor rooms. OK if you need a quick one night stay. Close to quaint waterfront shops. What a lovely place to stay! We had originally thought about staying in one of the local bed and breakfast places, but this quaint little Inn worked out perfectly. The staff is off the charts friendly and helpful, and it really made the experience even better! The bed is comfy, the room and bathroom are clean, and it was easy to settle in and feel relaxed. My only complaint is that there isn't an air conditioner or heater in the room, and for whatever reason the room was overly warm. They have standing fans that they keep in the room for guests, it's just not comfortable having air blowing on and off all night long. My personal favorite is that they are within walking distance of a number of restaurants, coffee, houses, gift, stores, etc. It was nice to be able to get up in the morning and take a walk along the water, grab a quick bite to eat, and just explore. Parking is free, and when they are busy, the lot is literally packed. Lovely location, and in its own , a hidden gem! read more

Great location and friendly staff. Part of the Wyndham chain. Rooms and bathrooms are antique with the usual paper thin walls. Bring earplugs if you do not want to hear your neighbors. Toilets are at a height suited for a 5 year old and the shower is like a man with a prostate problem. Breakfast is the disgusting highly processed sugary cardboard you get at many hotels these days. Same cheap catering company used by all I guess. There is a coffee roaster and bread baker practically next door, but instead of supporting the locals...Even boiled eggs, if they have them, come peeled and out of plastic bags! And what is with only having environment destroying plastic, single-use, cups, plates, and cutlery? read more

The view is 5 star! The rooms are clean and comfortable. The beds are comfortably firm with good support. The bathroom and room in general are a well planned layout to include a coffee maker, mini fridge, microwave and a dresser for unpacking. There is also an armoire with plenty of room for hanging your clothes. The staff is pleasant and efficient, very agreeable and easy to work with. There is also a private and secure parking area for hotel guests. Being right on the edge of Old Town Florence, this location is ideal for walking the Main Street shops in old town. read more

Yesterday, at 3pm, I was hit by a 19-year-old employee of the River House Inn when I was leaving the parking lot. I was fully stopped in my car. I could see him backing his vehicle out and he didn't see me, and I even honked my horn for a full second. He hit my car and caused major damage to the front end. He jumped out of his vehicle, said he was sorry, asked if I was okay. He was wearing a company shirt. He was on the phone with his mom. An employee of the hotel came out and said immediately said that I had been speeding earlier in the day in the parking lot. She was hostile. I asked her how she knew this, and she said her housekeepers told her this. I then confronted her and the housekeepers, and one woman said I had been speeding in the parking lot between 12:30-1pm. The housekeeper refused to give me her name. I asked if River House Inn had surveillance of the parking lot, and they said no. (In reality, I was at a restaurant during that time period, and I left the parking lot at 7:45am because I'd worked all day at a location about two miles away. I have a receipt from the restaurant during that time. So, it wasn't me speeding - I wasn't there. That's the first thing.) Second, I tried to get the contact info for someone in charge of the hotel, someone who owned it, etc. because this is a work-related accident and they wouldn't give me any info. They said they didn't have surveillance videos, nothing. The woman at the front desk said she couldn't give it to me. I am an older person with a completely clean driving record. If anything, I drive too slow. So I call my insurance company and they tell me the guy who hit me and the employee (girlfriend?) gave them statements that I was speeding and somehow I ran into him. My car is heavily damaged, he hit me with a Ford Escape that is not damaged at all. I was stopped. He was moving. So these are shady people... The managers/owners are sketchy and so be warned. I've written to Wyndham to complain. All I was expecting is for them to be honest about the incident, and help me get my car repaired, and not make something up (me speeding etc.) So instead I'm spending my day with my insurance company trying to explain what happened and writing reviews. I'm really mad, obviously, because this incident was not my fault yet I'm having to pay for it. read more

We booked our stay through Booking.com and it was advertised that there was air conditioning, which is untrue. The manager at the hotel, Heather, stated that they have never had air conditioning and it was Booking.com's issue that she's been trying to correct although we were not told upon checking in that there was none. It wasn't till the next day when I ask how to access the air conditioning that we were told there was none. In speaking with Booking they explained to us that it actually was the hotel that had indicated to them that there was air conditioning when they signed up to partner with them. Now no one wants to accept responsibility and we paid far too much for our stay. read more

I will definitely be staying here again! This is the cutest place. We stayed in a standard room, but they have river view rooms with a balcony as well. If we were staying more than a night we would've gotten one of those rooms. Our room was still great and had everything you need. We were greeted by Paul, who was the sweetest guy! He gave us recommendations and guided us in the right direction for what to do while we were there. In the morning, we were greeted by other employees asking us how our stay was. Great customer service. If you have an electric vehicle, they have free charging. They had 3 Tesla Chargers and 1 for other EV charging. They have an on-site laundry room for guests that is free to use. If you need detergent, they have it for sale for $1 each. You are close and walking distance to restaurants and shops. Four of us stayed here for an overnight on a coastal trip before heading back to Portland the next day. The check in was fine and our rooms were clean. We had one room with a river view and one without. When hanging out in the room before dinner, we noticed that all of the furniture seemed to be riddled with small holes. There was no rhyme or pattern to the holes and made me think that someone prior had vandalized the furniture, so I called the front desk about it. They said that was just the way the furniture came when they bought it new??? Also noticed a laminated card with instructions on "how to survive a tsunami" which I very much appreciated, as I have never stayed overnight in a tsunami zone before. read more

TV remote does not work. I purchased new batteries and still it only worked to it turn on/off. Pillows very small and not comfortable. There's a fountain near room 240 that for unknown reasons is on all night, making it hard to sleep. Walls are very thin. This hotel could use a major upgrade. The sheets popped off the mattress in the middle of the night because they were too small for the mattress. The toilet seat was worn down to the wood in spots (is that really sanitary?). The thermostat was so old all the numbers were worn off making it difficult to set a comfortable temperature. I know it's the normal thing now to not do daily housekeeping, but they did give us fresh towels when we asked. All said and done I would not stay here again nor would I recommend this property to anyone. read more

We booked the room for 3 adults and 2 teenagers. When we got to our room there were only 2 double beds. There was no bed or couch for the 5th guest. However, we did bring an air mattress but there was no space for it. They did give us an additional room for a small discounted rate. The rooms are nice but small and the beds are a little hard. On 8/6, myself and my two adult children stayed in one of the rooms that was right on the river. The view was great. After a long drive we took our shoes off and we're kicking back on the beds. My daughter walked around a little bit and happened to glance at the bottom of her white socks, and noticed they were dark brown from the carpets. From that moment, it just felt grungy. The next morning, I mentioned to the nice gentleman at the counter that the carpets were filthy. He said that the carpets are shampooed once over the winter, and vacuumed each day. I appreciated the honesty, but that would have been at least eight months ago. The rooms felt outdated and the beds so so. Location, location location is a positive. This review is LONG overdue. We stayed here on a whim during our road trip. We were on the road for close to 12 hrs on where looking for a place to rest. We stumbled upon this place and still reminisce about how great our brief stay was. The room was Very clean. The staff was very friendly and checked us in quickly. In the morning they had great breakfast and even had onsite laundry faculties. The location is stunning as well. We took a morning stroll after breakfast and were taking back by tranquil setting. If you ever find yourself in Florence, OR stay here! We still think about returning to this beautiful tranquil city. read more

Charming motel (normally an oxymoron), but really, you can tell these folks care! I confess I didn't utilize my charming room on the second floor overlooking the parking lot more than several hours overall, as I was in town for the birth of my Granddaughter and due to a difficult delivery and complications, I checked in very very late. Fortunately, I had the sense to call earlier to let them know that I didn't know when I would be arriving. They were kind enough to understand and tell me what I needed to do when I arrived. This was very reassuring, and I appreciated it. Room was nice and clean, bed comfortable. Loved the rubber duck...how cute! Just wish I could have hung out and enjoyed a relaxing stay. Will hopefully be back in the near future to do so. Location is excellent, if you want to be right there by Old Town. If you like cool coffee shops, be sure to check out the nearby Siuslaw River Coffee Roasters. read more

Heard cars crossing River bridge all night, regardless of whether slider was open or closed. I discovered the white noise button on the radio the next morning. Wish I had noticed it the night before. Don't forget to ask about the AAA Discount when booking! Breakfast room also very clean. Hard boiled eggs, yogurt, waffles, hot cereal, coffee, tea, etc. Nothing fancy but free!! Its a wonderfully situated motel, on the suislaw river at the base of the suislaw bridge. We loved the views of course. I thought the place was on the drafty side, and small for the price. It was super clean and everything worked. It was annoying to hear everyone on either side of me and above me opening and closing their ancient sliding doors. it sounded like people were moving big pieces of furniture around all day. I had an half empty box of Kleenex and half a roll of TP. (two people, 2 nights which they remedied when we went down to the office. The final straw is the small 3"x3" piece of soap we had at the wash basin and no soap at all in the shower. There was quite a bit of residual noise coming from the heavy trucks, rvs etc driving across the bridge. Luckily I had ear plugs in my luggage. people walking up and down the corridor outside the rooms were pretty noisy, just the way the place is built, not the customers fault. once bed was taller than the other one, and the mattresses was hard, I slept badly and woke up hurting in my lower back and joints. The pillows were plentiful and I loved the reading lamps that also charged my iPad/phone at the same time. VERY convenient. It was great to have the roomy mini fridge, didn't use the microwave. We couldn't get the shower nozzle to work without great effort and same with the locks on both doors. Thank god my husband has more strength than I do. This hotel is ridiculous. My mother and I I booked a room with a river view 3 months in advance and after driving from Seattle to here the room we get is a complete dungeon. No window, no view, no natural light and no river view. We were in room 241 right above the office and house keeping. Hotel does not have AC and the whole entire night we could not sleep due to weird loud ass noises that were made inside of our room. Sounded like an ice machine going off but there's no ice machine in the room. Over all this place is just depressing and run down. Choose somewhere else to spend your money. They did the same exact thing to my grandparents that drove 6 hours to meet us here. Scam. read more

The location is superb. Our riverfront balcony provided hourly entertainment from cormorants, egrets, deer, seals and purple martins. High tide brought seals and spooky dorsal fins poking over the surface of the water. Low tide brought geese, deer and herons feeding in the mud flats. Front desk staff was friendly and helpful, and all our requests were cheerfully met. The room is not fancy, but it's clean and everything works. The bath/shower was a puzzler, however, as turning it on requires pulling the handle so hard you're sure you're going to break the thing. Walls and floors are thin, so you don't miss much noise from the rooms above or alongside you. One disappointment was the lack of any attempt to preserve some kind of breakfast service, or to adjust the room rate to reflect the absence of the once-included breakfast. Other hotels have at least offered some kind of take-out or pickup service for the included breakfast. This place just shut the doors to the breakfast room and called it a day. In all, though, a nice place to stay on a beautiful spot on the river. read more

3 stars meaning "A-ok" for staying on a Sunday night. The 1-night stay for a basic no-view room was $100. The desk girl was friendly. The only weird issue is a warning about if you loose your plastic room key they will charge you for that. That seems a bit ridiculous and reminiscing of a Motel 6. This is the first room key card I have ever seen that is blank with no advertising so maybe that is why they feel they should charge? The best feature of this motel for me is the location since it's in Florence Old Town area and close to all the touristy gift shops and restaurants. The breakfast is waffles & sausages for hot food. Pastries, bread, hard boiled eggs etc. Free Wi-fi. The room was clean and in working order. We booked a no-view room and the queen room seemed small and somewhat cramped. I read complaints about no AC, however most hotels and even lots of resorts omit AC because of the few days it's needed on the Oregon coast. It had a refrigerator and microwave. The room we stayed in...in this area could easily be a $39/night room. Or it could be a $200/night room. It's always based on location plus supply and demand. It's not a motor lodge along the highway with smoking room, pets or noise issues. And it's not the quality of Best Western Pier Point Inn directly across the river. Generally I would say it's...average...like a typical Days Inn in Oregon, however even Days Inn can vary quite a bit since it's just a brand. Three Rivers Casino is generally less price, but unless you are a gambler, you will end up driving since the Casino is a bit away from Old Town. Driftwood Shores, paying more would be a step up for room size and especially scenery, but again you will drive to Old Town if you want that experience. read more

Awesome little property. Stayed here twice in last few years and great both times. Great staff and great little rooms. The place is Very clean inside and out. In the morning fog/mist they were outside wiping down the handrails...don't get that at a chain. Rooms are nice and everything worked great, clean and comfortable. Breakfast room is tiny and not the greatest selection but not bad by any means. Good parking, Close to main roads, and walking distance to lots of good stuff in town. This Inn has everything you need to enjoy your stay. The rooms were of cleanliness, comfort, and the water pressure in the shower was perfect. It is also walking distance to Old Town, you don't have to get in a car - which is convenient.
